Alex beamed at his uncle's compliment, but the quick dismissal with the woman's approach raised a bit of concern. "Yessir." He said flatly before getting in the back seat. He looked at the individual who was forced in the back seat with him. He smiled slightly, "Don't do anything stupid."

The Goon was too busy tending to his own wound to give Alex a response. Overhearing her words, Alex was surprised when she referred to his Uncle as "Uncle Lex" - you don't recall any other relatives...
The Hunter found his senses sharpened by the arrival of the woman; There was something about her he couldn't place - something unlike anything he felt before, but feel totally overwhelmed in her presence.
The old man chuckled like a stalled engine at Charlie. "You could, you could indeed. You want a scoop?" He straightened his shoulders. "Car is already full. I would put man in trunk, but he is wounded - would not survive. You have an option?"

"Uncle...?" Alex started to turn to look to see if he recognized the speaker. It was not his sister he was certain, and he had no cousins he knew of, so he had no idea who she was. Then it occurred to him it made more sense not to give away his secret and he stayed facing away from the woman so she could not identify him.
"How about the lady is the first to leave so we can get out of here before the cops show up." Alex suggested.

Charlotte shrugs, nonplussed. "I can tell when I'm not wanted. See you around." Charlotte then turns around and walks away, intending to head back to work to write about what had happened here.

Uncle Lex huffed. "Bah. And here I thought you were determined." He looked at the car. "You want a real story? Meet us at the Lexington warehouse. 30 minutes." He slammed the car door as he drove off.
The goon grunted with each bump; Alex and the Hunter could tell that Lex was not making any efforts to make the drive more comfortable. "Let me know when he is ready to talk about his employer." Then he cast an eye to Alex. "You have questions, yes? You will be patient, and I will provide."
Charlotte walked back to find the place swarming with police of all kinds - not just uniformed cops but also FBI men; they were easy to recognize with their clean shoes and large fedoras shading their eyes. Out of the corner of your eye you could see a quartet of officers taking away the goons from the tower. Something seemed off; the uniforms on these cops were ill-fitting and the cloth was new. There was also the fact that they were being taken inside one of Powell's buildings.

"Yessir." Alex replied as Lex told him to wait.
Though injured, the goon chuckled as Alex was subservient. Annoyed, Alex waited until his uncle turned his way, then shifted his weight so he leaned his shockingly heavy frame into the goon, which made the man cry out. When Lex gave him a look in the mirror, Alex was sliding back to his side, "Lost my balance in the turn. I'll be more careful. Don't want to squish him yet."
He could not help grinning as the goon looked at him. At the same time, he caught Lex' slight smirk as he shook his head slightly.

"I'm sure his injury is doing a fine job reminding him of why he's with us, and not the police."

Charlotte keeps her face neutral as Lex gives her the address of where they're going. The truth was she had planned to follow them from the air discreetly, but this made it much easier. "See you then."
Charlotte isn't surprised to see the FBI with the police given what had happened. She is surprised when she realizes how new the cloth is and how the uniforms don't seem to fit. What in the world? Charlotte wonders to herself as she uses her telepathy to scan the minds of the police to see what they are doing.

Charlotte is able to pick up the surface thoughts of the nearest "cops"
Mr. Powell wants to know who these guys are and why they are targeting his project. Eh, who cares? I'm going ot enjoy beating on these clowns. Geez for a multimillionaire who went to all the trouble to make these fake cop outfits, could he have sprung for a better fabric? This thing itches! I almost feel sorry for these guys; I mean, I don't really want to go to war. My daddy would tell me stories about the last one after he finished with me and his belt. Maybe I can loosen the cuffs a bit? I'd rather be beating those commie bastards trying to start a union. Not on my watch!
Alex, the Hunter and Uncle Lex arrived at the warehouse with their prisoner. Bringing him inside, the smell of the dust and disuse of the old building hit the Hunter's senses. There were a few chairs. One of which was occupied by the saboteur driver as Lex tossed him into it.
Uncle Lex looked to the Hunter. "Do you wish the honors? If not, I can. Or him," He gestured to Alex. "though that option will be short, and quite messy."
The Driver groaned. "Hey? Can I get a band-aid or something? Water, even?"

Charlotte blinks but, deep down, she isn't really surprised. Something had seemed off with Powell from the beginning of the press conference. Of course, she couldn't take this to the authorities. 'Excuse me Officer, I think Mr. Powell is trying to start a war. How do I know that? Well, naturally I read the minds of the fake police officers he hired! Charlotte shakes her head. That'll go over well. Charlotte looks for a way she can follow the men without being detected, looking up to see if there's a window she can get to.

"I can restrain myself. Sometimes." Alex smirked as he removed the brace we wore as a disguise now instead of a support. Being completely free of it felt much better as he stretched his arms. He was far from an imposing figure, but he could not help the look on the prisoner's face as he tightened both hands into fist until his knuckles protested with loud cracks. "I have an idea, you tell us what we want to know, and then we will get you some water and patch you up. Or if you're stupid and want to suffer, we can play games until you want to answer," He smiled persuasively, "Who put you and your friends up to this?"

Charlotte could see the "cops" were dragging the saboteurs into and administration building - she could see several open windows on the first and second stories.
Uncle Lex looked at his young protege. "I have told you that brute force intimidation is very old fashioned, but rarely effective." He looked at the prisoner. "Yes, my friend could throw you off a roof, Or simply jump very high and let you drop. But then you would be dead and of no use to us." He rubbed his chin. "No, that's not entirely true - perhaps you have a driver's license? You were the wheel man. That would give us information, if for no one else, then a family -"
"We got hired! It was a German! Said he wanted to stop the war! He paid in cash!" The prisoner shouted out.
He looked over to Alex. "Now, ask the man questions nicely while I go patch up our friend here." He took the Hunter to the back to clean and patch his wound. "Now this will sting..."

Shrugs when the wound is cleaned and patched, acting like the gunshot wound is trivial, at best. "Thank you for the work. I believe taking up field medicine is my next priority. Usually I hire guides with such expertise."
