3. The Moon - Mare Imbrum

[Renekin Skywalker]

(McKenna and Jessica)
As the pair enter into the galley area, they see the blue orb of Earth starting to dominate the large windows. The silence of space clearly evident.

An annoucement comes over the bridge. "View of a lifetime on the bridge for those interested." Says Tawfeek. "Foreman to the bridge. I need those engines ready to go in a heartbeat if we need a quick slingshot burn."

(Foreman)
While Foreman rests in his cot, he hears a similar announcement.

(Mensk)
After hearing the annoucement, Deviss looks at Mensk. "We're probable about to round Earth. Go one for a quick look, but be back fast, he doesn't call for a burn unless we need it... Wonder why he's so worried about this cargo..." With a dismissive shrug, Deviss makes his way to his own side of the ship.

[Dome]

Foreman rises quickly and cleans up rapidly and makes his way to the bridge. "Here I am boss. I'll start planning a slingshot course immediately."

Before sitting down he takes a moment to look out at earth.

[Mierin]

Jessica grins as she sees Earth coming into view. Turning to McKenna, she says "That's where I'm from." she tells her. "earth, I mean. It's a very pretty planet. Have you ever visited?"

[dakota]

" No, but I've heard alot about it. My folks were born there." McKenna replied, mesmerized. " It's beautiful." she looked at Jess," Can we go up to the bridge to see it even better?"

[kurff]

"Profit is a good motive." Mengsk shrugged, "But I'm guessing what we have is valuable to someone who wants it badly..." he did a system check and turn on a monitor.

[Renekin Skywalker]

Everyone looking out a window sees the big and growing orb of Earth. (To be honest, I suspect people would be able to see it all the time anyways, being in orbit around the damn thing... but this is just nice). But, as if that weren't enough, the thousands of satellites and ships circling in near orbit added an undefined sparkle to the view, like a mess of little stars glittering.

Mensk saw the pretty globey thing, but the screen was too small and the camera feed filtered, making the glitter not visible. Still, a very nice view.

On the bridge, Foreman notices the Gravimotromitor (you know, the device invented by Dr. Gravimotromit that can detect the gravitational influences of nearby spacial bodies, thereby reducing ship-to-ship collisions...) is showing that they're getting close to the slingshot field. "Foreman, we're getting close." Tawfeek says, reminding him of what the original flight plan was.

[Dome]

Foreman takes his seat and checks that the they were still on the course he originally plotted. He then guided the ship so that it could perform the slingshot.

" It's even more impressive up close like this." McKenna said. she looked at Jessica," I guess this is no big deal to someone from Earth though. To us growing up on the stations, Earth was always that mystical place you heard stories about."

[Renekin Skywalker]

The ship responded to Foreman's instructions without much concern. The course showed it was correcting even as the velocity was increasing.

In the Galley, the pair could see the spinning globe shift a little as the ship corrected its course, and sped up.

"OK. Attention, everyone." Tawfeek says, countering the pretty view outside. "This is the captain speaking." After a slight pause, he continued. "We will be touching down in the Mare Imbrium colony in a few hours. From there, we will be taking on some passengers to watch the cargo for its final leg. Stephens and myself will be the first point of contact at all times for the passengers. They are restricted to the cargo hold, guest area and the galley. Supplies are already waiting for us. We will be touching down then leaving right away. Stephens meet me on the bridge." And the speaker cut out.

[dakota]

" Guess the tour is over." McKenna shrugged. " You better get to the bridge, I have some unpacking to do anyways." She smirked," I haven't emptied my bags yet."

[Mierin]

Jessica nods with a polite smile at McKenna. "We can finish the tour another time. We got most of it done already." She then heads to the bridge to meet with Tawfeek and grins. "So, what's the plan?"

[Renekin Skywalker]

As Foreman pilots the ship to speed and the minislingshot, the vehicle visibly accelerates. With artificial gravity, it's not felt in the inner-ear, but is seen with the eye, as vessels and the planet move more quickly. (Also, Foreman's that smooth...)

So, anyone looking outside only casually feels slightly disoriented for the moment.

(On the bridge)
Flashy flashy go the "Everything's OK" lights on Foreman's console.

"Ah, that was quick." Tawfeek said to Jessica. "You heard the announcement. Find any free hands and make sure two of the rooms are made up. We'll be taking four passengers, so two rooms ought to be enough. Set up the doors to make sure they can only get where they need to... Give them key cards or something, make them think they're special."

(In the Galley)

McKenna gets the view of acceleration.

(In the engines)
While monitoring, Mensk notices that the engine output has not changed while gravity output seems to be compensating and the speed has increased. Slingshots are fun. Also, he hears a slight groan from the cargo hold.

[Dome]

"No problem at all boss. She responds very well."

[dakota]

McKenna watched for a few moments before turning and walking to her quarters to unpack.

(On the bridge)

As the ship accelerates into the slingshot curve, there is a warning light flashing on Dome's panel. Then, there was a slight rumble, and a small alarm starts beeping.

Also, the ship seems to be slowing down.

"What the hell was that?" Tawfeek says, his brow furring. "Stephens. Engines. Check it out, hurry."

(McKenna)
While unpacking, she hears the rumble, and the door out of her room seals shut automatically.

(In Mensk's Engine room)
The indicator panel is blinking wildly as the ship starts to slow.
