29. Freedom Station.

ON the newsfeeds as the group walks towards the docking area.

“… between Dominion supports and independents in the colony has security on edge. Chief of Security Jones said that no more violence would be tolerated from either side and that any events will be dealt with swiftly. Even, as he says, if it means shutting down essential services.

In Economic news, uncertainty over Dominion activities on Earth and in space has made businesses more cautious. As a result, unemployment rates have been rising across the system. Ambassador Gurlz has offered to look into the matter, though he has been rebuffed outside the Dominion.

Lastly, Jung Davor, a founding member of the Dominion has gone missing. He was last seen in the new entertainment section of Freedom Station. Security on Freedom are looking into the matter…”

“It’s an AEVAS transport,” Foreman said, as they rounded a corner and the ship docked at AA5 came into view. “I wonder if it’s authentic.”

"Well, there certainly seems to be enough people applying," Jessica said, looking at the line. "Must really be tough times."

Jessica walked past the line of potential employees to read the docking information. She returned a little later with a quizzical look on her face.

"It says that a company called Federate Work is looking for employees for a shippped called The Galaxy's Eclipse" She explained.

"That's a bit of an eerie name, considering all things." McKenna said, glancing at the lineup. "I'm not sure it's worth the effort with a line up like that, not to mention I don't want to crew on another ship with the same name. Not after things ended the way they did." She folded her arms, looking at the transport.

[kurff]

"I'd be happy with either of the choices." the engineer shrugged, "Though that new engine design my contact mentioned was curious.."

"New type of Engine?" Jessica said.

Dome looked over the line. "I'm still on how Mensk has contact--"

"Pip pip," Said a somewhat familiar voice down the hall. It was Airlock Pirate.

"He said you'ld be here." He said, as he got closer. "My good man, as it were whatfor done asked me to come before yous et all. He did do for me to say that all ye are to be packing what materials and personal momentos are yers and ta bring'em, if you're willin'... Dunno why you'ld be unwillin' to not be going away from this, but as we were." He paused. "Oh yes, Dock AA23. If it pleases ye. He did, afore finishing to mention that discretion from authorities would be needed."

He rubbed a hand on his overalls. "Now, wherebe a sink." And off he went.

"What the hell is he doing here?" McKenna asked as the pirate walked away. "Most of what he said makes less sense than when Mensk starts blabbering on with his technical jargon." She looked at the pirate again and shook her head. "If he's gonna be there, then I'm not sure I wanna check out the ship in AA23. His lot wasn't exactly the best hosts we've been entertained by."

"And here I left Pirate to English guide at home.." he grinned, "As for my contacts that is a corporate and trade secret. One day if I convince him I'll invite them over for a game cards.." the engineer told foreman.

"Ya jess, one the new engines probably slated for the new generation of star ships. and likely to be bought by the dominion and other major powers. I'm curious what there based on..and what they intend on using them for exactly. Warships or civilian. I'm betting on the first considering the most likely buyer." mengsk replies careful not to speak too loud.

Foreman turned his attention down the hallway he had come.

"OK, guys," Nudging his chin in that direction. "Who did we upset this time?"

Coming towards them was a squad, or at least a very squadish-looking group of 4 persons. All boldly wore a dominion-emblazoned uniform.

Jessice pursed her lips, thoughfully. "No clue."

Upon spotting the group, the Dominion squad headed towards them. One of them brandished a databad. Another pulled out what looked like a taser.

"Scatter," Jessica said. "Meet up at AA23."

"I guess no was the wrong answer in the club." McKenna replied as she saw the group of men approaching. When told to scatter, she headed away from the others and the squad at a brisk pace. Compared to the others, she was the least capable of defending herself against the Dominion goons. She also knew she had to circle back to collect her medical bag before meeting the others

"Right..Hide.." he looked an out the way spot to then met with the group at the appointed spot.

Because he went straight there, Kurff was the first to arrive at AA23. Xerox was waiting.

"Where are the others?" he asked.

McKenna
When she arrived at her quarters, she saw a pair of Freedom security guards standing at the door.

Foreman came up behind her and dragged her around a corner.

"I think they need a distraction," he said.

"What did you have in mind?" McKenna replied, collecting herself after being caught off guard by his dragging her aside. "You're faster. Why don't I get their attention so you can slip in, grab my bag and catch up?

[kurff]

They'll be here. They are how shall I say it? motivated.." he replied calmly, "Patience is its own reward..or so I'm told." he glanced around taking in the vessels and people around him to ensure safety of himself and others on his team. The notion of an ambush was less likely, but that did make it impossible.

Mensk
Xerox looked up and down the hallway.

"Then we may be too late," he sighed. "I can only give them a few more minutes. Let's hope Freedom men get them first."

Mckenna
"You know what you're looking for," Foreman said. "And I can hold my own with a couple of rent-a-cops. I'll be the distraction."

As the were talking, the guards received a communique. THey picked up their visual scanning.

"I guess they heard about Jessica," Foreman said. He let out a grin. "On your mark."

"Fine," McKenna said, a bit nervous, " but don't you dare get caught. If I have to miss that job to stay here to get you out of a holding cell, I am gonna be pissed at you." She warned before giving him a light kiss on the cheek.

"Caught? All I'm doing is walking," Foremand said, leaning a little into the kiss. "See you in a few."

Foreman got up and walked towards the guards. When he was almost noticed, he did an ostentatiously bad attempt at hiding who he was.

"Hey!" Said one of the guards, causing Foreman to run. The guards followed, leaving McKenna's door available.
