I know its an ancient thread (almost 7 years? Really?) but since it was recently awoken, I figure I'll toss in my comments =) All of the above except Nightbane, and tons more. The list would take awhile to read through, but if people are really curious I could post one

My favorites are Robotech, which I've played since I was 11 (36 now) Rifts, Macross, Star Wars D6, D&D 2nd (no D20 for me!), Palladium Fantasy, Mechanoids and Ninjas and Superspies. I've played most Palladium titles, but those are my faves.

I've played most Palladium titles, but those are my faves. Its really difficult for me to pick out a specific favorite; the closest would probably be Battletech (which I've been playing since 1987) but thats more of a tactical board game than a roleplaying game. However, its stuck with me all these years, where other games have come and gone. There are some RPGs that could fall into 'favorite' if I got more opportunity to play them; Ars Magica (3rd edition), 7th Sea and Spycraft fall into those catagories, while my love of mecha draws me to the various Robotech games in particular. And then there are the games that could be favorites, if it went for one or two things about the game that make them hard to love: the biggest example of this for me has got to be Aces & Eights. I love old west genre, I love the setting and background for A&E.... but I loathe the combat system. Bleh. Shadowrun is similar, and would rival Battletech for favorite game, except that the combat rules are clunky and difficult to teach, making it hard to get games started sometimes. I could go on, but given my level of fatigue, Im unlikely to stop until I run out of room

7th Sea is fun too. I played whatever the analogue was of a Spaniard. Though firearms were a pain in the game, he carried about a dozen pistols, and traveled with another character that acted as a loader. He also climbed the masts and sniped with muskets. When closing for a boarding, he'd switch to a blunderbuss, then finally board with pistols. If all were out, he would use them as hammers. The guy had a very strange disposition and wit to him.
I love mecha games too, which is odd that my cat does not know how to operate one. My Invid character, however, is an RCB pilot, and that's cool. I liked using a lot of the online stuff to play in Macross 7/Plus games, as Macross Plus may be my second favorite anime of all time. My first is of course Harlock.
