Heroes Earth, 21st Century

As the others took their break, Dryzh turned to Tesla. " Dryzh should break too, but not feel like walk away. Head too fuzzy all strange talk. Allen help hear words, but not make sense all." He tilted his head slightly to the side. " so we go future to stop thief coming past?"

[kurff]

"With my knowledge of time travel being limited...That is up to Allen. A break is a good idea..will deal with this in the morning. After Time not being an issue in this case.." he grinned.

"And I'm hungry..." he thought about what he was in the mood for..

Sapphire hears her masters request allowed and immidiately moves beside him kneeling before him, half in apologies half in instinct. "Master Tesla! You said you were hungry, my apologies for not thinking of your needs. What can I make for you....If this place has a kitchen. I was told by the other guests that I am a really great cook so I can make you anything you want."

She is not 100% sure about the last part, because recipe's could have changed since she was last active.

Eventually, after everyone has had a rest, they return to room with Darrell. When Taifuu arrives, Darrell gives him a message and he mumbles something about a family emergency and makes his excuses.

A teenage boy stands ext to Darrell. The boy is dressed in a black BDU jacket with lots of pockets, and his pants are black cargo pants also with many pockets.

When everyone is present Darrell smiles at the boy. "Well, its been three years for you I think. If you don't improve you'll be an old man before you finish your apprenticeship. What did you find?"

The boy half-faces Darrell and half-faces everyone else. He holds up a book. "The earliest translations of One Thousand and One Nights are in Arabic and date to about the 14th Century, but all scholars know that the work began much earlier than. This is a 13th Century copy. It is missing some stories and has some extra stories, including one that is removed from later copies."

"It is a story about a king with a spear. The king held a small kingdom and kept the peace, until a magi came on a journey searching for a bride for his employer. With the magi were two kids. One was an apprentice of the magi, one of half a dozen apprentices. The apprentice, a boy, heard about the spear and wanted it. He invited the other kid, who happened to be the magi's daughter, to help him steal it."

"They snuck into the palace, the king caught them, they fought the king and took the spear."

"The boy's name was Fakir. He is dead now, so he isn't your thief. Yet, this story shows the origination of the spear. The magi was a time traveller. An infamous leader of a gang of thieves. Later, Fakir makes a name for himself as a spear thrower and thief."

"Fortunately, since Fakir is dead and the magi has many enemies hunting him I was able to get some information. The trackers I spoke with give information only reluctantly. They would only tell me about Fakir and the spear because they are no longer related to the magi. These guys tracked the spear to your thief - it is the same spear. They questioned him and determined that he is not the magi's apprentice. There was some confusion as some thought that your thief might be Fakir. It turns out that the magi's apprentice died and your thief is merely another time travelling thief with the same spear."

"But most of that is just back story. I was able to find out from them the place and time they were able to corner your thief without his sentries. I was able to find several points in time when we could see your thief in my own research, but almost all of them are right before battles - like at the library. We know he has sentries active at those times, so they aren't great starting points."

"According to my sources, he will have an unguarded moment on the Palladium world, at about the 6th Century, according to one of the local kingdom's record keeping. This is when the trackers questioned him."

"Thank-you." Allan said to Darrell's assistant.

Turning to Darrell, he asked, "If it's Palladium, will we have to prepare outselves to match? Also, when, in relation to you trackers, will be a good time to stop him?"

[kurff]

"6th century? that means Wood, Cogs and siege warfare equipment. And weapons more suited a J.R.R. Tolkien novel?" he asked Allan. he was already starting scan for any information regarding 6th century technology.

"Right, I'll need a shotgun and a Chainsaw...." he grinned recalling a bad movie he once saw on cable..

"Ahh a time and place I am hoping that will make more sense to me. Actually master Tesla I think I have been there before, but I am not certain to the event as it was never revealed fully where we went but I remember one of the party's I attended that one of the people my master sent me off with said palladium." She shivers at the memory but is happy she might be more assistance then she was in the last place they were at.

"Also master you did not answer me about what you wanted me to make you?"

" Wood and cogs? How does one make weapons that will contend with ours from such materials?" Dryzh asked curiously. " Umm, a quick question though. There are few if any other Mantella on your planet. How might they react to me in this place you with us to go?"

*having gotten lost with all the words, she ponders the few she did catch and fully ubderstand.

' .. wh hunt females .. yes?' *Ahi knows she probably got it wrong again, but doesn't worry too much. someone will tewll her later what they need to do. she tucks her feet up on the chair and nibbles on .. grass? its green and was growing outside. Yumi is moving about with a scrap of canvas and playing happily within 3 feet of her 'nest'

"You will feel more at home in this next world." Allan says to Aki. "It is like Earth before we gained so much technology. More like where you came from. As for you Dryzh... we'll have to figure out a way so that people don't fear you too automatically."

Darrell chuckles, "I suppose you could modify your equipment to fit in better, but don't worry over much. They have magic there. People will be no more terrified of guns or aliens than or magic or the native monsters."

"And this will be the 6th Century according to some local kingdom. It won't precisely equate to Earth's 6th Century. The technology level includes frigate sailing ships, crossbows, and they have even more advanced magical devices. That world has alot of variety, so I can't really describe it all in any reasonable length of time, but I think if you stick with the Tolkien reference you won't be far off."

"As for watching out for the trackers, I'll keep my eyes open, but I doubt we'll see them. It would not have taken them very long to realize they were dealing with a different person if they are tracking the magi in the story."

"Well, why don't all of you get together the equipment and supplies you need. I can send you back from here just as soon as you have everything." He turns to the boy, "Good work. Get back to your research and tell me when you have uncovered a unguarded moment for his sentries or henchmen."

Aki looks at Allen, then nods. Yumi rises on back legs near the girl's hand and it offers the scrap of cloth. its clear the creature is finished with it. Akilooks down and chitters and Yumi vanishes into the pack with it, before coming out without it.

Aki offers an arm, which is climbed and the creature curls up to snooze. Aki comments 'my bag here. carries what we need. is her nest for travel' *she ponders something then asks 'what kind of people is being 'hench' .. ?'

"People who serve him. Mostly goons and people who are given more important jobs that just guards." Tesla added.

"How concerned are Palladiumites about non-humans?" Allan asks. "It's been a while, and I remember some tolerances. But I worry about Dryzh. Should we use a magical disguise or a slave story or what?"

[sasqaricious]

"Master Tesla I will have to agree with him that possibly the best method is if some of us go as slaves. Especially with the way that he looks, no offense to you Dryzh."

She says concerned about his looking maybe to a point where people might mistaken him for a demon.
