Her drive helps her be the best doctor she can be. As a zeltron, her devil-may-care nature helps her cope when she loses patients. She takes the up and downs of her profession as outlaw doctor with a grin and a cute quip. She has no love for the Empire and will work to support its enemies, but does not feel she has a place in the up tight Rebel Alliance.

Lilith Moonraker choose to express her love for others by becoming a sentient who would help others. In this case, she went into the medical profession. It also seem to be a good way to make a descent living in the galaxy that did not get involve with a lot of the politics of the Empire. She was naive to think that she was immune to the turmoil of the galaxy and it would not directly effect her. Along with looks and personality, Lilith possess a intelligent mind and breeze through school and into medical school. Naturally she was popular with her class peers but moderated herself to only a few select relationships that would not complicate her studies. Some of her associates would speak quietly about joining the Rebellion against the Empire but Lilith had no interest in putting her life in danger for what she thought was a lost cause. As a zeltron she believe change could be made on the inside of the political machine instead of through force.
Lilith graduated with high honors from the university and she went out into the wide galaxy to set up her practice. Alas the first world she would set up shop would come under Imperial jurisdiction as they crack down on separatists bound and determine to throw off the Imperial yoke. Almost a year later she was practically living in a war torn world, using her considerable medical skills to keep the civilian population alive. It was hard, she had to develop her inherit Zeltron abilities to lie, cheat, and steal necessary medical supplies for her patients. This was the first time she seen Imperial aggression up close and Lilith learn to hate it with all her incredible Zeltron passion. She did not much care for the Separatists either as they turn into rabid dogs stealing whatever they could in order to survive the mess they made. Eventually Lilith was press by the Empire officials to work in the military hospitals to take care of their wounded. This did put her in a position where she could 'influence' the officers to allow her a little leeway to help the civilians still; as long as she continue to do a good job keeping the Stormtroopers fighting.
That put a death mark on Lilith head by the fanatical anti-Empire elements. They burn down her make shift hospital in the city as a warning to stay away. Instead, she open a clinic in underground tunnels and used off duty Imperial soldiers, the rare, sympathetic humans, as muscle as protection. After a few more months the Separatists were finally smashed and Lilith was more wise now about the Empire than ever before. She felt it was time to use her skills to continue to help the afflicted and what better way to do so was by joining the Rebel Alliance.
That turn out to be a mistake, as a series of circumstances would show. She did not adapt well to a regimented military life. Yet Lilith skills were in high demand as the conflict continues so she stayed. The choice in commanders she had to work for could have been better. As she would set up shop in a locale to her specification the commander would move her out and put a series of medical droids in place instead. After the third time this happen she found out the reason he felt she spent too much time helping the people in the area and less time on Alliance duties; if she could spend time putting stormtroopers back into service, she could and would devote herself to doing the same for the Alliance as a form of penance. Plus he like having her around his headquarters as a personal morale booster. The commander may have under estimated this woman passionate anger as their next 'morale boosting session' became an instant hit on the Alliance communication network.
With all due haste, Lilith found herself a transport off world before the stun and demoted commander decided to come looking for her. While she still thinks the Alliance can be a force of good in the galaxy, Lilith destiny was not to be with them. She went into the shadows working as an outlaw doctor helping those who fought against the Empire. As a means to make money she would take on jobs helping the more nefarious elements of the underworld: bounty hunters, smugglers, mercenaries who would get hurt for some reason or another. They paid well for her medical services and soon she had enough money saved up to invest in a Corrillian Corvette outfitted as a hospital, with significant fire power and blockade running features. Lilith was ready to take her services onto the galactic highway. It did not take long for her reputation to precede her and her ship was a welcome sight on worlds who had a strong need for her services. It also did not take long before the Empire took notice and agents began working to stop her. After all, Lilith was in the business of helping people whom the Empire declared dissidents and clearly did not like it when she help the odd Rebel agent in trouble.
It took them a year, but Imperial agents assign to stop Lilith eventually track her to a planet suffering from the effects of a plague. They also accidentally caught her with a Rebel agent in one of her bacta tanks recuperating from a serious injury that needed prolong care. Also they found her in possession of medical supplies that once belong to the Empire, that happen to fallen off the back of a ship and into hers. The Imperial agents could not decide rather to vape her now or take her in for trial. They choose a middle of the road option and exploded her ship with all patients on board, including the crew; after promising they would leave them alone if Lilith would give herself up quietly.
That alone seal the deal about the Empire with Lilith. They could no longer be left alone without doing something to stop them. First, she had to get herself out of the current trouble she was in; which she did six months later. She broke out thanks to the Rebels springing an important officer from confinement. Once again Lilith was offered a chance to work with the Alliance and she accepted provided that their officers mind their damn manners this time and sent her to places where her skills were needed the most. She was stationed with the fleet for the longest while, helping injured troops get better.
Later she was reassigned to work with command and sent to Hoth to help with dealing with extreme cold related injuries. She was one of the few doctors there to help get Skywalker back into fighting shape before the Empire discovered their location. She thought he was really cute too...
