It was intended to be a pleasant gathering. A social. Even most criminals were not so gauche as to act up on Halloween.
It was to be a nice ball. Matt has asked Vivian for a dance. Several of the young debutantes had approached Rex. And Lex? Lex was just taking it all in and even starting to enjoy the music.
And then a bunch of weirdos in black outfits sprung out of nowhere carrying swords, quarter staffs, and a couple even had a pair of sticks with a chain attached.
They immediately laid into the crowd without warning or demands: attacking for the sheer glee of the chaos unleashed.
So much for that pleasant evening....

Tetsuo, after these ninja's appeared and began attacking those gathered, ducked aside and donned the masked he always carried, that would have to be enough for now. He stepped out into plain view, his walking stick (quarter staff) in hand, and addressed (in japanese) the scum like the disrespectful children they are. "If you seek a fight, then you have found one! Leave these people be. Make amends for your dishonor here and face me!" The masked (is that only 1 eye hole in the mask, it's hard to tell with the mask being all black and no apparent trim around the eye hole(s).) figure is dressed in clothes of a far eastern style. Tetsuo readies his quarter staff and assumes a combat posture. (MA 16 so even if they don't understand my, for some reason, I should get their attention hopefully regardless.) dM8KNnkR1d100(Missed by 3, maybe making an entrance will help a little .) 1d100

Vivian is confused and annoyed equally when she sees the display going on in front of her. Couldn't she have one nice evening without a fight breaking out? Realizing she was channelling her mother, Vivian sighs and then thinks, 'Are they wearing... pyjamas?'
Out of habit, Vivian heads to where Lex is and asks, "How do you want to handle this?"

Lex had been being politely social while working his way around the room, and had been seriously caught off guard by the attack. He was trying to find a way to slip out when Vivian approached. "I'm not sure Kiddo, I didn't want to take any chances and everything is locked in the truck. You're better at this hand to hand stuff than me, I just shoot things most of the time. We need to find something we can use for weapons, or find a way out. Have you seen Matt or Rex?" He asked, starting to look for them but distracted by whoever it was that decided to fight back with a cane.

Rex recognized the attackers as Japanese ninja warriors - assassins and stealth fighters, but he could discern little else.
Matt stood next to Vivian. "I say we fight. I got an iron on me, but not much else. I can cover whomever needs it." He looked to Lex and Vivian.
The ninjas began forming a circle around Tetsuo.
Matt whistled. "Reckon best decide quick. I don't know who that fella in the mask is, but I don't think he'll last long against those numbers."

The one masked individual, not fitting in with the rest, readys himself for a siege from all sides. Not standing still but constantly on the move, erratically so. "Who will be first to face me?" The Ninja asks in Japanese.

Lex shrugged , then nodded to Matt's suggestion. "All right, let's bust up this pyjama party." He smiled, picking up a chair. It was not much of a weapon, but it was solid, so it would hurt if he connected. He started forward as he saw Rex throw something from off to his left.
If he can get close enough, he will try to clobber the closest of the ninjas

The Ninjas were prepared as they evaded Tetsuo's strikes and slashed into him.
3d6+15 (Damage)
Just as he seemed overwhelmed, some of the patrons attacked them, buying you room to breathe. One man smashed a wine bottle across the back of a ninja's head, as another did the same with a chair. A third man wrapped one of the attackers with a tablecloth and then laid him out with roundhouse right while letting out a "YIPPIE-KI-YAY!"
The ninjas reorganized, recognizing all the attackers now.

Lex still had part of his chair left after slamming the ninja, holding a remaining leg like a baseball bat. "Evening boys, looks like you forgot your dance partners." He knew if he could get close enough to grab a downed opponent's weapon that he would be in better shape, but the chair leg would have to do. He made a feint as he sidestepped to spread out a bit from the others, then switched to a defensive pose with the leg more in a sword parrying position.

Vivian is able to find assorted silverware, an unopened champagne bottle, and other dinner implements.
Tetsuo is able to evade his attackers, but his counterattack hits nothing but air.
Lex, the ninjas begin to face you, weapons drawn.
