*mentally goes thru the checklist the pilots might be going through IF it's a transport she already knows. otherwise, with the faceplate down to obscue her face from the others .. worries as to why they have a 'mascot'
*then runs through the list of the members and makes a 'priority list' of them in terms of who's the most important to extract before the next. Making sure to weigh the person's skills of importance against any emotional feelings. remembering at the last moment to throw up a mind block, just to keep the thoughts private, and to continue with the 'big, dumb lummox' facade most come to expect from her.
*then keeping with the facade, asks Shep as the rest board and buckle up for the transportation part of this trip.. 'excuse me sir. but what's a mascot?'

" A mascot? I guess it would have kinda been like the class clown of your training group, only worse. they get used to keep morale up. Why do you ask?" shep replied.
Stan patted Daebors on the shoulder as he passed. " It's not a good idea to tick off da officers before ya get a few runs under yer belt, kiddo." He looks at McCain as he climbed in the SkyHawk. " I bet y'alls a barrel of munkeys too."

*looks at Shep for a moment as if assessing him. 'ah, no real reason. just a word i ain't never heard before. sounded like it was being a bad thing was all. if'n it don't bug you that much, then i guess i aint got no real reason for worryin.
*a small pause then finishes with a .. 'i got told once by a training officer "if ya don't know sumptin, ask" .. meant no offense sir. so if its all right with you sir, i'll be callin you 'sir'. ya does outrank me afterall.
*then looks towards the others before commenting quietly to herself 'i hope there's bugs. i likes bugs. well, the little bugs'

Sam looks at the Colonel and replies "Sir, I was looking at Private Daebors' file, and there seemed to be a lot of discrepencies. Is there any information you can pass on to me so that I can prevent an exchange similar to the one that occured in the briefing?"

" Sorry luietenant, but I don't have the clearance to tell you the particulars yet." The colonel replied, pausing as a luietenant handed him a message. " And I've got more bad news." He turned and bellowed. " Stein, Smith. Front and center."
Once they were off the SkyHawk, Wallace adressed them both. " Stein, I have to pull you off this run. I need a grunt with driving experience for another mission. May your way to the motorpool garage Dismissed." Stein saluted and about faced for the other side of the bay. He turned to Smith. " And I've got another problem with you, a personal one. Seems a Leonard Smith has been associated with Sprite's forces. I need to know if this is an issue?"

He observes the departing soldiers and grows more puzzled, then begins to ponder if they are being setup to fail. After all why order men off the craft and further diminish the ranks of those going into the conflict zone.
He Observed the colonel for a time, the reflective front of his helmet obscuring his facial expressions. Finally giving his head a shake he returns to Pondering how to accomplish the mission without violating the charter of the Coalition and still complete the Job of Eliminating the Inhuman Evil among them.

McCain looked around as the people were pulled off the craft before they lifted off and let out a sigh of exasperation. He thought to himself, What is it with this damn outfit, this should have been taken care of earlier. If it is time to lift we need to go with or without them.

Sam sighs, looking frustrated at the Colonel's answer. 'Figures' she thinks to herself.
As Stein and smith are addressed by the Colonel, Sam closes her eyes and tries not to look as frustrated as she feels. 'Great, what else can go wrong?' she wonders to herself

Lynn's unseen expression darkens as his mind becomes a complex storm of confliction between his ordered duty, And his Core Training.
The evil was within arms reach and would be a simple enough matter to deal with, Except his given commands from the base commander had said that the 'Evil Person' was to be excluded for the time being.
Thus created the Paradox which plagued his mind, Would it be good business to Kill off the Member of the squad who was tainted as he was originally trained to do?..or must he leave them alone, and not attempt to eliminate them in the Field? He Figured it best for the time to await for orders. And focus on dealing with the Evil ones he was not commanded to treat as Protected.

Colonel Wallace answered for her. " Smith is going to sit this one out. Last thing we need is for her to become a burnout like you." He gave Marianna a salute. " dismissed, come find me in the morning." She nodded with a salute and walked away.
Shep gave Fraser a quizzical look.
Stan leaned forward in his seat, as he tucked a fresh piece of chew in his mouth." This party keeps getting smaller and smaller. Next thing you know, it'll just be the four of us."
Dyson looked around at McCain and Daebors. " would they do that?"

McCain decides that this is getting beyond the point of being ridiculous: "We are still a military outfit right? So if they tell you to go, you go. If they send one person against an army you still go. That is our job. So lets go and do this and quit worrying about it."
