"Oh, good." Mary responds with more sarcasm than she intended. "So, I can just tell him what he is to do now? Or will he ignore me to his grave?" She takes a breath and adds, more calmly. "I understand the position the LT's in, I'm just not satisfied that that... that Daebors is the kind of help she needs. Wait... did you say XO?"

He pauses suddenly in his research and gives a far off look for a moment then smiles again and gets a new sheet of paper and begins to write out a letter for the Bases scientists to consider as a pet project with him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Respectable Men and Women of Science; Advanced Weapons Department
Permit me a chance to present to you an idea Ive had. It is a well known fact that Light provides the most pertinent example of the dual nature of quantum objects; its oscillatory properties served to verify the electromagnetic theory, and its lumpiness, the photons, signaled the dawn of modern quantum theory. Our field radio receivers and power sources are all based on the ability of radiation to sustain well-defined frequency and phase properties.
On the other hand, each device containing or deflecting the radiation must be based on the absorption of radiation energy into the material medium. This energy is known to occur in packets, which are now called photons. Absorption of a photon will cause the creation of an excitation which may be amplified and detected. Since the work of the "Times before the Breaking", we know that the absorption of a quantum of radiation gives rise to one and only one photo emission electron from a solid. Thus the detector counts photoelectrons and not photons, and our information about the behavior of photons is always indirect. In the process of observation, the photon must be absorbed, and thus it is no longer available afterwords.
Detection of flaws in photon containment must be based on a consistent application of quantum electrodynamics. Thus all multi-photon systems must be based on the fact that, once a photon has been absorbed, the state of the field has been changed so that the next absorption event occurs against a different initial state than the previous one. In particular, a state with only 'n photons', can only have containment up to n:th order.
This implies the use of normally ordered expectation values for the containment breach detection processes. As the consecutive absorption processes are based on different states of the field, its state ought to be characterized by corruption factors to all possible contaminates, and the description in terms of faultily crafting is not sufficient. In particular, Beams like those by a consistent calculation of two-photon interference effects.
The development of masers and lasers, has provided high-frequency oscillators with a very narrow bandwidth when continuous-wave, single-mode operation is achieved. Owing to the action of the laser resonator, a line-width much narrower than the width of the transition can be achieved. The line-width and stability of the output will largely be limited by mechanical vibrations, acoustic noise etc. Such effects can be strongly reduced by locking the laser frequency to sharp interference fringes of specially designed, high-finesse passive interferometers using electronic feed-back.
A stability below the one million Hz level can be achieved. Such lasers can then also be locked to sharp atomic and molecular transitions. Considering that the developed powerful frequency stabilization schemes allowing fundamental measurements to be made, already exist scientific experimentation into proving this will be limited.
Atomic hydrogen is arguably the most fundamental atomic system one can study, allowing accurate theoretical calculations to confront precise experimental data. Colonel Schawlow described a first laser measurement of this kind on hydrogen, in which a narrow-band tuned laser, developed by him, could be used to resolve the shift in an excited atomic shells state. Schawlow has then, together with his scientists, pushed hydrogen application toward its limits in a sequence of experiments measuring the negative audible frequencies that the constant pitch shifts.
In Short Gentlemen and Ladies; I believe it possible to create a laser focused harmonics weapon which will be small enough to get classed as light weaponries and may be employed to turn any lightly shielded containment shell about a Radioactive mechanical system to suffer a breached containment and go into a meltdown. Thus limiting the need for massive head to head armed conflicts between lightly armored men and women in the field when faces with Hostiles in Large Power Armored Exoskeleton Battle Suits.
Private Deabor, Lynn J. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He takes the letter and folds it over once and slips it into an envelope and seals it tightly before standing up and getting himself ready to take it to the science department in hopes that they can makes a better use of the idea then he.
Sam blinks in surprise at Dyson's confession and she smiles gently at him and says "There's nothing to worry about, Dyson. You did nothing to embarrass yourself." Sam smirks "I'm guessing Marianna was the one who told you this." Shaking her head, Sam continues "I'd guess that she was just teasing. Whatever she told you that you did, it's not true." (tag)
" Yes, your Luiet. Fraser's second," Shep smirked," just don't try any cute stuff. I'm on attached duty, so you can't order me around. Technically, I don't even have to listen to the LT. "
Dyson sighed in releif. " That's good, ma'am. And how did you know I was talking to Sargeant Smith?"
