Sam nods quietly at the Colonel. "When we arrived, Sir, General Sykes was waiting for us in the hanger. He ordered us to take some downtime before checking in with the base. Otherwise, I naturally would have checked in right away, as I usually do, Sir."

McCain nods at the young woman in the psi uniform, "Hey whats up with the squad going back out into Sung's area, are we going after him?"

After waiting until she was calm, Mary heads to the medical ward. Finding Trassk's door, she knocks, and says, in an easily professional voice, "Sargeant Trassk, you wanted to see me?" She says.

" The General? He was here?" Wallace was caught off guard. " He never came to see me... you're dismissed, luietenant. Just remember to follow procedure and I want a written report as soon as possible. " He turned to his comm unit and began making a call as Sam left.
The woman looked at McCain. " don't know about you're squad, but we got word to be packed and ready to go in twenty."
the battle cat nodded in agreement. " We never heard anything about Sung though."
Shep looked up at Marianna, his look a bit puzzled. " No need for formalities, Mar. Besides, sargeant isn't really my rank." He smirked. He looked to make sure no one else was in earshot. " Is what Dyson told me true? That your considering opting out of the service."

Sam nods at the Colonel. "Yes, sir." she then saluted him and then went back to her quarters to get some sleep. When she gets there, she wonders what the Colonel meant when he said he'd taken steps to make sure it wouldn't happen again when it came to Lt. Norrin. Curious, she sets out to find Norrin to see if he would tell her what was going on.

" Don't play games with me, or I'll take you rabbit hunting again." Shep smirked as he sat up to the side of the cot. " And if it comes down to it, I've got rank to order you to do it. Here," He reached over to his table and took a folder from the drawer, this goes no farther than you and me." He gave her a moment," now I told my little secret, can you answer my question. I decided to re-up again, what are you going to do?"
[ McCain]
" Don't worry, we've been there before." the Psi-Bat said. " Snowball and I used to be in a squad with your Sargeant Trassk before we got transferred over to Lt. Norrin's team. The LT hadn't told us where we were heading though."
The battlecat stroked his chin. " Has to be smoother than last time."
Ellie nodded.
[Sam]
Norrin was in one of situation rooms just down the corridor from the Colonel's office as Sam left. He glanced up from the chart he was studying with one of the base techs and nodded.
" Hey Sam. How bad did the old man chew you out?" Thoma asked as he looked back down at an aerial shot of the area around Westville.

Mary placed the folder on the bed, careful not to spill their contents. "I never said I was going to retire. Only to leave this unit." She says, matter-of-factly. Seriously, she's not tense, or emotional or trying not to look like she's either. "I will be requesting a transfer from Sam as soon as is reasonable. I'll work with Psi-Bat to create a new identity, if need-be. I'm still officially dead."

Sam smiles at Norrin. "It wasn't as bad as it could have been." she replies. Glancing at the base tech, she asks Norrin, "Can I talk to you for a minute in private?" Standing to the side, Sam asks in a low tone of voice, "The Colonel said the oddest thing, and I wondered if you could explain it. He said that you'd neglected to mention the fact that you'd picked us up, and to not worry as 'we've made sure it won't happen again.'" Looking worried, she asks "Did you get into some kind of trouble for the help you gave my squad?"

" Oh" Was all that Shep said with a dejected tone before putting the folder away. He huffed with a smirk," I understand. Maybe I'll see you before we get shipped out again then."
He rubbed at the bandages around his chest.

Thomas shrugged," It wasn't as bad as he made it sound. I just got his stern 'don't do that again or else' speech" He shook his finger for mock emphasis and smirked. " I just gave him a couple yessirs and he kicked me out to do my preplan. I hear you got a choice assignment."

Sam smiles, looking a bit relieved. "I'm glad to hear that." She chuckles quietly and shakes her head.
A frown of confusion comes over her face as she replies. "I did? Nice of the Colonel to tell me about it when he was scolding me." She sighs as she adds "That's just typical. It's not like I need to know what's going on or anything." Smiling in a tired fashion, she says "Thanks for the info. Sorry I interrupted you. I'll talk to you later."

Mariana looks over at Shep. "That is, of course, possible, sir." She says politely. Quietly, she closes the door and walks down the hall. As she walks, her composure starts to break and, moving quickly, barely notices when she rams headlong into McCain.
Picking up herself quickly, she wipes her face, saying, "Corporal? What are you doing here?" Trying hard to be stern.

McCain pauses for a second waiting for the pair to answer. Then when he turns to Mariana, "Well, I am trying to find out what group is heading back into Sung's territory and why." Once he is done with the pair he will step out of earshot signaling for Mariana to follow, "Do you know who and why?"
