Sapphire hoping she does not take a punishment for this casts the magic again, especially after the plight of Aki, to allow the rest of the group to speak and understand the people in this area. She knows her master did not ask but hopes that this will please him none the less.

The woman smiles a knowing smile at Allan that she clearly reserves just for clueless tourists, and waves at the gigantic structure just beyond the skyscraper housing Joy's. "The closest branch is the hall of military records, building twelve." The woman winks at Allan and smiles playfully at the others. "Stop back anytime, everyone at Joy's knows their way around the city."
Tesla is able to access the local information network. They are currently located in China, in the Great Library district. The year is 2457 AD. Twelve massive buildings surrounding the relatively smaller skyscrapers in the immediate area comprise the Library of China. A subway system connects them and each building is big enough to have more than one subway stop. Each section has a specialty, though all of them have books, both available for download and a museum of printed books, video, audio, artwork, technology museums, and archaeological artifacts. Each also hosts numerous school representatives, scholars, artists in residence, researchers, and hordes of students of all ages. Millions of people live in the surrounding area.
Tesla is also able to tell from the woman's data link that she has loaded about 10 credits onto each of the cards she handed out, likely the price of admission to the restaurant, maybe enough for one discounted drink.

Informing them of the location and year he described the library to them.
"So as you can see it is big.." Tesla was impressed, "But I wonder about the rest of globe..." he was concerned about the seeming paradise. Most had a snake and an apple tree..

Aki stands with eyes closed and face turned up to the sky. it is almost as if she is sniffing the wind. in a way she is. she is seeking out to 'hear' wildlife in the area, even city rats. she is worried that this place is too 'sterile' for the wylde children she grew up knowing about.

Taifuu nods his head at the sight of flying cars, "Nice to see people evolve from crawling on the ground. Dad ought to be proud."
The amount of technology defied his perception already. Back in his time already left behind he wasn't up to date on the current tech of the age. Now here they were in much higher technology society. Nothing for him to worry about; when in need to decipher what a computer was saying to him, he would get Tesla; then entertain the lovely lady with him.
Taifuu looked over the chinese woman that greeted them and happily took the offered card. "Hey, can anybody help me with a lingo boost here? Would like to know what the nice lady is saying."

Allan cast Tongues on Taifuu so he'ld understand. "Well thank-you." He said, looking around. "Maybe I will go in later."
"Alright." He says, speaking in Taifuu's language without thinking, leading the group in the direction of the military branch, for now. (Yay tongues). "Military library is closest, but I suspect he's researching occult, or history, trying to figure out which points he should be inserting himself." He pauses. "Well, it's what I'ld do."

Tesla nodded in agreement to streetwise. staying close to Sapphire and looking at her.
"Never a dull day is it?" he smiled. He knew little of the her background and found it was as good a time as any.
"You mentioned you have some skill in magic..What kind of magic can you do?" he asked as walked with her. He was curious. If magic was to be part of the new world he was wiser if he understood it.

Sapphire lights up from her master talking to her especially as an asking of what she can do instead of punishment for casting tongues on all the group memebers.
"Well Master Tesla, I can control the general forces of magic known in my time as invocations which covers a very wide specturm. I am capable of learning many magic types. To be honest I almost feel I forgot many types of spells I used to know, but that could be because of the length of time I was in stasis."
She pauses for a moment looking puzzled realizing that she has no idea how much time has passed.
"Needless to say as I did with my last master" she shudders as she even remotely brings up the memory, "I learned whatever he needed for use at the time. I am also a form of a mystic converter capable of changing standard energies into ones that can be use by mages."
She looks directly at her new master specially since he has shown so much promise and if she keeps pleasing him maybe she will not have to go through what was done before. But because he also asked for information and for some reason she is compelled to say this last piece of information.
"Also Master Tesla, I feel compelled to tell you that with that ring you can command me to do anything you need. There are very few exception of which I will tell you when you try to command them. Too my knowledge there is only one but I have been told there are others!"

The other library buildings are Art, Music, Literature, Theatre, Archaeology, History, Science, Technology, Genealogy, Research, and Invention. Of course, each of them contain all kinds of related works and history. For example there are Law sections in History, and many religious categories in Art and Music.
As Tesla scans the recent history, there doesn't seem to be much of a dark side. Medical research and genetics seems to have provided long, comfortable lives. There is a stable economy and population. If anything, there seems to be some ongoing issues with some of the population living in virtual reality and failing to produce anything (or reproduce), but the society appears to have adjusted fairly well. Of course, Tesla only has time to look through the last one hundred years of so, there could be plenty of tragedy further back. And he is also smart enough to know the government might have scrubbed some of the records.

Aki tags along and says little. this is out of her league now. the fact she can't feel other 'wildlife' is unsettling. she plods along behind the others with the secure sense of Yumi sleeping in the rucksack.
*she slows slightly as the others gather about the library to look into windows and at the marvels she sees. this bothers her, there is no green plants that she can see and little in the line of animals in the area. *with little to offer the others now, she remains silent in the rear of the group while the others chatter like the wild monkeys she saw growing up

"You're a technowizard?" Allan asks Sapphire, as she describes her abilities. "You didn't mention this before. How much do you charge for your services?" The idea of the ring enslaving her only to Tesla's command was a formality to Allan, at this point. She seemed intelligent enough on her own, and Tesla certiainly wasn't telling her which foot to put in front of the other. And, it didn't hurt to ask. "That is, if you still do. At the very least, Aki could use some sort of translation device."

"A techno wizard? I am not sure what you mean by that. No what I have is the ability for example to take the energy's of things like the sun and turn it into the magic energies that mages need. It is how I fuel myself and when my master asks me too I can donate it to others to use as well. I remember one of the terms thrown around for me as PPE battery!"
She honestly looks confused by the word Techno wizard, mouthing itself to herself even after she is done speaking to see if she says it enough times if it will make sense to her before continuing on.
"And charge for my service, I do not charge for my services. I am at command of my master and as a group I assume whatever you need I will grant with his approval!"

*like a wild animal or some animal seeking out predators, Aki's nose sniffs the air as she moves along. seeking the smell of 'trees' or other interesting animal like smells. she fears that this place is ... void of real life.
*part of her attention tries to keep track of the conversation and only when her name is mentioned do her eyes look at Allen and then the others before shrugging and looking about again. this is not her world, and she is not familiar with it. the lights and sounds tho, attract her attention.
*much like a moth to a flame, she stares about at the 'technology' about her. turning in one spot staring at the vehicles going by overhead. 'how fly? .. no see wings .. '

"It seems all very pleasant, but paradise usually has a price." looking around he guessed it was likely a big price. He looked at the ring and wonder why she'd tell him. He was certainly nice to her. Even treating he as friend or more...
With that he'd have to watch his wording...The wrong phrase and he might get some serious trouble. That was the price power, and control over some was more power than one can imagine. this did nothing to change his view she her person.
"I suspect you will find most wild animals at night here..or in a zoo." he Spotting Aki. (provided the tongues spell was still active.)

They reach the gigantic structure that houses the Hall of Military Records. It might be a little shorter than the tallest building on Earth in the 21st Century, but it is at least three times as wide. It isn't hard to imagine ships being kept inside or whole battles being enacted in there.
At half past one in the morning, the seven stories of glass that mark the entrance are closed and dark and no one is around. The place probably opens around 0800.
There are small signs of tourists here - bits of trash and food here and there. Aki spots pigeon droppings.
