Captain America replies simply. "We get this bird in the air and head for the helicarrier's last known coordinates. En route we review the last transmission sent by Doctor Banner for any clue to the assailant. Then, we go rescue everyone we can."
Finishing up he straps in, puts on the earpieces, and begins pre-flight checks. (roll 38/69 on Pilot: Jet Aircraft for start-up).

With a small sigh, Gambit gets up and moves back to one of the passenger seats. "Just lookin at the view. A little different from the x-planes."
Putting a headset on, Gambit straps up as well. "But there's no movie on this flight, right?" He asks, knowing someone would have eventually.

Captain America responds. "Just the video doctor Banner sent us, if that counts."

Colossus replied, " I am not looking forward to another tussle with the Hulk if it comes to that."
The pilot lifted the craft from the hangar with the practiced ease of a pro and jetted out, turning north and pushed it up to maximum cruising speed. He keyed a monitor control and a video began to play.
Dr. Bruce Banner was explaining the inner workings of some sort of sophicticated experiment involviing gamma radiation and something he kept referring to as the parasite. Apparently, his tests weren't having any positive results and he was looking for some input from Pym on which direction to go to next. Then the screen shook, followed with the doorcrashing open. As Banner spun, an pair in armored yellow outfits ausaulted him with some sort of strange looking weapon and Bruce dropped from sight. As smoke began to filter into the room, a purple gauntlet reached acrossed in front of the camera and shut it off.
" Widow was right to be concerned." Piotr said, sounding like his agitation was returning. [perc rolls please]

"AIM. Hmmm, well, this will not be easy." And that gauntlet? Zemo? No one's heard from him since that incident with the Thunderbolts. I wanted to believe him when he claimed he had reformed. I wanted not to blame him for the sins of his father, but it may just be that the apple did not fall far enough from the tree.
"Alright, the advantages are that while AIM is powerful and intelligent, they don't have the raw numbers that Hydra or the Hand has, and their combat proficiencies are fairly rudimentary, so we'll have the advantage at close quarters. However, they'll likely have a technological edge. They would have to in order to take the Helicarrier. Any commentary or suggestions, gentlemen?" Steve turns back to the cabin as the engines come online

" It looks as though the AIM troopers were already in placewhen the explosion took place. " That would mean they were already on board. and in position." Colossus suggested. " This is obviously a well planned out attack."

Cap nods. "Clearly. And suggests some possible means of teleportation. We'll have to look out for that."

Piotr nodded. " I was not aware AIM had developed such a device. But then again, we haven't dealt with them as often as you, Captain."

"They've made a few attempts over the years - usually trying to reverse-engineer Shi'ar technology. AIM is a very dangerous group of people because despite the fact that they aren't the military threat Hydra is, their technology is occassional centuries ahead of our time. Be guarded and cautious." Cap turns back and looks at his co-pilot. "Let me know when we've got our course and heading ploted out, Agent. Then punch it."

"Agent Micelli, sir. Course all set and laid into the computer." The young agent replied. " I doublechecked it against domestic air traffic and Canadian Air Force mission plans. We have clear sailing, sir."
Piotr looked over at Gambit," I have suspicion you will be missing your suprise date with Rogue tomorrow night. May be safer for you this way though." The russian grinned.

"Alright Agent Micelli, let's go find your boss. We get this done, and maybe you'll get to hear a "WAH-HOO" befrore this is all done. We'll go for maximum burn." Captain America smiles and turns back to the passenger cabin. "You might want to hold on to something; these new models have a bit more kick than your blackbird." Steve opens the throttle wide open.

"Oh, I'm sure she'll understand." Gambit says to Colosuss. "She'll be happy to know I was charging to become gator meat."
"But, how do we know this raid was tied to the rest of the Hellicarrier being downed?"
As the jet kicks into gear, Gambit makes a comment roughly equivalent to the iconic "bam!" from Emeril Lagosi...

It took Colossus a moment to respond once the craft came up to speed. " The timing of AIM's attack on Dr. Banner and the blast seemed too co-ordinated to be a coincidence." He looked back to the pilot seat," Captain, we are not that familiar with AIM. Do they work independently or will someone be leading them?"
Micelli spoke up. " At this rate we'll be there in under an hour, sir."

Captain America takes a moment to check his instruments then looks to his co-pilot. "Good. Agent Micelli, let's keep this on an even level - I'm counting on you." Without even looking back, he speaks up to answer Colussus' question. "AIM has several splinter groups and cells. Usually, they defer to a Scientist Supreme - the most brilliant mind in a group of brilliant minds. That's the best case scenario. The worst case is that we'll be dealing with a MODOK variant." Steve pauses for a moment. "And I wouldn't chuckle if I were you. Yes, MODOK may not look all that impressive, but his psionic powers are on par with your Jean Grey's. He's a powerful psychokinetic who can also manipulate minds and has a variety of other destructive means at his disposal. The other major problem is that MODOKs will tend to be far more fanatical and will drive their troops harder and treat them more expendably. So we will have to be cautious."

"You make sound like MODOK is short for somtin'." Gambit says.