Stan stopped in the corridor when he saw Daebors coming. " Hey 'dere kiddo. You make room for all my extra toys in your pack yet?" He flashed a stained smile. " Just kiddin' there, pal. But seriously, you ever had any hands on time with explosives?"
The assignment clerk looked at Private Stein, and handed over her orders, along with directions to Luiet. Fraser's quarters. " If you're lucky, you'll catch them before they hit the field. They caught their debreifing this morning."
Mary quietly mimcs back the "Technically, I don't even have to listen to the LT. " part. "You really should listen to her anyways." She says out loud. "She is a fair sight more level headed than most any other higher ranking officer I met." She finishes, walking out of the room with a grin.
'yes sir .. thank you sir .. i best get going then before they depart on me then sir' *gives a brief salute and then steps t the side and trots off down the halls and then stands outside the Lt's quarters .. to catch her breath. Breath caught, she knocks on the door and then steps back a half pace and holds the transfer orders in one hand and still is amazed at the fact that the chicken scratches mean something to others
" Didn't say I wouldn't." Shep replied as Mar left, watching her go. He shook his head. " I'm getting too old for this..." He muttered.
Taking a longer route to her room to clear her head, Mary starts going over the equipment she'll need to take with her for being in the field for a few days.
His eyes drift over to Stan for a moment as he is made the focus of some dialog, he forced a smile at the man.
"No i have had no past experiences with explosives, and in the future i doubt heavily i will ever have an interest on my own to study the mens to employ them in the field."
He looked from Stan to the long hallway, and back.
"Excuse me Corporal but i have a letter that must be dropped off.."
He steps past the man and tries to make his way to the science department and back to his room to gear up as swiftly as possible. If the distance is too great to make it there and back to suit up, He'll just leave the letter at the Com's department to get sent to there as part of the forms and mail. (Tag)
All her gear set, Mary makes her way to the supply office. "I'm going to need smoke grenades, 4 or 5, that can be shot from a rifle." She says. "Also, I'll need some tripwire, about 100 or 200 feet, a few clips and..." She looks to the ceiling trying to think. "Oh, and a few days rations."
Sam grins at Dyson "Just a lucky guess" she tells him.
Spotting the new face, Sam nods at her "Hi there, I'm Lt. Fraser. Is there something I can help you with?" (tag)
Once hes returned to his room, he takes a moment to secure the door shut and locked before he moves to the bed and draws a small grey box from under it. He unlocked it and removed one of three needles from inside the box and set to rolling up his sleeve after placing the needle down on the bed's clean sheeting.
He takes the needle and inserts it into the visable vein of the exposed arm and extracts a considerable ammount of blood, he then rolls down the sleeve and places the needle inside the box and relocks it before placing it under the bed.
Then takes up the gas mask from his small duffle he constantly carries when not in dress uniform, and holds it to his face with one hand while in the other he removed a spray-can of oil based paint and set to work on painting over his Standard Issue CS armor, first giving the Identifying marks a heavy coat then a fair spread over the rest of the armor, so it would seem to belong to someone other then a CS agent, and was now a dull grey armor rather then a flat black polish.
He collects the rest of his Equipment for his foot locker and begins to secure it inside the provided travel pack while he waits for the painted armor to dry enough to wear wihout risk of bleeding colors.
After a span of ten minutes hes well on his way to the Departure point as was the instructions from the debriefing. His armor now dried and sporting a series of duct-taped on utilities and smaller pieces of enquipment he may need.
*snaps a salute* 'Lt. Fraser. I'm reporting for duty ma'am. i'm Private Stein, here's my paperwork ma'am' *holds out the papers and then when they're taken, stands at ease and remains still, looking at the wall.
Seeing Daebors walk in looking like very grey, Mary raises an eyebrow, but figures it's not worth the hassle to ask why he'ld paint armour grey in a forest situation. She goes back to making sure her weapons are in working order.
