Chapter 26

Johnny is sure some of the other bikes need maintenance but he starts nothing he can't finish up quickly, in case the bikes are needed quickly.  "More hostility around here than on the field of battle."  Johnny says to himself as he gets busy doing one of the things he does know well.

"Uh... Hi?" Spider-Man rubs the back of his masked head and puts his backpack down on the ground near the kitchen. "Did I inter..." Suddenly left alone again, he awkwardly says "Oooookay." He looks around for a friendly face.

Entering the room, Gabby can't help but throw up a salute at Cap. It had been drilled into her that she had to do that every time she saw him, so she never failed to do so. Looking surprised when Clint asked her if she or Blink had just done something. "Look, buddy," she tells Clint, "if you look at my PC sheet you'd see that I don't have the ability to do anything like that." Crossing her arms under her chest, Gabby asks, "Are you telling me we have a bonafide mystery to solve?"

Cap checks the controls, trying to determine what has happened to Logan. "Get Dr. Foster in here - I need to understand what's happened."

I think you will find many things are different here Blink, but remember you are not in this alone. Tabitha is a stranger in a strange land as well. Perhaps stranger if you consider her parents are her own age here, and have inklings of having children, so she will never exist in our world. And I have heard you have a female Deadpool. My word, I thought one was too many. Hank replied followed by several laughing emoticons. There was a pause, before he continued, It is only quiet here because most of the X-men are away on a miission. Only a few of us are here waiting on the Professor's help before we depart as well. If things are quiet for the Avengers, do not complain. Enjoy it, it occurs far too infrequently.

"Check your what?What the heck is a pc sheet? More paperwork we have to stay on top of? Clint asked, confused by Gaby's reply, " Steve, all I did was cue up Jennifer's dance program so once they started fighting, it would have turned the place into a dance hall. I...," he trailed off as Steve gave an order. He pulled out his communicard, "Bill, need you in the simulator control room."

"Aren't we leaving soon?" Bill replied.

"We've got a bit of a situation here to deal with first. Need some help." Clint replied into the communicard before slumping into a chair with a look that gave away he was questioning himself. "Yeah Gab, we got a mystery all right."

Bill Foster arrived after a moment, "What's up?"

As Spidey starts to leave to find the other Avengers, everything went quiet in the mansion. Then Spidey could hear something from the kitchen. It almost sounded like... sobbing?

"Excuse me Mr. Blaze," said a voice from behind Johnny. "I am uncertain if it is wise to tinker with Logan's motorcycle without his supervision. He tends to be a bit grumpy by times." Jarvis said, carrying a large paper bag. "On the other hand, the white one belongs to Hawkeye and has a bit of a misfire, which I know he would be appreciative if you could solve." He suggested with a smile.

"Hawkeye cued in a program and we've lost track of Wolverine - I need to know what happened and if we can track him with a communicard or any other device." Cap responds.

"Alone is not the problem. we all lose something at somepoint. The Difference between me and tabby is how we cope with loss. I don't see the loss of my world as all bad. I know two things from my travels. Loss is not an end,only a new beginning and considering your worlds version of me is dead I'm already at loss here too. I need to reinvent myself Make my own legacy as not insult anyone else's memory of her or try and live up to another person. Some people here might be sensitive to the idea of me using her name for starters. But back to the subject of tabby. I did say if Tabby wants to talk I was here. Our DP here seems alright..strange, but not the kill'm all type of DP I've encountered before in the crystal palace and in other realities thankfully. You probably have some mission preparation I should let you go. and for the record...keep in touch. I could use a nice conversation now and then. Speaking of ordeals..After that savage land mission if you need to get out and have fun let me know...I'll join you I could use a vacation too. *smiling/winking Emocon*" She answers stretching closing the window on her heroes and villians research.

Once he has responded the mutant was now bored and looked at the wallpaper on her computer monitor. There had to be something going on somewhere. Standing up and checking she was dressed properly and her "Tokyo storm Warning" t-shirt and jeans were not a mess left. The monitoring room had to have something..that or it was to make her own pirate radio station as 'Howling mad Murphy' and see if the FCC really did have a bomb called tha 'hammer.'

Once in the monitoring room Blink looked around should anyone be there speaks to them..

"Howdy, anything happening? Seems pretty quiet and from what beast said these times are rare so whne they happen I expect something to be up." the woman says as she looked around.

Johnny not looking from his work.  "I wasn't tinkering.  Merely proper maintenance.  Checking spark plugs connections, topping off the tank, making sure the carburetor is clean, nothing that can't be finished in a couple of minutes, tops, if the owner needs a bike.  Thanks for the top on the other bike.  I will check that one out next."

[Mierin]

Gabby waves her hand at Hawkeye when he asks about her PC sheet. "You must not have access to it. Don't worry about it." she explains. When she receives confirmation that they do have a mystery to solve, Gabby's grin grows and she pumps her fist. "All right!" Turning to both Cap and Hawkeye, she says, "Don't move! I'll be right back!" Gabby disappears for a few moments and, when she returns, it's clear that she's changed her clothes. Now she's wearing black jeans and a red blouse and instead of sneakers, she's wearing black flats. She's wearing a tan trench coat and a deerstalker hat on her head. In one hand, she's carrying a magnifying glass and the other, a pipe. When she puts the pipe in her mouth and blows, bubbles comes out of the pipe. Grinning at everyone, Gabby asks, "So, what do we have so far?"

