Chapter Three: Sniper and Counter Sniper

Sniper and Counter Sniper

Tiger puts a hand on the Magician's shoulder. "We appreciate your assistance. Someone else needs you more than we do right now. I look forward to working with you in the future." Tiger watches as another Omega Shield agent drives the Magician away.

Standing behind the Cadillac, Tiger pops the trunk. She puts on the shirt of her battle armor fatigues and slips her dress off through the shirt. Then she puts on the rest of her battle armor fatigues, her tactical harness, and three gun belts. Putting the big .454 slung low on her right hip and the other two hostlers – one shoulder style left-handed and one in a right-handed cross draw at her waist. She changes her clothes quickly, and without any self-consciousness.

“We want a sniper.” Tiger begins. She clips five large gernades to her tactical harness. “Alive of course.” She thinks for a brief moment. She looks to Dante for a moment before continuing.

“There could be one, two, maybe as many as four snipers or sniper teams. Since they are operating beyond their sanctuary of the Labyrinth, at least one of them will be formidable.” She adds several quickloaders to her harness while she talks

“Patriot and me will provide the rest of you with a trajectory and a specific sniper to target. The rest of you will need to spread out between the Labyrinth and the station. When me or Patriot signal, you will capture the sniper we indicate.” She empties her purse and puts the few things inside into pockets in her battle fatigues. She puts on an armored black coat and tucks a battle helmet under her arm.

“Shroud, Cerebrum, and Jeckle will work together to capture the sniper. You will all start spread out in different positions, hiding as best you can. All cell phones and other electronic devices will be powered off – complete electrical silence in case they have sensors. When Patriot or I give the signal, all three of you will attack the designated sniper with non-lethal force. Its remotely possible they could be as far away as 1400 meters from the station, but if Shroud and Cerebrum agree, I think we can plan that they will be well within 800 meters in order to have a good angle and to add certainty to their aim. So pick your position at least 900 meters from the station so we don’t accidentally step on any of them.” She focuses her attention on Kris for a moment, her expression insuritable in the semi-darkness, then she turns to Jeckle.

“Jeckle, do you have any tracer rounds in 7.62mm – short, not the NATO - .45 ACP, .45 Colt, or 4.6 x 30?”

“Any questions?” Tiger looks around to everyone. She didn't give any instructions to Miranda, yet she makes eye contact with her throughout the short briefing. She hands Miranda a cell phone.

*Jeckle's face is utterly expressionless as her 'toys' get overlooked .. not that they were completed, but just the fact she isn't living up to her end of the commitment just now.

'it really is easier if i get a clip before hand and then alternate them as needed. but i do have some. these are armour piercing .. was working on them earlier. hope they help .. ' *hands over 2 full clips of .45's. and then opens the coat and reveals a few other clips that are color coded and goes thru them. she pauses and examines something again in the right flap*

'sorry boss, wrong ones .. same caliber wrong slot in the coat. my bad, here you go' *she hands over the correct type and slides the prior pair away* 'they wont give your spot away .. the 'dim' kind. if you want the other, maybe a flash grenade? .. that will disrupt bigtime .. sorry'

'got a few of the weapons that i got from the guys in the van. i'm not a fighter, i just make the toys. was planning on doing a retro disection to see how they worked. got a tranq pistol with a few of the hypo's those *nasty word inserted* were planning on using on that girl. could find out what the fluid does .... just wish i had my chem set, will have to pick up a kid's version and hope its got all the things i'll need'

*she closes the coat so the arsenal she carries is hidden from view once again. a smile touches the lips briefly, but never reaches the eyes. a sure sign that she knows this is a dangerous thing to do and really wishes she could have stayed behind in the hotel instead building stuff*

Miranda takes the cell phone from Tiger and nods in greeting to the rest of the team after she's listened to Tiger lays out the plan.

Khris glanced at Miranda and rolled his eyes, " Great, more fresh meat for us to... hey wait a minute." He turned his attention to Tiger. " Tigger, you know I don't do non-lethal very well. I put holes in people, and donna like wastin' ammo doing it."

He reached into the Cadillac's trunk and pulled out his own gear and began suiting up. Once he had his charcoal armored fatigues on, he holstered his Colt Pythons and tucked his rifle case under his arm. " Keep that tranquilizer handy, it might be our ticket to pull this off, provided me and Brains can get you close enough to use it." He made no effort to hide his uncomfortableness with the whole situation.

"Shroud, I have a thought that may help us out. I watched a movie once where there was a sniper, and the best way they had of finding his position was to make him shoot. Once he shot, they pinpointed him, and eliminated him. Well why don't we do the same thing? I can control a vehicle, and send it driving down the road towards the old entrance, the snipers take a shot, you mark their position. What do you think?"

" I wouldn't fall for it," Khris replied with a shrug and a smirk. " but it's worth a shot. We need to get Jeckle and her toybox in position first. The hard part is any good sniper picks his position so he can defend himself if necessary. and thats not counting on backup." He smiled, digging in his pockets. " If I had some ... Jeckle, can you doctor up some rubber bullets for me? Tigger, I need some of that stuff the feds use that incapacitates on skin contact. If Brains can lure out our sniper, I'll tag him with a doctored round that should incapacitate him long enough to grab him." He smirked and looked at the others. " It should work."

Miranda smirks at Khris, but remains silent as she watches the others prepare for the mission.

