Chapter One: The Hunt Begins...

While I won't attempt to write a newspaper article (just don't have the time right now). I will post a summary.

The article states that the Centurions (the main, sanctioned super hero team in the city) has confirmed that the alien called Alpha Prime went missing about one week ago. A few days after her disappearance rumors starting spreading when no one had spotted the Bhlaze alien. A spokesman for the Centurions stated that before her disappearance Alpha Prime had been acting odd, even possibly scared. She never indicated what was bothering her though she was asked many times.

The team has been searching for clues since she vanished but so far have come up empty, though they are following leads. The city has had a mixed reaction since Alpha Prime has the blamed placed on her for the fall of the city since she was the one who arrested the fake Dr. Sarnhoff and confiscated all alien-related technology from Project Daedalus.

One of the rumors is that Alpha Prime was seen leaving the Earth by astronauts on the International Space Station, but those have not been confirmed. That one rumor has spurred thousands more including that Alpha Prime was fleeing the Earth before it was destroyed, some go so far to think she set in motion the destruction of the Earth! The spokesman re-emphasizes that these are just rumors and more information will be provided when it is discovered. There is no evidence that the world is about to end.

*Jeckle is spending time to make sure that the facial latex foam mask issettled into the right spot and then finally smiles once its finished and set.

...o0( hope Shroud's okay. really wonder what set him off, and why no one's come to rip a stirp or 14 offa me. ) *then shrugs and makes sure that the 'neck' section is in place and that the actual neck guard to protect the real arteries is secure and allows for hte 'false neck' to be exposed to things like, throat cuttings, if they're needed.

*the final snapping of buckles shutting is heard now as Jeckle moves to the door so that the leg units settle the additional weight and not worry too much, about the others.

She stays silent a moment in response to Patriot's question. "I don't know," she says quietly after Shroud leaves.

Turning her attention back to the matter at hand, "Perhaps we should take his advice and contact him when we have a plan." Tiger's tone is oddly distant, but only for a moment.

"Well, investigating the dissappearance of Alpha Prime would be a fine cover story, and would give Dante enough freedom to ask nearly any question. If we are under survellience, we could talk freely about that subject without giving away anything important and we just might learn something useful. I'm sure the investigation would fall within Patriot's goals, so we wouldn't even really be lying to Roga- though he might feel differently when we accomplish our mission."

"Me and Shroud will go get our vehicles, and when we return we will all go to meet Roga. Shroud, the Magician and Jeckle can use their skills to keep watch on the meeting place, while Dante, Patriot and myself meet Roga."

"We'll be back in ten minutes, so be ready to go. Front entrance."

She gets up and grabs a big duffle bag and leaves the room, activating her cell phone earpiece as she does, calling Shroud, waiting for him to answer his phone...

Patriot

Giving Tiger a nod acknowledging her plan, Patriot turns to the others. "Alright, you heard her. Jeckle, start prepping the surveillance equipment for issue. Work with Magic boy there and see if you two can come up with some way for everybody to see and hear what that little ball of his does. Dante, this is your town. Come here and see if you can draw up a layout of the neighborhood that we're going into. Any possible exits, evac points and observations spots we can give to Shroud."

Spotting the waitress heading his way, Khris waved her off as his phone began to ring. With a brief glance at the coller I.D., he sighed as he answered, " That was slower than I expected. Two years getting clear of me must have softened you up." He couldn't help grin as he said it.

Dante gets up and approached the map and began adding notations to the area within a 10 block radius of the bar. At least to the best of his memory.

*Jeckle gives a faint smile as she moves back among the others, still saying little to patriot or anyone else. its obvious that her needs wont be taken into account and as a result takes off the glasses and shows the others that will be watching where the 'parabolic dish' switch is.

'the hearing is done, the hearing? .. how about a mini cam or four? .. *sets a few of them out and then gets the small laptop up and into record mode* 'mind you .. all this will be rendered useless IF he's got a way to bypass or negate any recordings from taking place. i KNOW there are ways to block outside recordings, but i wouldn't mind getting my hands on one oft hem so i can retro wortk them ... sorry ' *goes quiet again, as the team leaders get closer. not really pleased with the way orders are comingdown, but isn't arguing.

"Speed doesn't win every contest," Tiger intones slyly over the phone. "Can you meet me in the lobby? I need a hand picking up vehicles."

" Sure, I haven't ordered yet." Khris replied, rising from the table. when the waitress looked at him, he waved her off and dropped a ten to pay for his coffee and tip for wasting her time. " I'll meet you there."

When Shroud arrives in the lobby, Tiger says simply, "We'll go on foot." She exits the hotel and starts to walk down the street.

"It was good talking to Patriot last night, and I still missed catching up with you." She says with a smile. "I got a new gun." She is still smiling as she says the last part, yet her tone is flat and controlled.

"How about you?" Her eyes scan further down the street, not making eye contact.

Jeckle watches the marks going onto the map .. ears recording and filing it away in her mind. 'so in case of an emergancy what places and the quickest way there?.. '

*then nothing more as she memorizes the map, then the intense stare and examiniation is over. 'k .. got it in the head ... ' *then moves to the couch and settles down into it, not at all looking like her normal crispy critter burned self ...

" We'll have plenty of time to catch up." Khris replied with a warm smile of his own. " Besides, I got to take you out for supper on our first go round." He shook his head slightly at her mention of a new weapon, but wasn't sure if she was refering to him, or the weapons he carried. After a pause, he replied, " Same old toys, just had to make some repairs and modifications after I melted the barrel out of old faithful." He smirked, casting a sideways glance at Tiger, " But I'm sure you already read that in my files before we left the base."

*looks at Magician .. 'guess i'll have to learn as we go then. will have to make a few readings then and see if i can get the two to work together ... ' *is thinking of HOW to make readings with technology

She looks over at Shroud, "Files don't have everything. And even when they do, reading reports isn't the same as hearing it from a trusted friend. Wouldn't you agree?" She turns her attention back to their surroundings, habitually checking above them and all around even though she knows Shroud would likely sense a threat long before she did. "Should be only another to blocks or so," she says.

Khris nodded, his curiousity getting to him. " Are you implying I left something out, Tigger? Everything was in there in black and white, just like it happened."
