CH3: The Regault Foundation (Kendall)

[Dome]

"Doesn't sound like you were going to take no for answer, seeing as I said no 3 or 4 times since sitting down here. So what do you want me to do," he asks as he reaches out and grabs the file opening it and looking through the information inside.

[Renekin Skywalker]

Dorset smiles kindlyly. "Well, it was that or activate the brain chip we implanted, and, quite frankly, I left the controller in my other suit, so I did what I could." He says, smiling.

In the folder are a series of technical specs and maps. "What we were able to gather," He says, "was that the full plans and a computer prototype were stolen by a group calling itself Revenant. Unfortunately, the police investigation was unable to find anything more. And, as you know, with Industrial espionage rampant in the city, their caseload did not permit them to do as much as we would have liked."

Dorset sighs. "In any event, we believe that Revenant has taken the model and plans and have already implemented a human prototype. All we really need is to re-obtain the complete plans so that we can file the patent on the prinicple technology before Revenant does. Naturally, you won't need to steal their human prototype, we just want what was ours to begin with."

[Dome]

"What chip? That better be a joke."

After sitting and going through the file some he says, "So am I going into Revenant's facilities, or am I following the prototype?"

[Renekin Skywalker]

"You may have to track the prototype for a while." Says Dorset. "We're having trouble figuring out where their facilities are."

In the file is are some pictures of a guy, taken at a distance, who looks rather nerdish. "We were able to get this image. We think he is either the test subject, or an engineer from Revenant." Dorset says. "If he is as eager as we suspect, he may be both."

[Dome]

"Where and when do you want me to get started? And the that chip, a bad joke right?"

[Renekin Skywalker]

Dorset chuckles. "Oh, just a little cybernetic humour." He says. "You can start today, if you want, I'm fine with that. As for where, it may take some leg work."

[Dome]

"Sorry, My sense of humor left with one of my limbs. I'll start now, just give me a a starting point. I'll do the leg work, not my legs anyway, I just need to get a general idea of where to start."

[Renekin Skywalker]

Dorset nods to the file. "There's an older address in there, it may give some clues."

[Dome]

"Then I guess I'll be seeing you. Happen to have a manual for my gizmos on you? Would save me from having to go home and get it."

After being handed the manual, Kendall shakes Dorsett's hand with his left so as not to hurt the man with his Right bionic hand. He then leaves the Regault Foundation and heads directly towards the address in the file.

If Dorsett doesn't have a spare manual on file Kendall heads home and picks it up before heading for the address. Either way, when he finally gets to the address he will sit outside the place in his car and watch the building and review the manual at the same time.

While reviewing the mannual, Kendall figures out how to modify the gain on his arm and legs and other devices in order to improve performance.

The apartment building corresponding to Dorset's information seems rather iffy, as does the neighbourhood. Staying for too long may not be the wisest choice.

[Dome]

Peter comes across the section on his optics system. He discovers that he has telescopic vision associated with his implanted eye. He looks up and concentrates on activating his vision. He is able to activate it and zooms onto the building. He looks at all the windows he can and zooms in on each for a few seconds each trying to see if he can spot anyone. He also focuses on the front door and tries to spot out the doorbells knowing there would be a list of names next to each apartment number. If he spots one he writes down all the names and then drives off towards his home.

When he gets home he begins by simply googling every name he had found. If he had no names he starts by googling the address and seeing if he can get some names that way.

There were a list of names, a lot not English or even European... Also, a lot were blank. But, he managed to get about 20 names to search through... googling them all took a lot of time, since addresses and web references on Google aren't always easy to sort out.

Unfortunately, none of them seemed to point to the engineer/test subject... well except one, but it wasn't totally clear. However, there was an address....

He then visits the Century Station housing authority website. There he does a search on the new address, knowing that this site would show owner of the property, what type of building it is, any business licenses pulled for the address even the sale price and taxes paid on the site. Maybe he can get a lead through that.

The Housing Authority website provides information on a number of social housing projects, but nothing much on private addresses, which this one seems to be.

However, a second googling of the address shows up a student residence.

[Dome]

Kendall thinks things over to himself for a moment. 'What the hell am I doing? I'm not a detective. So far I have pretty much nothing. One possible name, a student. I'll never get any information from the college about him. The good thing is that if it is just a student then the possibility of them being part of Revenant is less. He could just be a hapless dupe. I'll go down and check out the new address.'

He puts on his work uniform, which consisted of Docker pants and a button shirt with his company name Kendall Communications. He then heads towards the new building. Once he is there he makes his way to the door of the place and again looks for the same name on the doorbells. Once he finds the apartment number, he gets into the building by saying he was a subcontractor for the phone company and needed to check out the main phone line for the building. Since he was really a subcontractor for the phone company he figures that he should have no problem getting into the building.

After that he makes his way towards the apartment. He knocks and if it opens he says, "hi there is a problem with the phone system in the building they asked me to check each room."

His whole goal is to get a look at the person that may be his target.
