"Yes, Yes I am. I am holding something back. For reasons - important ones even." The woman tried to smile. "Like all of you have important reasons for not trusting me, or each other. Which is a thing. But if you don't trust me, bad stuff will happen." She looked at Vivian. "that is a very large arrow you have there."

Vivian doesn't look convinced as she replies, "You are right. We have important reasons for not trusting you. We don't know who you are - all we know is we caught you sneaking around and that you're not on the level. Why should we believe anything you say?" When the girl mentions her arrow, Vivian looks down at it and then looks back up at the girl. "Yes, it is." Vivian looks down at the girl's foot and then back at the girl's face. "Who are you and why are you here?"

Rex coughs, hiding a grin catching that look. "Careful, she's good at hobbling dance partners."

Lex smirked at Rex's comment, but it was Vivian's all business attitude that was encouraging to him. It told him she had taken what he had tried to teach her to heart. "I suggest you answer the young lady's questions, since she knows how to use that bow better than anyone here I'm certain. You came looking for at least some, if not all of us, so let's quit the kid games."

'Reece' grimaces for a second. "OK. Uhm...geez...Let me think about this. No. You haven't even heard that word yet....hmmm wow...this is really hard to explain. OK, OK, I got it. A very bad man wants to kill a baby tonight. Is that reason enough to get your interest? I'm thinking that's a reason for you guys to be all spring into action, right?" She looks at Vivian again. "Yeah, I finally get it now."

Vivian looks a bit insulted when the girl says it was hard to explain. 'I'm not an imbecile!' Vivian thinks to herself. "That's a start, but we need more info. Why would anyone want to kill a baby? Who are we talking about? If we know the family, we can warn them." Crossing her arms under her chest, Vivian studies the girl more closely. Her hair and make up were weird - they seemed unnatural to Vivian. A question occurs to Vivian and she asks, "Where are you from? Your clothes are machine made, which is not common and your hair and make up are... " Vivian tries to think of a polite way to put this, "Odd."

"We need more details than that I'm afraid. There are a lot of bad men and even more babies in this city." Lex said, though she had his attention. If there was one thing Lex had a hard time hiding, it was his soft spot when it came to kids, especially when they were in trouble.

"Fine Fine! Screw it, I know I'm going to get it if I ever get home. I'm from the future, ok?" Reece looks about and points at Rex. "I'm betting you've read the Time Machine, so can you explain it to everyone else?" She sighs and shakes her head. "So going to get in trouble over this."

Vivian just looks confused and then a little annoyed. "I'm familiar with the book the Time Machine by H.G. Wells." Vivian neglects to mention that the only way she was able to read it was by sneaking the book out of her father's library as her mother never would have allowed her to read it. "It's fiction. Such a thing is not actually possible."

Reece rolls her eyes. "Great. Fine. Fine. Let's engage in another well-worn convention then where I tell you things I shouldn't know." She points at Vivian. "Vivian Masters. First snuck out of the house when she was 9 because it was more fun than studying for piano lessons again. You still don't understand what the big deal is about Handel's Messiah." She then turns to Rex. "You've never shown what's inside the locket you wear to a single person since you were 16." Then she stares Lex right in the eyes. "...yeah, sorry, don't know much about you." She spun around and looked at Matt. "And you, I know too much about. I'll leave it at this, Mr. Cable - you really need to talk to your brother and soon." She smiled at the old man. "Pleasure to meet you, sir. Just...wow."

[About the HG Welles remark] "Flights of fancy, time travel. I *did* study unusual topics in college, had many a long night of theoretical debate between myself and Lady Maraby, including the possibility of time travel."
Right hand placed on his chest, feeling for something, no doubt said locket, couldn't hide his surprise, nor was aware of the action. "...sixteen...yes...If you really are from the future," steps closer to Reece, speaking low, "Whisper what's in the locket to me. If you're right, my skills are at your disposal."
A portion of Rex's mind amused by Vivian, the hellcat with a bow, knows how to play the piano.

"Guess that makes me the mysterious stranger." Lex mused. He was not impressed with her knowledge of Vivian, but Rex left him curious. "Rex, if you're that certain, I have your back if she's right. Can't let you have all the fun."

Vivian frowns at the woman's statement about her and wonders how she knew that. "I never told anyone about that." she says quietly. Shrugging, she adds, referring to Handel's Messiah "It's boring."

Reece leans into Rex and whispers. "They're the answer to the questions you've had all your life. The one puzzle you can't figure out that you stare into the mirror at."
Matt is rubbing his head. "What's this about my brother?" Caleb smacks him on the back of the head. "Focus, pup. Life in danger first, then family issues."
All eyes turn to Rex, save for Reece. The mysterious woman looks to Vivian, carefully examining her.
