"I think see why it didn't work. The pistol wasn't meant to be an artillery piece, but you are on to something. If we make a super-sized pistol with stronger materials it should work. and maybe double the battery output for that extra kick." he offered as he looked at the weapon.

"On it Captain," Flip says over the comms.
He toggles the sensors to try and see what they just blew up. As he does, he shook his head. He thinks, 'that's all we need, shoot stuff flying through space without even knowing what it is.'
Sensory Equipment 45% = (20:13:46) ChatBot: Dome rolls 1d100 and gets (15)=15.

Jessica simply nods at Mensk and waits to hear what it was that she hit as she examines the gun.

Outside "Alright, let's take a break for now," Tawfeek said over the comms. "Probably shouldn't push our luck."
And he started packing up.
In the hold McKenna's probably board, and could go.
On the bridge Foreman's sensors detected a satellite-sized mass dissipatting rapidly. What was odd was that the core of the mass seemed to have been following the Galaxy (at at least, its most recent trajectory), and that there were no signs of the mass until Jessica's shot hit it. There was no fuel trace, or radio signal.
It looked like Jessica hit fuel with her shot, and that's what caused the explosion.
On a side note, the energy she managed to squeeze out of the gun was significantly higher than anticipated. Like orders of magnitude higher. It would be hard to tell if it would have been so completely destroyed if the shot had hit a non-fuel area.

"Ya we might kill some space dolphins and get the animal rights people angry with us too..." Mengsk joked as he helped Jessica with the weapon dis-assembly.

McKenna listened uninterested to the comm conversation of the others, then laid back on the stretcher with a sigh of boredom , letting her legs dangle on either sideof the end and took out a well abused book she had tucked in her medical bag, then held it overhead and started to read from the page she had folded over

Flip reports, "it was some kind of satellite. I think. It was obviously following us, but left no trail or seemed to burn no fuel. But I think Jess' gun shot the fuel source that it wasn't burning. I think I want to turn around and see if there was anything left that we can salvage and maybe try and get more information about."

Jessica looks satisfied with be initial test of the new weapon she had worked on and intends on going to her workshop to work on it more. "Thanks." She says to Mensk politely, "I've got this." Jessica packs up her stuff and tells the captain, "I'll be in my workshop if anyone needs me."
