" It's not desertion when you're doing your job. It's more like showing a little initiative." Shep replied from behind her as they cleared the forest and stepped out onto the path. Ahead of them sat the Mountaineer , 100 yards away.
[Everyone else]
The lead aggressor leveled his rail gun on the cab of the ATV . " We don't have time for this . Wast... what the hell is that?"

In the distance behind them, a strange ring could be heard, almost like a church bell. It rang several times before being accompanied by a guitar playing the same mournful stanza over and over. Cymbals joined in as the sounds grew louder, soon followed by the tapping of a drum. " Dammit, not now." Sheperd cursed aloud, urging Mariana towards others as another guitar joined in. By the time the pair reached the Mountaineer, additional drums joined in, accompanied by a thrumming of the rotor blades of a helicopter.
The music became deafening as the lead in broke into the actual hard rock song and the Demon Locust gunship cleared the small ridge and swooped low overhead. The six armored figures opened up on the helicopter as it passed low enough for the music's bass to resonate off of armor. The helicopter swung quickly and returned fire, making the Calvary members to rethink their strategy and retreat.
When the gunfire subsided, a woman's voice came over the gunship's PA. " did someone order a cab?'
Shep only grumbled to himself as the helicopter touched down.

[ooc - yes, this was an homage to one of my favorite movie scenes, but I couldn't pass up an oppurtunity and it got things rolloing again.

Ellie Watches as the Gunship arrives. "I guess thats one way to make an entrance" she says to Mendez. Ellie follows Mendez's lead towards the Gunship.

Lobo looks at the fleeing group of soldiers with disgust, "Run home like a bunch of crying french schoolgirls why don't ya." Lobo fires of a shot into the back of the soldier he had been arguning with as he runs away.
OOC-sounds like AC/DC's Hell's Bells if I were to make a guess. Sorry I am late back in but I guess my notification was messed up.

Lobo slams his arm into the top of the APC leaving a dent, he grabs his rifle and jumps off the APC in Shep's direction, "Names Lobo, so who the hell are you?"

Ellie takes notice to the fuss behind her and walks over. " Welcome back Sir. I noticed you threw on some new armor. Gives you kind of a rustic look. Not bad" she says with a slight grin.

Rhys gets out of the ATV cautiously looking around as he has his CP-50 at the ready. Humming a bit of a song to himself. "Well good to see you made it Shep." as he looks towards the Demon Locust.
(OCC: For those in the group that would know pre-rifts music Rhys is humming Metallica's Harvester of Sorrow. And if I make a mistake regarding my Chara's skills or gear I apologize I have the chara on disk but no easy access to said disk since I don't have my own comp and I don't trust sticking my disk into strange slots)

"Oh," Ellie is forgot that Mariana wasn't with them during they're little excursion. "Well we were stopped by those armed fellows that ran away, but then the Gunship came and i guess you could say saved us.... I personally didn't see them as much of a threat. Not with the Juicey around anyways." Ellie looks to the Hellicopter as it lands.
"Sir," she looks to Shep "Who's that pilot anywho?"
