" No I didn't." McKenna snapped far too quickly. " He's a bore, and all he worries about is his precious ship." She answered, putting another piece of chocolate in her mouth too keep from saying anything else, though it didn't stop her as she added, " besides, he's made it clear I'm just an asset when needed."

"Mengsk to Bridge, he warm-up cycle has restarted, and it will half hour before it will able to help push. Engineering out." the engineer looked over specs once again and when reasonable certain let the engines be.

(Medical Bay) "I hired you as staff." Tawfeek says, entering in, nearly suddenly. "Not for social reasons. Of course I am going to treat you like an asset to the team. So long as you do your job."
Placing the injection majigger (patent pending) in the bio-waste dispoables can, he washes his hands. "Hopefully you will be sober by the time we get to Mare Imbrium. I'll need my doctor to fill out the workplace safety violations." Taking a piece of chocolate as he leaves, he adds, "Then we'll see how much assets are worth."
(Engines) The Starboard engine was starting to act up again, still being near full thrust. But nothing a skilled engineer couldn't handle. It was becoming increasingly obvious why Tawfeek wanted to keep at least 2 around at all times.
(Bridge) Sure enough, another freighter was on its way towards the Galaxy.
At about the same time, Tawfeek re-appeared, looking tired, and still in the light environmental suit. "Anything new to report?" He asked, keying on the holodisplay for empty trajectories.

When Tawfeek leaves the med bay, Jessica simply shakes her head at McKenna. She would have had more respect for the doctor if the doctor had just been honest instead of being so damned obvious and then lying about it. Shrugging she simply replies "I have things to do." Taking a last piece of chocolate, she leaves the med bay and heads back to her room.

" Wait, Jess." McKenna stepped out into the hall and called after Jessica. In a lower tone, she shrugged," Look, okay, he's not bad looking and I admit there's some attraction there. But so far I've got my foot in my mouth up to my knee because he's got a knack for showing up at just the right time. I wasn't trying to tick you off." She smirked a little," Next time, you bring the chocolate."

Jessica looks back at McKenna and shrugs. "It's about respect, and by lying to me the way you just did, you're showing me you have no respect for me or for my intelligence." Jessica doesn't look upset as she explains this in a calm tone of voice. Nodding in response to the chocolate, she replies "I can do that." Jessica then turns around and resumes heading back to her room so she can get changed out of her smoky clothes and into a clean long sleeved shirt and overalls.

Foreman looks over the Holodisplay that the Captain opens to determine an empty lane. He then maneuvers the Galaxy into an empty lane to avoid the incoming freighter.
"Nothing new Captain. Just entering some traffic, I think I found an empty lane for now."
Foreman toggles the radio and contacts Earthspace command, "EarthSpace command, this is Spacecraft Galaxy. Requesting access to an open lane. We have found a whole for the moment, but we will be requiring a valid approach vector soon."
After several minutes of not hearing back from Command, Foreman contacts them again and repeats the same message.

Like all engineers he double checks his work and tends to the starboard side. he reduced its power to the point momentum would keep them moving and set thrusters to assist in maintenance of thrust.
Now if the engine was linked to a central power control system..he'd be out of a job. the joy of zero gravity is an object in motion stays in motion he grins.
"stop acting up...I'm back." he talked to the engine.

McKenna frowned as Jessica walked away. She turned and started back towards the medical bay to tidy up. " Great, now I've ticked off the first mate too. This is turning out to be a wonderful career move." She sputtered as she opened the door and let herself in.

(Jessica) Not smelling like acrid smoke was itself a blessing. Of note, though, was that Deviss was nowhere to be seen as she moved on to her own room.
(McKenna) All the excitement done, the room looked mildly used, but certainly very quiet. At least the Captain knew how not to make a horrendous mess, like some other manager types in the same situation.
(Bridge) "Thanks for handling this." Tawfeek says. "Hopefully this won't put us too far behind." Taking the co-pilot's seat, he starts reviewing the route. "We will make for the original planned route. No sense in making this journey too long."
As he says this, EC responds. "Vessel Galaxy, our scans show your vessel to be at operational status, return to your original flightpath as soon as possible along the following route." And an image appears on Foreman's screen.
(Mensk) The Starboard engine quiets down. However, now, since they are being used more, the thrusters are showing more tear... It is beginning to look like a loss of speed is inevitable.

"No problem boss," says to the Captain, manuevering the ship to its original course.
Foreman toggles comms again and says, "Galaxy, understood, returning to original flight path."
Foreman follows the route they displayed for them guiding the Galaxy to its correct path.

Bridge, engineering, take it easy as were one engine. Mengsk out.." he radios and looks to find a more permanent solution...as getting a new engine was costly. Though he might be able to finagle one from a few sources he used in the past.

McKenna saw to the medbay to make sure everything was cleaned before heading off to her quarters to get cleaned up. She picked out a change of clothes after washing up that wasn't exactly ship attire, but nothing too showy. With nothing immediately to do, she decided to head up to the bridge, stopping in the doorway, " Premission to come on the bridge, Captain?"

Jessica raises an eyebrow and decides to look for Deviss to make sure he is all right, given he was exposed to the smoke for a longer period of time than she or McKenna was.

(On the bridge) "Understood Galaxy, Earthspace Control, out." Come over the speakers.
Tawfeek leans back, watching the other freighter be passed by several miles. "Our second job and I already need a vacation." He sighs.
Tapping the comm to Mensk's statement, he says, "Once we're out of the slingshot we will see if we can bring the thrust down."
To Mckenna's request, he turns, and says, "Yeah sure. Chairs are over there."
(Mensk) Tapping the comm to Mensk's question, he says, "Affirmative, but have Stephens watch the engine or engines or whatever until you're done here."
(Stephens) Using her security clearance, Jessica opens Deviss's door to see him packing his bags.
