Seeing the ATV empty Takota lets out a disappointed huff. He was kind of looking forward to him and Janxi getting to beat someone up in it. Then comes Det's observation.
"Damn! I gave Det the CI-404. Well hopefully he'll make good use of it against the sploogs." he comments to Janxi.
Looking at the ATV again he checks to see if the vehicle has any armament of any kind mounted on it.

When no orders came, Det's voice came over the comm again, " Dammit, they must be tracking the merc's ride. Monkey men and Overlords. They are vectoring right in on you guys. Gotta go to ground here."
Shep looked at Sam, then motioned for her to get going. "We gotta find cover. Quick."
Tori and Tak missed it, but Janxi could sense the supernatural presences approaching amongst the Splugorth forces. All three of them knew they didn't have much time before they would be on top of them judging by the noise they were making.
Kain instead picked up on something else while the cats focused on the forces coming from behind. The mercs must have known they were being followed and had come back, and one of them was beckoning Kain to hurry to their position.

Kain looks at the merc for a moment, trying to sense if he was legit or trying to lure him into a trap. Instead of debating that particular issue he moves towards them as quickly and quietly as he can. With Atlantian forces in the area it was best to be safe than sorry. Afterwards, they CS and Mercs could kill each other at their leisure without being disturbed.

Tori kept hearing of Splugorth. She hadn't picked any up yet, but figured they were on the other side of the river, with her team. Given the choice of what side of the river to be on, she preferred her side with the Mercs instead of with the Sploogies.
"Janxi, cross the bridge, now!" Tori used her telekinesis to her partner. She readied her weapon to cover her friend, and her team. She waited at her position to cover everyone as they fell back, though she wanted badly to retreat.

Janxi felt the supernatural closing in on her, then she heard a voice in her mind. The voice she trusted most in the world. "Tacky, team, bridge! Go now, we're gittin' boxed in."
She stalked down as quickly as possible to cross the bridge. At the same time, she was ready to shoot any mercs or splugorth. At the same time, she sent a message to Tori using her mind.
"We're comin' T-Bone. We're comin. Cover us!"

Takota quickly fades away from the APC making his way toward the bridge. He keeps his eye's and ears scanning the area as well as reaching out with other senses to try and track anything approaching.
Pausing for a moment he tries to determine if they will be caught in the middle of bridge if they cross before anything shows up. He'd much rather find a nice place to blend in and wait to move when possible or ambush if necessary.

Takota and Janxi could feel, as well Kain and Tori could watch, they all knew quickly that Captain Fraser and Shep weren't going to make it before the Splugorth caught up with them.

"Six, it's Tori.," the tiny cat said in her leader's mind. "Tha splooge-spots are arrivin' on yer position. Shelter in place an' take cover. Me an Janx are coverin' ya. Hide an' don't give em any sign yer there. We'll draw they-er fire..."
The little cat ducked down and watched Six's position. Anything that approached, she'd do her best to get its attention.

Janxi nodded at whatever mercs she saw. She readied Goliath at the splugorth and ducked as she could, diving behind a worthless tree-stump. She communicated with Tori and Sam with her mind.

Takota glances over at the bridge trying to mentally measure the distance from one side to the other. He then turns his head to look over at where Shep and Merin are.
Giving a quick wave to try and get the attention of Janxi and Tori he whispers over the com, "Do you think you can give the others enough cover fire to get across the bridge if I borrow the mercs ATV and drive it into the sploogies? It is always possible that could cause enough confusion to make time enough for them to cross and you wont even have to fire a shot."

"Stay where you're at." Shep's voice came over the team radios. " Splooges are coming right in on top of the Captain and me. Det, Scope, circle around to Kain and the shags once you're clear.
"Got it, Shep."Scope replied, "What about you two?"
"You just worry about doing what you're told."Shep snapped,"If I have to, well slipp out the back way."
Something caught Janxi's eye. One of the merc's was trying to get the team's attention with hand signals. He was warning them to get low. Then mimiced something towards their vehicle. he pointed towards it, then made an explosion gesture with his hands, then warned to get down again.

Tori stayed in her hide. A fishing cat's camo was designed for just this, plus her 3D camo suit and everything else kept her well hid.
All she could do was wait for the danger feeling to come.

Janxi nodded to the merc, then telepathed Takota. "Tacky, no. The truck's trapped. Duck and cover!"
She readied her rifle to cover Takota and sought what cover she could. A cypress tree wasn't much versus a laser rifle, but there wasn't much else.
(Gonna pull a Tori. I think I have a song that is good for this occasion, and will generate some fresh interest.)

Kain hope he was a safe distance away with the mercs, now knowing they had rig their ride to go up when the Splorgs arrive. He finds a nice spot amongst the undergrowth and the mercs and checks his weapon once more to ensure its ready to do the work need to kill their enemies.
