Chapter One: The Hunt Begins...

"There is almost certainly surveillance on us already. If two or three of us go see Roga, we would still attract attention. And we need information." She pauses, thinking over the situation.

"An ambush, or survellience on Roga compromising us could happen whether we send one person or if we all go. I think we all should go, and I think its time we start to ditract our opponents."

"Whether Roga is under survellience or not, whatever we say to him is likely to travel in the right circles. What would everyone think if we feed false information to Roga that we accepted a mission from the mayor as cover, and that our real goal is to get close and assassinate the mayor. The mayor's office will easily be able to recognize the misinformation, and probably doesn't have sufficient intel to pick up the rumor anyways. The misinformation might be plausible to our enemies, because they know the powers that be aren't happy with the mayor and any of them might want to make a change early. Any thoughts? Other misinformation ideas?"

"We may have to have a cover story for Roga because he may have some real information on why we are here that he could confirm if he talks to us today. It would be a good idea to have false reason ready."

"Shroud, would that be a reasonable story, are there contract out on the mayor?"

"You would be wasting your time. Roga won't tell anyone I am here, let alone anything we have to say. Its bad for business, and he's like my brother. When we meet, what we say will stay between us. If you don't want us to tell him the whole story, thats fin, but there will be no reason to lie to him."

*glances up andthen comments 'might be easier to slip one person in IF they don't show up scopes or eyes. if ... i don't know .. goes in .. unseen .. like invisible. that would be interesting huh? ... at the tail end of a group of people? ... and then they leave and go elsewhere. i can rig something to block body heat for about maybe 5 minutes? at least to get inside. but what do i know of sneaking about? ... i just build the stuff .. to trick machines. sorry .. i blurt at times .. shutting up now ... '

*settles back in the chair and raises one knee to use as a writing surface and then finally nods with her actual choice for supplies. andt hen looks up briefly andt hen slides the glasses up and over the eyes, blocking the faces from view for a while. knowing that she's NOT being much of a help just now

She smiles at Dante, "If we or Roga are under survellience, which is likely, our lies will be carried back to our enemies. Of course, it may be best to spread no information at all. In fact, if your friend trusts you so well, he might react poorly to a lie a spoil it."

"What Jeckle says brings up an interesting point. If Roga was going to meet with only one of us, would it be hard for him if you weren't there. Would he consent to a meeting with the Magician's energy ball or Patriot in a back alley? I am still inclined for all of us to go along, because I suspect he will want to see you and I'm concerned about anyone going alone."

"We could do this another way, One of my abilities is disguise. I can go in disguise, one Roga will recognize, I can ask him for a surveillance free place, and then I can call you all in. You guys can stay relatively close. Trust me, if Roga is under surveillance, he already knows about it, and whom it is. Hec, in this town, he probably sold them the equipment to do i," finishes Dante with a smirk.

Hearing his name mentioned, Magician turns his attention to Tiger.

"Well, the sensory orb can be placed inside a bag or similar object to keep it out of sight. Just a thought to help in planning. I don't think I mentioned that before," he chimes in when he gets a chance.

Looking for something to occupy his time, Magician grabs a copy of the complimentary local newspaper. Scanning the headline, he is somewhat shocked at what he sees.

"Isn't Alpha Prime the alien that arrested the fake Dr. Sarnoff? She's missing," he says questioningly to whoever happens to be close enough to hear him. "That's interesting."

As he speaks, he turns the paper for everyone to see the headline, at least those listening to him.

The headline, in big bold letters, says, 'CENTURIONS CONFIRM ALPHA PRIME MISSING FOR TWO WEEKS'.

Turning the paper back, he sits down to read the article.

*the head barely moves to look at Magician, until at least the paper is turned to face her and then it moves even more to scan the page 'cool .. intel to go thru' *then leans back, to contemplate a few things before commenting about the 'ball in the bag' trick that was mentioned.

'kinda strange that the alien is missing with the deadline coming up. anyways .. i can rig a backpack for the orb no prob .. just need the batteries from a couple of fire alarms ... i'm sure that can be attanged by somebody. i'll get on it then .. need to get some cleaning supplies anyways. left the 'do not disturb' on the door'

*stands up and then moves towards the door of the suite, pauses by Shroud, leans over and whispers something in his ear, then continues to the door. 'with these burns i gotta have the cleaning stuff at a stronger dose, for better sterilization .. easier for me to clean the room while i'm here myself' .. *spoken as her hand is on the knob of the foor, a grin on the face while waiting for a reaction from the various people involved. 'anyone got baking soda? no? another thing to contact housekeeping about then'

Patriot

He chuckles slightly. "Tiger, if we're being watched already then misinformation will have to be a little more believable than we are here to kill the mayor. People won't expect that of me what with the 'national symbol' rep I have." He listens to the other ideas. "I'd be willing to meet with him, but judging from what Cerebrum has said about him I doubt that he'd be very open with me. Especially if his business tends toward the illegal kind." He glances toward Shroud and grins. "Why not send the Irish with him with the rest of us in hidden locations? That could lead any who are watching to think that the business they're discussing is less than moral. Jeckle can come up with, if she doesn't already have them, some listening devices so we can keep tabs on their conversation while we keep an eye on them and another out for anybody watching." Hearing Magician's comment about Alpha Prime, Patriot moves over to study the article himself.