' ... you want tainted dummies? ... oh right i remember .. '

*she opens the coat once again and rummages briefly and then pulls out a clip of rubber bullets. then smiles as she uses a syringe and a bottle to get some liquid and then carefully does something with a lit candle before handing it back.

'tiny needle tip .. curari .. sealed with a bit of wax .. presto .. one numb and incapacitated snoop for the others to pick up. that work for you big guy? .. ' *then offers the clip to Shroud with a slight grin and then starts to put the things away .. 'oh right .. anyone else? .. while the store's open? .. no? .. cool .. ahh there's my lucky charm bag ... '

*she closes the coat and starts to eat some of that cereal dry from a small bag .. a content grin on the face as her eyes flick back and forth, a sign she's thinking something out in her mind without bugging the others.

[ ooc - apologies, can't think of how to spell it. the muscle freezer, too big a dose and the person might die from it. its a part of general anethetic ... ]

"Ok, Then do you want me to drive the car," Dante asks with a smirk. "You tell me what you want me to do."

"I think Wind Chill can handle driving for now, " Tiger looks to Miranda for confirmation. "She can pick up any wounded and stand by to retrieve the target once the capture is complete."

"Cerebrum is right, we are going to get them to shoot. But we won't use any tricks. Patriot has been on the news, they won't want him or anyone with him getting close to that building. When Patriot and I get close to the station, they'll shoot us, and you'll have a trajectory. I will use tracer rounds to single out the target." Tiger nods to Patriot and looks around at the rest of the team steadily.

*Jeckle looks at Tiger as she speaks and then seems to look very relieved about something. the fact SHE's not the bait is the reason for the look.

*she fives a curious look at Miranda and then nods once before looking back at the others before pulling out a few wires and starts to twist them about and then seems intent on building something as she stands there, a portion of the mind still tracks the conversation, but the majority is now focused on the guts of a remote built on the fly from the ground up.

*stooping to pick up an article from the street, that too is shortly incorporated into the wires and she's moved on from there and into the occasional chip. when the others start to move out or climb into the vehicle, she joins them still entranced in what she's doing and basically closes her ears to most of the conversation about her.

Khris merely scowled at Patriot's mention as his idea was quashed. " Fine, whatever, you're the boss kitty. Give me a general location so I can start scouting my location unless you want to dictate that too."

He took the magazine from Jeckle with a nod and slipped it into a pouch on his utility belt. " This is so much easier than trying to requisition unusual request back at the base." He forced himself not to smile as he realized he was starting to get accustomed to Jeckle and Cerebrum, and tried to push it out of his mind as he remembered what had happened to the last new person he'd gotten used to. Turning to walk towards his bike, he adjusted the rifle case under his arm. " Let me know when we're ready to go."

*Jeckle pauses in her twisting and snipping and adding another part to comment directly to Khris 'you're request there was easy compared to some things Heckle would ask for .. even made him a suit made that blocked out his heat signature. then got it so it was a skin tight number with a 9 volt battery as the power pack. lasted about 2 to 3 hours, depending on body weight

'so doctored bullets are nothing .. now if you asked for .. say .. plutonium bullets .. or weapons grade something else .. THAT would be harder to get and take a bit of time .. but not really impossible .. you'll just have to fork over the bucks to pay for what i don't carry'

*she gives a brief smile .. and then shifts through a pocket and comes up with a little black square and looks at the assortment or jumble of wires she has now .. and nods and goes back to work building something. she has no qualms about stating how she works .. better to have some ammo in exchange for what is handed out. her mind recording the various clips handed out and to whom .. for reimbursement [yeah right .. as if. she don't know that yet ... =p ] from the company.

"Each of you," she looks to Shroud, Jeckle and Dante, "will pick your own spot. I'm sure Shroud can figure out where he needs to be." She smiles with confindence. "Jeckle and Cerebrum, just hide between the station and the labyrinth and make sure you are at least 800 meters from the station."

Seeing Shroud get on his bike, Tiger nods. "Ready? Ok, lets go."

She gets into the Cadillac and asks Dante to tell Miranda to stop when they are about half-a-mile from the old trolley station. There she and Patriot get out and she says, "You have fifteen minutes to get into position and then me and Patriot are going to move."

She looks to Miranda, "You can stay here in the car until the shooting starts. Pick up anyone who needs a ride and stand by to pick up when a target is captured."

She looks around at everyone. "Remember that all electrical devices will be off, so you won't be able to contact me or Patriot via cell phone until the shooting starts. We will be 800 meters from your position at a minimum, so you will need to operate independently until a target is acquired. Once I indicate a target, you are free to use any devices you think will aid you in the capture. "

She stands next to Patriot, waiting for everyone to move out to get to their positions before she approaches the station. She and Patriot switch off their phones, powering them off completely.

*Jeckle nods and then slips the wire thing into a pocket and then proceeds to shut off the electronic communications. she then moves off on a tangent to the station to the left and moves to a back alley and activates the leg unit to boost the jump to the roof top ladder about 4 feet from the top and grabs a hold and waits till the count of 20 to ensure that she can hear any movement before going up and over.

*she rolls from the edge and sticks to the shadows until she gets a good spot and is protected from immediate discovery by the rooftop access behind her. she starts to assemble something from the various slots in her coat, and soon she has a rifle assembled and balances it nearby and removes the binoculars she brought to get a good layout of the area before slipping to a thermal vision lens to pick up on body signatures.