Spider-man peeks his head around the corner of the kitchen to discern the source of the crying. "Uh, Tabitha? Ghostsabre? You alright?"

Feel free to text me anytime. I do indeed have some preparations to make. Glad you are doing okay then. A vacation would be a wonderful idea, but we both know they do not turn out well LOL Be safe Beast replied before Blink turned to leave the room.

She found a group gathering in the control room, Gabby dressed like Sherlock Holmes and the others at the computer terminal. Hawkeye looked at Gabby and shook his head in disbelief, clearly at a loss for words.

Bill Shook his head before answering Cap, " Uh yes, there s a tracking device in his communicard. I did an upgrade after the Arcade incident.What do you mean, lost track?"

"As in a flash of light and he was gone. I thought at first Blink and Deadpool had pulled some sort of practical joke on Logan at first." Hawkeye said , the looked at Blink and shrugged, " Sorry."

Bill switched computer terminals and began tapping keys. "See what I can come up with. Give me a few minutes."

Jarvis shook his head. "You misunderstand Mr. Blaze, I doubt anyone will require their motorcycle in a hurry. More likely something will occur that prevents you from finishing for some time. The Avengers have a habit of such things occuring you will soon learn." He then adjusted his hold on the grocery bag and left the garage.

Spidey's spider senses weren't tingling, but he had seen MJ upset enough times to know Tabitha was upset. At first the kitchen seemed empty, but closer inspection he could follow the sobbing to find her sitting on the floor around the end of the island with her arms wrapped around her knees to pull them tight to her chest. she quickly wiped her eyes and snuffed as she realized he was there, trying to hide she was upset. " Uh, hi." She snuffed again and said softly. "Please Mr. P, I don't need any of your lectures about letting my emotions get the better of me. I...," she paused as she rubbed her eyes again, " ever have that feeling that no matter how hard you want to, you just don't belong somewhere despite how hard you try? For the first time in a long time I've found somewhere I really want to fit in, but everyone I try to get close to leaves or worse. It's no different than the Exiles."

"Alright, Bill." Cap steps away from the computer and folds his arms, trying not to pay attention to Gabby.

Spider-Man walks in and sits down on the floor across from Tabitha. "Hey, no lectures here. I know that feeling all too well. Ever since I started doing this, the Daily Bugle has been trying to make me out to be some horrible villain who's ruining New York City. Everything I do has some sort of ulterior motive for it. No matter how many people I save, I'm still a menace. Makes it hard to feel safe. And I couldn't tell you how many people have left or worse." He pauses for a second before standing up. "Let's see what's in this fridge. Stark has gotta have the proper snacks for a situation like this."

"No need to appologize to me. I was an exile. Not easy dealing with some of the Exiles." she answers, "And if we are being honest? if I did prank he'd be mile away or on the Blue area of moon if I were part of that prank. If you do something do it right. We have Inhumans here right?" Blink grinned.

"Telling by DP's attire we have a mystery. One involving teleporting...by the mention of my name?" she looked at bill and Hawkeye, "Perhaps it might be....." she paused.

"Bill, are you checking mansion sensors for left over signs of interdimensional or inter reality travel? If not maybe you should. Sabertooth and I ran into a bunch of sabertooths, the X-men also have had Havok dissapear as well. Sabretooth mentioned something about a fight to the death until there was just one sabretooth left. why? Logan and Sabertooth for melee combat and havok for ranged? If someone were makng a team similar to the exiles..I'd want them. and that battle to the last would weed out the weak.." she thought outloud.

"why one would want such a team I can't say but I have a few ideas. Sounds like something that takes a lot of planning though. They'd need to be big or have lots of power to back them up to keep sabretooth in line. There might also be an X-men connection so far its all X-men or former X-men that seem to have gone missing. It might have been Hydra as one of the sabretooth's wore a Hydra suit. That could be pure chance too. I can see a variant of sabretooth working for hydra. This looking less like hydra and more someelse because all the targets so far are X-men. I'm not removing hydra from my shortlist. Or AIM for that matter both have have been known to work for others. Is there anyone else that might kidnap X-man and have interdimensional or teleportation to there access?" Blink nodded as she looked around than back at bill, "We can try and get a hold of the Palace and see if the Time Broker has anything if you can't find anything. If anyone has something to add feel free to...I feel like I missed something.."1d20·1d20·1d100

The flash made Wolverine close his eyes , and when he opened them, he was no longer in the training room. In fact he was no longer in the mansion. He was on a farm by the looks of things, and he was not alone. There were at least seven other men present, and all of them looked similar.

"Thank you for coming gentlemen." A voice boomed overhead. " The eight of you have been selected to decide who will be my champion. The rest of you will not. If you prove worthy, I will send the losers home."

"And what if we don't play your game, bub?" One or the other Logan's replied.

"Then we will see how well the healing abilities of those that refuse work in the heart of the sun where even your precious adamantium will burn." The voice replied. "Now, begin!"

There was another flash of light causing Logan to blink, and he was outside the barn, facing a bearded version of himself not twenty feet away, with his claws already extended.
