When the knife is thrown Takota is quick to draw and aim the pistol at the juicer but then is just as quick to point the business end of the pistol in another direction when he realizes he was not the target. He gives a quick nod then gets back to piling the things he found in a heap.
"Not much here other than their weapons. It is possible they were travelling light not expecting any opposition or they were going to meet up with another team." he announces over the comm.

Sam stays quiet for the moment, looking around to see if it safe for her and Shep to come out of their hiding place.

Shep looked at Sam as he stood up and looked around from their hiding spot, only to jump as Det and Scope slid into the hide. "Maám, Shep, I think we got something." Det brought up a replay on his pocket recorder. "I'm not sure, bbbut I think we just missed our bogey." On the replay there was something very large that had moved through the canopy cover in the distance passed the current merc position.
The mercs were caught off guard, and two went for weapons as tori appeared in their midst, but they stepped aside where another Merc was attending poorly to the woulds of another man on the ground. The juicer nodded.
Over the comms came Shep's voice,"Tak, unless something special, leave it. Kain, Janxi, sitrep. Is Tori in trouble?

Kain responds when Shep asks his question, "Negative, she's providing medical aid to a wounded merc. The others are breaking cover to check and see whats up."
Kain continued his vigil on Tori, ensuring that the mercs don't try to thank her with a knife to the back. They still didn't know who they were or why they were out here. Nice of them to help with the Splorgies, but not enough to induct them into them into their good graces.

"Copy that Six. One grey down. Performing lifsaving, over?!" Tori continued to perform medical skills on the fallen merc, doing her level best to move beyond bandages to paramedic.
Paramedic/treat [dice=100] needs 45
"Patient responding." She looked at the mercs, passing them some wound packing, bandages and drugs. Then she provided instruction.
"SO-3 Tori, mission ready. Orders, Six"
She shot the mercs a hateful look. "Any uv yew wanna back us up?"

While the others watch Tori Takota makes his way to where Det is. "Ok, you got to use my play-toy. Time to give it back."
To Shep and Sam he asks, "You want me to rig those weapons to blow up with a grenade if someone touches them or just leave them?"

Det unslung the heavy rifle and handed it over Takota. "Sights are off a couple klicks right, but it works like a top."
Scope chuckled, "Don't listen Tak, Det can't shoot straight with a potato gun."
Det kicked Scope's foot, and he howled with pain.
Shep looked at Sam, shaking his head, "Go meet the neighbors?"
The juicer squatted down next Tori as she worked, watching silently. One of the other merc spoke up, "We got us a gig."
A second, the one that had been helping before Tori took over added, "But we ain't beyond hearing you out if you got a better offer."
Tori, you manage to stabilize the merc leader's wounds, but you can tell he needs more than you can offer.

"Yer man's cool fer now, but yer gonna hafta evac him an' gettim some hospital care. Look, it ain't fer me to make an offer. That's fer tha boss." Tori looked at the juicer, and wondered how he would handle a provoked Janxi.
"We got are orders, yew got yers. But yer man's still gotta go if he's gonna live. Yew ain't gonna air evac him wif that gun in enemy hands. An' I ain't seen anyone better than doctorin' round here than me. Mebbe, if tha gun is gone, we kin arrange some air evac."

Tori put away her medkit, and opened her faceplate to put in a nip, then headed back towards Six, not sneaking or stalking, just walking along.
She approached Six without salute. "Their man needs evac, an he ain't gittin' it wifout knockin' out tha gun. I implied they might gittim evaced if they helped us schwack tha gun. Mebbe he's their leader, and mebbe he ain't, but I reckon it's a right fair trade, if they help us schwack tha gun to get him fixed up. Frankly, we kinda need tha firepower, cuz I ain't thinkin' we kin do this wif missiles, and on toppa that, we really don't want them sendin' missiles are way."[rand=8784187374897627745477074041437175772711704730089097757014049004]

Sam considers this as she gives Toro an under the chin scratch. "Yeah, I think you're right in that we could use the firepower." Sam falls quiet for a second before deciding, "Let's talk to them."

Kain nods to Tori as she walks back to Six, continuing his vigil on the mercs. He slings his weapon though to give the impression he's just watching and not guarding them. After all, he could afford it with the others still spread out and watching the area inside and out.
"What kind of gig did you guys pick up that brought you out to this rotten swamp?"

Janxi emerged from her hide, walking past a couple of mercs, and back to Six and company. She cradled Samson and shot each merc she passed an unimpressed look. "Six, tell me you was keepin' a bodycount, an' I beat lil Flatchest!"

He keyed his comm as he turned to and started out of the hide,"Everyone form up on Tori. Bosslady wants to meet the neighbors."
A groan that sounded like a child came in response from someone, unclear who it was.
The mercs watched Janxi pass their midst, and two of them muttered back and forth.
"Holy shit, Tigger's a chick?"
"That ain't Tigger."
"How do you know?"
"Because Tigger's got stripes and he's bigger than her."
The juicer merely squatted next to Tori and the fallen leader with a nod and a sympathetic look on his face. At the same time, the one she'd spoken to as the fill in leader looked at Tori as well,"We don't have anyone to evac us, but what gun do you mean?" His question implied he knew more than he was letting on.

"Less stop tha bullshittin' huh? Yew been trackin' that gun cuz someone's done hired yew to steal it. Yew know what the CS is dewin' out here too. So less talk like we're bof pro-fessionals." Her tail gave an irritated swish, and she licked her nose twice, as only a perturbed shagcat could, whiskers twitching.
"That woman walkin' up is Six. She's large and in charge. Now I ain't known for mah bedside manner, so lemmie be blunt. Yer man here? He's gon die unless we get him to a level 1 trauma center, and I mean fast as fuck. I'm ready to tell Six there to get this man evaced via helicopter, just as soon a a helo can land. That gun's between yer man and the sickbay aboard the JP. That's tha least we kin do fer yer ass-isstence.
"Oh, an juss so yew understand. I think yew kin look at us an' know we ain't tha Imperial Yewth Corps. The gratitude of a CSOG Capt'n goes a long way in yer community. It could be uh git out of jail free card, 'er it could be a lot of wetwork in the future, given a good job refir-rence." Tori licked her armored paws. Cats were groomers above all.
"So you got a lotta reasons fer a team change right there. I kin't speak for Six, but I can show her we're bein' reasonable, and yer bein reasonable. We can schwack that gun together, an' yer man will be given tha best care in tha world. Whaddya say, Kimosabe?"

Janxi pulled off her helmet and took a nip. "Tiger mah ass.Ih'm a jaglion. Yew thought Tori's footprint was Tony when ya saw it on tha trail. We'll learn ya about cats. An' he may be bigger, but there's three of us, an' one of him. 'Sides..."
She looked squarely at the juicer as she said all this. "... Mah Maw's tha Demoncat of the Ozarks. That ring a bell? Yew think I'm worried 'bout one tiger? When he shows up, Ih'l be ready. T an' Tak'll be ready. We ain't skeerd. Anyhow, where you run inta ol' Tony?"
