A dim light like a distant fire approaches from behind the team from the direction of the plane.
Dante immediately has a very strong sense that something is out of place, and knows with certainty that the team is about to be attacked, and though he is just becoming aware of it now, he realizes that his psionic powers have missed something - something that has been hidden near them for a while.
When it gets closer the light is easy to see. Ionic's phoenix, which the team hasn't really seen every much, is now gigantic. Way over 50ft tall, the flaming phoenix seems to have a couple flaming arrows stuck in it. The shadow creatures back away from it, as if they fear its flames. With one look, Kris realizes: That was what Tiger's father wanted - a full size ring creature. Its power is apparent even visually, but Kris' senses tell him without a doubt that the phoenix is something amazing - yet something which he hasn't really sensed until just now.
Ionic stumbles into the area, moving awkwardly with three arrows in his back. "Strongbow..." He rasps, and sure enough, thunk! Another arrow hits him.
In the distance Strongbow dodges or elbows aside Shadow beasts, though there are at least fifty after her. All her concentration is on her bow, and shooting Ionic. Each shot looks impossible, around trees, under shadow beasts, but she draws her bow again and again and hits every time. The front of her armor is torn, and her helmet is gone - she probably doesn't have a radio anymore, just Jeckle's glasses.

*Jeckle doesn't think. she slides the coat off, sleeve getting caught briefly on the slingshot, then covers Ionic's back to give him some protection.
'can you say why?' *she chews something then lines up in her direction and then lets fly. planning on hitting the tree's near to where Strongbow is. she has to wait a little longer to have Strongbow in range to knock the glasses off and shatter them
Result of the throw of dice "1d20" : 11 = 11 -
*not the correct angle she knows, or a shadow beast just got hit, but she knows that nothing happened the way it was supposed to so far. either way, she'll have to wait and try to knock the glasses off again.
'why'd she turn on us?'

Ionic blasts Jeckle with an electrical ray at point blank range, sneak attack. (42 damage) "She didn't."
The phoenix stomps on Steefist with one massive taloned leg, and when it lifts it leg, shadow beasts swarm him while he is down. Glaurung is furious and blasts the beasts with fire to remove them, while at the same time whirling to face the Phoenix.
All the wounded shadow beasts seem completely healed, and even the ones the Glaurung reduced to ashes or Kris shot spring forward once more completely rejuvenated.

Kris was caught offguard by Ionic's turning on Jeckle. He summoned Khamai to do what the chameleon could as he brought up his rifle. He became furious as he aimed loosely and held down on the trigger, unleashing a long burst at his traitorous teammate. [dice=20+1] " Dante! Ionic is partly shielded by Jeckle's jacket, but he's hit, bleeding. But the wounds close before Kris' eyes, so fast its hard to believe he was hurt at all. Indeed, now that he has dropped his facade, its easy to see that Strongbow's arrows, while embedded, aren't seriously hurting him.
He ignores Kris' attack and sends a blast at Steelfist. The giant frog leaps back into view, and it tags Glaurung with its tongue, causing the dragon to crash to earth, asleep. Shadow beasts swarm the dragon and Steelfist.
Khamai rushes over towards where Ionic and Jeckle are, moving quickly yet still hard to see.

*Jeckle is hit and goes flying back about 5 feet before hitting the ground and curls up into a fetal position. shock setting in fast, she passes out
[OOC - i've been Evacuated out of town. i'm safe, but won't be able to post often until later. peace all, will have to see if/when i can log on again .. peace all ]

Dante is furious as he sees things unfold around him. He doesn't know what to do at first. Its as if someone wants them to all die and bring an end to this mission. He brings up a TK force field to protect Jeckle and Strongbow. He ignores every things else and charges Ionic.
He uses TK push to Knock Ionic off balance. He then swings for her head not pulling any punches since he saw her attack Jeckle.
(TK Push = 17 + 2 =19 [Force = PS=23] ISP = 4
Sword attack head = 19 + 21)