*glances at Patriot and then lowers her glasses briefly taps one of hte silver ornements and a tiny parabolid mike pops up and forms .. 'yeah i got a range of about ... 50 feet good hearing. thanks for asking. anything else before i get ready? oh right the backpack .... ' *turns to the door once again and stops to collapse the parabollic mike before exiting.

*once in the hallway, shakes hte head and then with a deep sigh of relief, heads to chat with the chambermaid down the hall. to the lady with the cart 'hey .. pardon me .. but i got a favor to ask you. i need the cleaning supplies, well some for myself. but astronger dosage, because of the skin condition .. i find it easier to do the cleaming myself. i'll let you in day after tomorrow to vacumm. tht work for you? .. works for me. just some concentrate for the various cleaners would be great. and maybe a mat to set the bottles on and not ruin the carpet of the bathroom floor ... ' *smiles in a pleasant manner nad then worries that maybe the lady can't speak english.

" I could check" Khris replied to Tiger," I donna check for open contracts too much anymore. Alexander tends to frown on freelancing." He smirked with a slight nod to Jeckle when she whispered to him but it quickly slipped to a scowl when Patriot suggested he go with Cerebrum. " I donna think so, lap dog. You're the one who the bossman sent to help Tigger out, you bloody well can take the freshmeat into another setup like thaht." He stood up from the table, trying to harness his temper. " Tigger, when you figure out what your plan is, let me know what you need me to do. " He didn't wait for a reply and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.

He was about to stop to compose himself until he noticed Jeckle still in the hallway. He stomped past, muttering as he dropped her pad and pen in her hand," If anyone asks, I'm gone for brunch. hopefully the bloody bar is open. " He continued on to the elevator, taking it up to the restuarant, where he took a table away from any other patrons, and took a long time studying the menu as he tried to calm down.

'got'cher back den ... ' *said quietlly as Shroud seems to storm by like an angry storm cloud.

*then smiles and waits for the chambermaid to fill up the small plastic bottles she's brought for these cleaners. all unused, but a black marker is in hand to mark down WHAT each really is ... and a patient smile to the face.

'thanks a lot, really appreciate what your doing. here, take this and we wont discuss it again .. k? ' *holds out a 10, and then turns to re-enter her room with the various bottles. at least secure that HER room wont be infiltrated by snoops. and while she isn't expecting the others to ask, she will respond with some answer aobut where Shroud may have gone.

Patriot

Raising an eyebrow, Patriot is a little taken off guard by Shroud's outburst. Turning to look at Tiger, he shrugs. "What the hell was that all about?"

*putting the cleaning supplies into thebathroom where she'll most likely do some of her work, returns to the door and exits to go gather the last of her things from the 'group room'. opens the door, enters and then shutsit tightly behind her .. moves to pick up the cereal box and juice bottle. slipping the bottle away in the pocket, glances at the others and shakes the head before grabbing the discarded water bottle.

'real smooth, and they say i'm like sand paper' *then turns to the door once again and pauses to slide that water bottle away before turning to look at the others

'dont know what it was about, but whoever ticked HIM off better do some soul searching .. he don't need it and i don't need the stress, IF i'm to be building stuff ... later .. i'll be ready in 45 now. got other stuff to do first. god ... the tension in here? .. could explode in a fireball .. relax already'

Khris drummed his fingers on the edge of the table, the energy of the outburst fading quickly. He dropped the menu in his other hand and let his head fall to his hands before looking up to rest his chin on his thumbs with a deep sigh. " I told Alexander it was too bloody soon to stick me in with a bunch of rookies." He grumbled to himself with his eyes closed. " and why does Jeckle have to remind me so much of .... " He cursed himself for getting attached and sat up, well aware other patrons were starting to glance his way, and started looking at the menu again. Finally deciding what to order, he sputtered to himself as he waited for the waitress, " The others are probably on the phone home right now, ordering me up a straight jacket and nice room with soft walls."

*exits the main room and heads back to her room. taking the time to get herself mentally aware of things to come. and it wont be until about 10 minutes have passed that she will start to don the armour and finishes off with the 'false' face mask.

a slightly different look that shows what she would have looked like without the blemishes of scar tissue. a shade or two darker than normal, also helps to hide the fact her complexion is a bit off, and then finally is ready and sits on a chair listening to tunes on the TV.
