UN Special Forces Poland Research Base

Dante knew Tiger was coming before she got there. But that was only because he had been bored lately so he was reaching out with his telepathy more. He had also just been making some lewd suggestion to Bel about what they could be doing with their time rather than watching the kids.

He tries to get his mind back to work. "Hey boss, nice to see you out of the office. Anything new going on?"

Bel returns Dante's amourous thoughts, though she tries to defer him until the next scheduled training break....

Tiger thinks about Dante's question a moment. "The enemy is on its way here. Will they be ready?" She pauses, "No, nothing new. The same question, different day. Roan, Marv and White are brillant teachers. Dancer and Peacemaker are gifted and diligent students. But the ETA seems shorter than when I would feel they will be truly ready and unless we want to evacuate the base again, we will need to attack before the first demon arrives."

"I wonder if..." Then she shakes her head. She continues to watch the trainees. And indeed they are doing very well. Even with their powers negated, training with the best martial arts instructors in the world for months has clearly had an impact. Given another month or two, the pilots would be impressive compared to untrained combatabts. But they have less than two weeks, not a month.

Khris had missed the detail of unit soze, and had to keep himself from facepalming in front of the pfficers. He chuckled to himself, " I'm sorry folks, I've made a bit of an error. Can I ask something? Do you normally work independantly, or are you used to joint operations? I'll lay it out for you. The americans were responsible for providing heavy support with the project I'm involved with, and I need a replacememt unit to replace them as they rotated out. because of the security involved, I cant give too manydetails, but I'm thinking Iam going to request all three units since you all seem more than competant. My problem is my superior is only going to want to have one of you answering to her, not three. Drink up, provided i can convince your superiors, we will be shipping out ASAP. I'm sorry if any of you have families to say goodbye to, but the project is that important."

He stood up with a nod, and headed back to the office he had been using and picked up the three files. Looking for his liaison, he said," I'm ready. I need to speak with the base commander if he is available."

The base commander arrives shortly. He brings along an aide. He has a thick accent, and asks Khris how he might be of assistance.

[Dome]

"Are any of us truly ready for combat that first time? Especially when the enemy force is so overwhelming? Ready or not they'll go and fight, because they know they are our only hope. Just like Rock did when he went against them on his own," Dante says.

He then adds, "have any analysts been able to determine which of the 3 is the weakest demon? That's who I would send them after first, not the closest. I bet. If they can hit it, and win, the others will slow down, or think twice. Of course the other option is to hit the strongest, but we would have to be a whole lot more confident in their abilities for that."

As he talks Dante uses his TK to goose Bel. She knows that while he understands that there should be priorities that with the world possibly ending, he has started to believe more in Carpe Diem than he ever had before, and less in putting things off for later. He had recently been blowing off his on base assignments to spend more time with Bel, and spent most of that time trying to convince her to go off with him somewhere, she never did during work, but he never stopped trying.

" Good morning, sir." Khris said respectfully as he offered the commander, and offered him the paperwork Tiger had provided him with," Sir, as you know, my purpose here was to find the best unit to attach to the UN operation in Poland, but I have to apologize because I made an error when I first came to you. I failed to realize that you operated on a squad based level, and the unit they are replacing from the US is platoon sized. I know the documentation only says one squad for reassignment, but I respectfully request you assign the units under these three officers. Preferably available for relocation as soon as possible as this mission has ramifications that put the future of the entire planet on the line."

He stood back, hoping he presented his case well enough the commander was in agreement. If he had to return to Tiger after failing another assignment she had trusted him with, he wasn't sure what would happen.

Tiger tenses at the mention of Rock. The loss of the robot and pilot had been a terrible setback for the program. She knows they can't afford another loss like that.
She thinks about the demons, none really seeming stronger or weaker than the others. Perhaps they could ask the scientists for damage assessments...

Bel giggles under Dante's touch and swings her hip at him to hip check him playfully.

The base commander thinks for a moment and says, "All three can be ready to deploy within the hour. Acceptable?"

[dakota]

Khris was surprised, and nodded, " Exceptional sir. I appreciate your co-operation, and can see you understand the gravity of the mission here? There is a chance that these men will see combat unlike any other and that if whatever those things are they could turn towards Poland before we are ready for them." He wasn't trying to scare the commander off, he just wanted to be clear.

[Dome]

Dante can sense Tiger's tenseness. "I'm sorry for bringing that up, but we all need to face it. Things are coming to a head soon. We all know it. I'm just kinda anxious for it to be over one way or the other."

He pauses and then changes the subject, "any word on anymore artifacts that can help? If there is anything at all, now is the time to get it. Bel and I can take a team, maybe pickup Kris on the way."

Tiger shifts her weight, thinking. "Ah, the other artifact should arrive tonight with the Egyptians, assuming it is the real thing. And Khris should be back tonight as well. But I might have a mission for you all the same."

"Let's all meet in the Command Center tonight when Khris gets back. Just us, none of the kids."

[albatross]

The base commander nods to Khris, "We understand. We'll do our part." Then he leaves to oversee the preparations. The three squads and their support teams are ready to go within an hour. They must have prepped them in advance or they'd never be ready to go on such short notice.

As Khris readies to board the plane, the commander says, "We are counting on you. Godspeed."

The flight back to Poland isn't long. Tiger and a small delegation are there to great the arrival of the power armor squads. She looks them over, nods to Khris and makes sure local Polish troops are assigned to each squad to get them settled and take them on a tour of the base.

It is after 11pm when Khris finally descends the elevator into the underground base with Tiger. "Miss me?" Tiger asks playfully, leaning against Khris now that they are alone.

Alone in the elevator, Khris let his actions speak for him as he picked Tiger up and hooked his arms under her thighs, then leaned her back against the elevator wall and kissed her passionately. Once they broke for air, he smirked, "Maybe a little." and winked before kissing again.

Tiger moans into Khris' kiss and returns hispassion eagerly and the two of them eventually end up outside the command center with Tiger's hair a bit disheveled.

Marv, Roan, White, Bel and Dante are already there. Tiger's decision to meet without Jeckle, Akane, or Kat is perhaps puzzling, but she had her reasons.

Khris couldn't get the smirk off his face as he and Tiger entered. Well he felt eyes upon him, he could help but shrug,"What?"
