Long thinks it is time for the good cop to step in. "I have an idea. I am going in there." Long steps out of the observation room and goes into the interview room. "Hello again, Rusty. I understand why you are putting up a front. When you go to prison you will be neighbors with Deth. I know you are afraid of him. Even if you say you did not tell us anything will he believe you? He is going have you for lunch whether you tell us anything or not. But if you do tell us everything we want I will make sure you go to another facility, like maybe (insert name of another super-powered prison here). And just to make it safer for you I will also make sure you are segregated from the general prison population. Like when a cop gets sent to prison they cannot be with the general population with everybody they have already sent to prison."

As Alice started to put things together, the intercom came to life, "Alice? you might want to come upstairs, we have company. MacColter just showed up with three people I've never seen before, but he looks like he might be showing them around. Were we expecting reinforcements?"
As Long stepped into the holding area ( note: Rusty is in a holding cell, not an interrogation area), she looked away from Sara and focused on him. The Brethren member clapped her hands dramatically to mock Long, "Smarter than I give you credit, but you still don't get it. If Denial wanted to, he could get to me right here and now. Deth is a problem like you figure, but Denial is the one to worry about. He's gotten to people in both Eagle Ridge and Gramercy, and if you think I'm willingly going to go into stasis in the Peak, you're nuts. No way, you want anything out of me, you gotta put me in witness protection." She sat back and folded her arms.
(Alice, up to you whether you go meet the newcomers in chapter 73 or stay with Long and Sara)

Long taps Sara on the shoulder and beckons her out of the room with a tilt of the head. When they are all together back in the observation room, "It is obvious this is getting us nowhere. And witness protection is out of the question. Especially since Trevor would lose his shit if he found out that she is walking free and Allison is dead. How is your experience with drug interrogation? I think that maybe a mixture of sodium amytal and scopolamine introduced into her drinking water would be very helpful here. What do you think?"

When Alice hears the intercom about new members, Alice sighs and hits the button and replies, "No one told me about new recruits. I'll try to be up in a bit, I'm in the middle of questioning a witness."
Alice looks a bit puzzled as she asks Long, "Why exactly is witness protection out of the question?" When she is asked about drug interrogation, Alice admits "I have no experience with drug interrogation. If we can put her in witness protection, why not do that?"

"Because she is a murderer. And do you not think that Trevor would have a major problem with it? Not to mention she made me unwittingly complicit in the murder."

Alice's frown deepens at the response she gets and Alice points out, keeping her voice calm and polite, "While that it true, there is no rule that states the a person who commits crimes is not allowed to be protected. If she can give us information that can help us take down some of the Brethren and get us closer to capturing Denial, I don't understand why you're so closed minded about the idea." At the mention of Trevor, Alice replies, "I do think he'd be fine with us taking down some of the Brethren since it's not like she did it on her own." Looking puzzed, Alice asks "How did she making you unwittingly complicit?"

"I was undercover at the time. We were going to have our initiation trial. Raig, Panek, and I were supposed to help Rusty burn down a house. This is the house that Allison was in and that is how she died. I was there and I helped burn down that house. Even if I did not know that Allison was in there and I said to hell with my cover as soon as I saw a dead body and tried to take down everybody on my own, I still feel guilty about being involved with her death. That is also why I feel such an obligation to Trevor and also a very personal stake in bringing Rusty to justice."

"Okay Alice. Sierra and I will handle it." Beth's voice replied.
Sara (npc'ed since Foxx has not been posting) folded her arms, " Look, the piece of crap in the other room is my biggest worry, but keeping these two apart ranks a close second. Alice, it's your desicion."

"I will setup the drugs so that we can start the real interrogation." Long goes to get a bottled water from the kitchen and then goes to medical to see if he can find some sodium amytal and scopolamine. Once found he will find a syringe with the smallest gauge titanium needle available and inject the bottle through the cap. He will then put just a dab of 'Second Skin' clear sealant to make it temporarily leak proof. 1d100 (roll for interrogation to see if I got the dosage and injection right)
Long goes back to the cell block and sets the bottle down next to him waiting for Rusty to ask for it. "Ok Rusty we can talk about witness protection. Got any idea where you would want to be placed?"

"All yours." Sara said, and walked out.
Rusty looked at Long and chuckled," Pig, didn't you get the memo? I activate my armor and you can't touch me with that stuff. Remember?" She let out a sigh. " All right, look, I'll throw you a bone. Your murder rap on me isn't going to stick because Torment isn't dead. I don't know why or how, but it has something to do with that batshit crazy coroner. somehow he can bring people back but he keeps them practically lobotomized so he can control them. denial wanted her punished for turning her back on the family when he found out it was her and not Alice that was inside." She folded her arms. " That enough to talk deal? Just me. He has enough baggage that I'm not going down with him no matter how great the sex is."

"Yes. We will keep you here to make sure your story checks out, and if your tip is good and testify at Denial's trial (if there is one) then we will be able to offer witness protection." Long then leaves the cells to go over to medical and check on Trevor and Homicide.
(Are either one of them awake yet?)

Alice listens to Rusty and frowns a bit when she mentions that Denial had initially wanted Alice dead. She had known this, but what she doesn't know is why Denial wanted her dead. Was it just because she was the leader of the group or was there another reason? Alice leaves the room and follows Long to where he is going.

As Long arrived, followed shortly by Alice, they met Kristian just exiting. "Hey, just heading up to give Si a hand with our new arrivals. I told Trevor to barbeque Homicide if he tries anything, but right now he's still sedated. Trev's been asking if anyone found out anything yet constantly.

"There sure is. If Rusty is to be believed, it turns out that Allison may still be alive. That crazy magical coroner guy can apparently bring people back from the dead. This is just what Trevor needs to bring him back from the edge right now."

Alice nods, but cautions Long in a quiet tone of voice, "Like you said, if Rusty is to be believed. I think we should be careful in getting Trevor's hopes up. If it's true, great, but if it's not, he'll be even more devastated."
