"That was a gift!" The thief says. He keeps pace with Sapphire, though she can fly, the ceilings are low and he's right next to her. He is close enough to be able to touch Tesla when she picks him up.

Then he stops, letting her flee. Sapphire no longer has the necklace, and the thief doesn't seem to have it either. "Leaving so soon?" He asks. The spear returns to his hand from across the room. "Was it something I said?"

"No it is the way you are endangering my master and his friends." Sapphire states coming to a stop and drawing her Staff out. "And how should we proceed then! I must defend my master who asked me to guard. I can not disobey him or that could lead to punishment. So I put forward again, how should we proceed?"

Sapphire stands at the ready, to defend her master. She is still shakey about using some of her skills and abilities to help. But she will defend her master!!

"Eh?" The thief says. "Right. If you leave the room without your master he'll be at my mercy. And, if you leave the room with your master, then I might kill his friends while you are gone. So, it looks like you're stuck here."

The thief turns to go, calling out over his shoulder, "In all seriousness, what makes you think taking him out of this room will be safe? The battle is about to start, and this is the only room that is protected. You could fight me alone, or join in the battle, but your master would be vulnerable wouldn't he?"

"Don't say I didn't warn you!" And with that, he steps lightly to the door and opens it to leave.

(Will Sapphire pursue him? Try to escape with Tesla? Or follow the thief's advice)

*Yumi, unable to move the grill herself spins about and races back the way she came .. and slithers out of the heating vent and dashes towards the 'stink' she scented earlier.

*Aki returns to the vent she entered and looks thru the grill before she slides out. depending on what she sees, will guide her action.

1] if she arrives in time to hear the 'thief she'll do something - like remove the grill and then when no one's looking .. send it at the man's neck .. hoping to stun him or interrupt his breathing slightly.

2] if she arrives to late to be of assistance, she will circle the 'frozen ones and poke them once with a finger .. sniff at them once then head off to gather up Yumi before the little fiend does something wrong

Sapphire heads over and grabs his hand. "No, I would like a straight answer if you will. I will help you if it is for a greater good but by all means it seems you are the one I am to be capturing. Give me a straight answer and I will assist you. A wrong one and you will have to face me. And as I know you are not fully human or something more then so to must you realize that neither am I human." The last part she speaks with a twinge of sadness!

Aki arrives in time to toss the grill, but it clatters to the floor and she is completely paralyzed as she attacks.

The thief again attempts to parry with the spear.

Failing, he looks at her and sighs, "And you said you wanted a straight answer."

The spear shifts to his free hand and he throws it at Tesla.

Sapphires reacts without thinking to jump into the path of the of the spear and take it for her master or block it as should properly be done.

Sapphire is hit by the spear. Damage is:

Then, the spear pulls itself back from Sapphire, and attacks Tesla again, this time arcing to strike differently.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at that coat. Allan thinks, while still paralized, seeing how the spear came out of it. Noting the low ceilings that made it hard for Sapphire and stranger to fly, it would be hard for Allan to become Streetwise anyways. Now, where have I heard of that kind of coat before?

Parry with Staff - [dice=20+8]

With that Sapphire attempts to use her staff to parry the attack. While this is going on she activates her glowing power around her entire body to make it more difficult to hit and situates herself in front of her master and the enemy.[rand=4207679931800794389627643467786885027986525654655110226676031904]

Another spear appears in the thief's hand, and he casually tosses it at Tesla and then glances at his watch, almost unconsciously.

"Oh please! Believe I mentioned my leaving was necessary, don't come after me and all that, didn't I? No one will be safe till I leave. The heist is completed already, all that is left is a little catching up between old friends."

A third spear appears, which he lightly tosses at Tesla, this one takes a different angle so the three spears are attacking Tesla from all sides.

"These spears won't stop till I command," the thief says. "If you manage to hit me, I mean really land a blow, then I'll stop them and leave. Otherwise, I just don't see how I'm going to trust you to stay put and not fly off or grab me."

The first spear also attacks again:

"You know what no matter what you do I have no choice, I do realize that whatever power you did to the others will no doubt effect me so here goes!"

Sapphire hearing that lets loose the only thing that could guarantee to hit him. Her Energy blast followed by a hit from her magic staff. Now to see if he keeps his word, at least I know he can not evade the radius of the energy blast, and if he is true to his word then he will let us go.

When Sapphire attacks, she immediately falls unconscious, so it is difficult for anyone to see if the thief is hit or not - since everyone who is still conscious is paralyzed and only able to see him in their peripheral vision.

Two of the spears disappear, and the thief puts the only one remaining into a pocket and leaves. Gunfire can be heard in the distance.

The minutes drag on until everyone wakes up, both those who tried to attack and those who fell victim to the thief's finger gun.

A nun, wearing a traditional habit, stands in the room holding a crossbow. "Feeling better are we?" She smiles in a businesslike manner. "Now, whom did you fight? Was it a man or a woman? Any wounded?" her voice concerned. "Any success?"

She looks around at all of them as they wake up or regain the ability to move.

Immidiately upon waking Sapphire heads over to Tesla to check on him and his wounds. She kneels beside him immidiately. "Master Tesla, Master Tesla, are you ok?? Did the spears impale you that badly or not?"

Sapphire ignores all other things other then Tesla until otherwise told.

While at least one spear did manage to hit Tesla, he currently has no bleeding or injury, though he'll be a little sore for a couple days.
