Ch.28 facing a juggernaut (all)

"Uh-oh. Sounds like the old-timer woke up. Round two" Tom looks around for a contact number to contact Alice with, but then realizes he can just call the autoshop and ask for Tyler to relay the information he has just heard. Once he has done this, he uses his magnetic abilites to bring himself to the window, and looks for anyone in the alley. Once the coast is clear, he murmurs. "If this doesn't work, I'm going to be in a world of hurt."

Quickly he magnetizes one hand to the nearest support beam to get himself outside. Once his body is clinging to the outside of the building he releases the field and coverts to metal. Thus transformed, he leaps and climbs to the rooftops (again using magnetism to climb up the iron girders or using magnetic levitation) and scans the area for signs of danger.

*she chuckles as she exits. she has to get changed and do laundry .. and then decides to leave a change of clean clothes that have long sleeves and cover the legs and gloves.

*as much as she enjoys feeling air on her limbs, she realizes that she'll be covered up for the rest of her life. you never know when some reporter or stranger will show up on the doorstep.

Alice smirks and tells Tyler "Somehow I doubt that will do any good, but I'll try." She then hangs up the phone and runs her hands through her hair. At Dmitri's question, Alice looks around and realizing that Tom took off, curses out loud. "Bloody fool!" Sighing, she says "I don't know where he is or how to contact him."

The phone rings just after Alice got off the line, and Janie took it with a, " Are you serious? Okay, I'll tell them." She looked up at Alice," Your friend Tom just left a message at Tyler's. He heard somehow that Ragnarok is back on the loose."


" Crap, here we go again." Ashley muttered, grinning at Isamu. " And I get to play this time." Her grin faded, " But we left the cars near Ty's."

" Guess we're flying Transit Airlines again." He tapped the intercom," Sierra, where are you? We're leaving again."

No one saw Tom make his way to the rooftops. He couldn't see where the escape was taking place, but the police sirens were definitely moving west. Below on the street, a blur burst from the converted firehouse/auto repair shop (think Ghostbusters only two bay), only to stop half a block away. There was no mistaking Alice's friend Jason, even though he was now dressed in some sort of body suit. He was seemingly doing the same thing Tom was.

*toggles the intercom* 'in the laundry. why? .. whats up? ... '

*she closes the door so the sound is somewhat muffled and looks about. she shakes the head and wonders IF it will ever be better?

"He is out again? We must try and stop him. We will more than likely have to let Alice disable him. No matter what we seem to do, he shrugs it off."

Alice is very quiet as she tells the others "I don't know if I can do it again. I used up almost all of my energy beating him the first time, and I've had no time to rest afterwards. I guess if I try to meditate, I can build up some energy." Alice thinks to herself 'I just hpe it'll be enough' It does occur to her that she should kill Ragnarok, but she just couldn't kill anyone.. she just couldn't. Having the childish urge to run away and hide, she gets back up again and gets ready to go, though it doesn't take long since they'd only goten back a few seconds ago.

"Perhaps you should save your energy then. If the rest of us attack him from all sides we may be able to wear him out enough so that if you need to get involved, your involvement and energy use can be minimized."

Tom immediately begins moving west. He will leap across the rooftops, occassionally using his ability to repel metal and his magnetic powers to propel him farther than he would normally be able to leap.

Janie sounds a bit withdrawn as a television story caught her eye, " Alice, I know you don't want to, but you better see this." The story was a live feed from a news copter that was following the movements. The reporter was blabbering on some wild meta conspiracy / invasion theroy while the camera kept panning back and forth between two meta. One, jumping on the rooftops, was definitely Tom. The second was a blur of movement, only recognizable when he stopped. " Looks like Jason made a full recovery." Janie muttered.

" I can open the portal back to the park to save some time. " Dmitri suggested. " And Sierra and I can carry some of us."

" Si, don't ask questions unless you want to miss another go at Ragnarok." Ashley said into the intercom, then smiled at Isamu, " I got a plan. You go with Alice, I'll get our backup plan."

Tom's leaping had gained him some unwanted publicity as a newscopter followed him, i't attention diverted between him and Jason below, who had also noticed the rooftop leaping and was pacing himself so he stayed on course. But he finally lost interest in the game and met Tom at his next landing. " We gotta lose this tail. If you can get yourself down to street level, I'll lead the paparazzi away and double back to meet you. Otherwise we might as well wave a big 'He we come' sign to Rags."

*Si moves into view and is doing up her jacket once again. 'fine .. no questions. gimme the orders then'

*the faint smile shows she's a little irked just now about something, but that vanishes as she asks Janey 'could you sorta toss the stuff in the dryer when its done? ... i just tossed the t-shirts and stuff together. thanks'

*she puts her gloves on and wonders if 'hoodies' would work or make them all look like thugs .. and decides against trying to help with that. 'someone should take that reporter for a flyby ... and leave then on the roof of a stadium or something ... sorry .. that was kinda petty' *as her eyes track the TV commentary

Alice sighs and starts to rub her temples, even though she didn't have a headache. 'Bloody fools!' she thinks to herself in less than 5 minutes. 'Don't they realize that acting recklessly, they're just making things worse?' "Kristian probably had a lot to do with that." she tells Janie quietly. Looking over at Ashley, she asks "What's your backup plan?"

Alice nods at Dmitri "That's probably a good idea, though we really do need to be cautious. The last thing we need is to go through the portal on live television."

Tom nods as he leaps down to the street. Locating the metal in the city streets (re-bar, sewage piping, etc.) he uses magnetic levitation to increase his speed up to 20 mph (which is far faster than he can run or leap) to approach Ragnarok more discreetly.

'so who do i give a piggy back to and carry then?' *she looks at the others*

'what? ... i can copy so .. Di opens a gateway and flies out . i follow ... we go fast enough no one will spot us .. and the portal close ... right?'

*she closes her mouth and waits and leans against the wall and crosses the ankles while waiting. her fingers tap against the jacket sleeve and then she speaks 'i'm gonna grab some fruit for when this is over. be right back ... ' *she turns to leave the room.

" They'd see us, but not get a good look." Dmitri almost seemed to be agreeing with Sierra's suggestion. " If sierra takes Isamu, I can drop Ashley off and you and I will catch up." He said to Alice.

Ashley shrugged," I know you won't like it, but your the only one with powers that seem to affect Ragnarok. so I'm going to the firehouse to ask for help from the only other psychic we know. Provided Trevor will even open the door to let me talk to Torment."

Tom could here the helicopter turn off to the south after a moment and then begin to move off. Once it was out of hearing range, a blur buzzed passed him and Jason stopped, blocking the path. " Now, what are you doing, going after Rags by yourself? I've got a score to settle with him. What are you doing besides trying to get killed?"
