It was a brisk late-summer morning in Thundering Bay. The summer was rising later every day, and cool air was both refreshing, and a harbinger of cold feet as the crew got up from their beds.
At breakfast, Sheila laid out the latest flight.
It was more likely a major one, since she had kept the Lanky Arrow grounded for the last two weeks getting it looked at and shored up. The supply runs into town and to the Bridges before that, also pointed to something interesting.
Grady, Jessica and Silkes were all finishing off their eggs, coffees, etc.
"Briefly," Sheila began, sipping her coffee. "You will be taking a spotter with you. A Scottish Terrier by the name of Gimly. He can explain everything, but, basically, we're looking for the airbase of the Dragonwing Pirates. The money bags at The Bridges seem convinced they have some kind of hidden airport hidden in the Copper Belt area. Otherwise they should be using seaplanes, like most pirates, and not land-landers. So, you're in the air for the next week, between here and Otter-Water, looking for that airport. Professor Gimly will have all the maps you need."
She sipped her last sip, and got up, taking it to the sink.
"Professor will be here in an hour,so get what you need packed." She said. Looking around the kitchen, she gave an after thought. "And you may want to wash the dishes. I'll be at the bank reviewing the mortgage on this place."
And she was gone.

"Well no task big or small for us." Jessica said as she gets up to clean her plate. "Looks like we going to need to pack some extra ammo for this trip."
Geez, actually hired to go out and look for pirates. Not something Jessica had in mind when signing on with this outfit. Still it was a paying job and the money would not hurt business, provided they did not get shot down looking for fricking pirates.

Grady moves to the sink and starts doing the dishes, while thinking, Pirates, nice. Hope this doesn't get us all killed. I should make sure to pack extra ammo.
Grady looks over to Jessica, "Standard gear?" He asks, then continues, "Though I'm bringing extra ammo, just in case."

Pouring himself another cup of coffee,Rives slowly shaking his head returns to the breakfast table."Oui ,more ammo and perhaps some red paint so we can put bullseyes on the plane".A slight chuckle escapes him "Or perhaps money signs would attract these pirates quicker." Pleased with his humor he smiles as he leaves the kitchen to go pack.

"They'll probably just be happy to shoot us down just for being in their territory." Jessica comments, as she gathers up things around the area, mostly her personal things. "No use in playing safe, and bring what we can. I'm sure we want to make a good impression on the client by preparing for the worse."
She nods to the others and walks out of the room to go pack her things. She makes sure if they have enough parts to take along for the radio; their only source of communication when in the air and out in the great wilds. Next was to check their food stocks as they will need to be out for a week or so. So best to pack for two weeks, Jessica thought to herself.

(Jessica)
As she enters the garage - more like a hanger-sized boathouse - Jessica sees Milton already doing finishing touches on the plane.
"Got a long trip, right?" He asked. "Checkt the oil, gas, indicators, flaps, hull, other indicators, transmission... uh..." He paused, having counted his fingers, one waanted to flip up. "There was one other thing... Oh, ammo. That's it. Ammo-ed it up, plus a name for a guy Otter-Water where you can get resupplied. It's Jake."
"Oh, and don't overload the plane. You got lots of long-haul flyin' to do, so don't make it heavier than you neeed to."
(Grady)
Grady got the dishes done in short order. A feat, given he was the last one left (though Jessica did help).
(Rives) Rives was packing.
(Grady and Rives) Both hear the door bell ring.

Jessica smiles to Milton, patting the plane, "Thanks. I don't think we're going to be carrying a lot of cargo, just passengers. We'll try not to get our baby shot up too badly this trip."
She takes out a note bad and writes down the name, keeping the reference near to her heart.

Hearing the doorbell Rives pauses his packing and makes his way toward the door.

Grady stuffs the last few things into his duffel bag and holsters his pistol, making sure his speed loaders are in place as well. He's shrugging on his jacket when he hears the knock at the door.
Turning towards the door, Grady sees Rives heading over to answer it so he clips the duffel bag closed and shoulders it.
Then he turns to see who just showed up.

(Rives/Grady)
At the door is a little (4 feet tall, full biped/hands, animal looks) Scottish Terrier. As the breeze picked up, the tweed petticoat (which reaches to his knees), ruffled, and his whiskers snuffled.
"Good morning!" he yippee, as the door opened.
"Alright," Milton said. "I'll haul her to the warf."
With that, the mechanic got the winch moving that opens the hanger door.

Emily (or Simms as she preferred to be called) was working away at one half a dozen or so watches she had. the pocket watch was an old gold plated number with Victorian markings and on a fine gold chain. The chain also plated as the original chain was sold by the previous owner. a sad thing to note according to Simms, as gold chains of Victorian design were not easy to find.

"Oh sorry about that..I do tend to get absorbed in my work," Emily smiled. her brownish fur and 'hair' or rather spines re-adjusting as she looked up to the new comers. She was a Biped but had an array of spines down her back and on her head. the attire she wore was modified to allow her full movement and not tear the clothing. With a set blue eyes she observed the Professor. the clothes looked out the olden days with a gold and blue patternened vest and white bandit collar shirt under it. Over that she wore a black waist coat with a pair white 2 inch wide bands at the mid-point of the forearms with gold buttons.
"You look like you need a good tailor and are you interested in a Gold plated Victorian Era watch?" then stopped, "Sorry force of habit..." she grinned
