So, I was thinking of an old Star Wars game idea...
=====
Jin Tian, a now-ancient Miraluka Jedi, stood on the darkened bridge. The only sound was the warning signal from the Jedi temple. He sensed so many friends and allies had died. Generations in his role, this came as little surprise, sad as it was. It was the children, whose slaughter he sensed, that plumbed the depth of every emotion.
Now it was over, and only the alarm sounded across his bridge.
He had already sent his crew back to Correlia, hoping they would settle safely. He was an able enough pilot to scuttle the ship on his own and he sensed that his own death was imminent. He knew his disappearance would go unnoticed, much like the Whisper's.
He turned his head to the protocol droid waiting on the bridge, to ensure it knew it was being addressed.
"Ensure the other droids maintain the ship as best they can," he instructed. He expected it to be among his last orders. "Wait safely in the Hoth system, and our new allies will find us. I have foreseen it."
"When, Master?" The droid chimed.
"Time will tell," the Jedi answered. "Explain to the other droids that the ship must remain ready for its crew."
"Of course, Master," the droid answered. "I expect they will understand."
"Await the new crew in the starboard airlock area," Jin Tian said."I shall retire to the ship's training temple. When they arrive, tell them nothing of the ship's purpose, or of me. They will learn of it soon enough."
"Have you foreseen that, as well, Master?" The droid asked, sounding concerned.
"No," the old man answered. "But I have seen how people are more adaptive when forced to have an open mind."
The Whisper floated into the position Jin Tian had set for it.
"Good luck," he said, as he left the bridge for the ship's training temple. "May the Force be with you."
"Thank-you, Master," the droid answered. After a moment, it too left the bridge to carry out its orders.
=====
Captain Torrence Alio leaned on the landing gear the Two Left Feet as the medical team brought the young Skywalker and Solo from his ship. He was lucky to be the only light freighter able to fly on time, and follow the speeders out for the pick-up.
The Aldeeraanian just waited for things to calm down before going back to his own maintenance on his ship.
=====
"Imperial troops have entered the base! Imperial troops have entered the - kkkrt"
=====
"General evacuation. All personnel to your ships. General evacuation. All personnel to your ships..."
=====
"Transport, this is Solo, better take off. We'll get the Princess out on the Falcon."
Captain Alio looked at the comm, then at the empty bay. Two Left Feet had room without the Princess, so he flew to a staging area for stragglers...
PREMISE
A no-dice game set as a side-adventure to the OT period. Pilots, soldiers, rebel supporters of all stripes preferred, though no Jedi, Force users, Force witches, Sith converts etc. players can be sensitive (and unaware of this fact) and the door would be open to a change in career, but not at the outset.
