As the trio arrived on the bridge, the alarm ended.
"Exiting hyperspace," Captain Alio reported. "Take your positions."
The co-pilots had already taken up gunnery and sensor positions.
There were no droids left on the bridge, except M-3TO.

GM addition: it should be noted that the jump has so far taken a quarter of the expect time for a jumpmfrom Hoth to Alderaan, according to a book I have.

Jessa wastes no time in getting to a turrett and gets ready for wahtever they might run into. She also can't help but wonder how they got there so quickly. 'Isn't the trip usually longer than this?' Jessa wonders to herself.

Vex had jumped into the other gunnery seat and brought the systems on line. "Captain, you taking us on a scenic route?"

Alio looked on as Jessa started for the turbo-lift for a turret, and Vex was angling Van Demme out of the gunnery chair.
"So, no-one's going to fly the ship?" He asked, whimsically. "And I'm not sure what's going on. We should have a while longer before we left."
As he spoke, the ship shifted out of hyperspace and into a system with a blobbish asteroid belt. They were pretty far from the system, rather than in Alderaan's orbit, as most ships would have conveniently done.
"My heavens," M-3TO said. "You were telling the truth about it."
"Yes," Alio said, darkly.
The ship was approaching the system and the asteroid morass with a rather high speed.

Jessa shakes her head as she replies, "If you wanted someone to do that, you should have said so." Jessa then heads to the pilot's seat and assesses the situation.

"Sorry Cap, thought you might want the helm." Vex said guiltily, then watched Jessa take the controls. ."Let's hope things are quiet."

"Jessa's right," Alio said to Vex. "Communication is important."
He waved Vex to the other pilot seat.
"Speaking of communication, Captain," Ven Demme said. "We're being hailed. It looks like an Imperial signal."
Alio looked as if a chaulkboard was being fingernailed. By a cat. Slowly. In front of a megaphone. "Find the source." Was all he could manage.
"Oh my." M-3TO. Intoned. The droid suddenly moved over to a console, and flipped a switch. "There, that will buy us time."

"What the sith did you do, M3?" Vex asked as he moved as Alio directed. "Buy us time for what?"

"You had indicated the Empire was a sinister force," M-3TO answered. "So, I merely activated the cloaking system to hamper our detection. And we do not use that word lightly on this ship."
Alio blinked. "ooohhhh kay."
"Verify the cloak is working. Vex, set a new course. More round-about. We don't want them finding us by accident. Jessa, check to see if there are any ships nearby. Also, probes."

"Got it Captain." Vex replied, slowly altering course to port. " We may still have a problem if they got a look at us before the cloak engaged. I can duck big ships, but if they send out their fighter screen in a search pattern, I'm not sure I can duck them for long." Once he had a heading to give the Imperials a wide berth, he increased the ship's velocity slowly, though still well below normal cruising speed.

Jessa nods a bit surprised that the ship had a cloaking system and checks to make sure that the cloak is, in fact, working properly. She also does a quick scan to see if there were any ships or probes in the area. As she does so, Jessa says, "Scanning."

"Maybe get lucky and they'll think we jumped back into hyperspace." Vex said, not beleiving it even as the words came out of his mouth.

"Got it," Ven Demme called out. "We are indeed in Alderaan, and there is an imperial outpost in the system. Sorry, Captain."
Alio took a deep breath. It was only a matter of time before something like this would happen.
"Right, anything else?" He asked. He was more looking at M-3TO, though the droid stood silent.
Jessica's scanning did find a small wing of fighters heading to their former position.
Vex's manouvering was, naturally, successful, taking them away from their origin course.
