* Sierra looks at Avi for a moment .. and the emotions play on the face briefly and then she sighs* 'he didn't. not really. i can't talk to you if you have a girlfriend, sorry ... ' *then tries to step past without touching him, her face now set again in the misery it was before* 'you guys got a treadmill or a punching bag or something? i'm about to blow up and i want to vent without killing someone .. i hate being made to look like an idiot for someone's idea of humour .. '

Alice utters a suprised laugh and wraps her arms around Jason's neck as he carries her back to where she had left her towel.
Her smiles disappears and she falls quiet as she thinks about what Jason had just told her.
She falls quiet again, looking out over the water befor asking, "What would you say if I wanted to come with you?"

"Yeah," Craig replied to Trevor, though he wasn't sure if he was even heard.
With the supposed action now finished, Craig tried to figure out why he had come outside in the first place. Finally remembering, he turned back to the house. He paused for a moment, debating about firing off a blast for the fun of it, but decided against it. It wasn't like him to use his powers anyway. The night in the bar was the first time in a while that he'd used any of his powers. Why? He really had no answer to the internal question. It was like being asked why are your eyes blue or why is your hair brown. It was just the way he was.
Sure he used them quite a bit when he was younger, but that had been his juvenile hormones driving it. He made his way to the door while considering the past use of his powers. If anyone had found him, found out what he was doing or what he could do, how might his life had been different? So far, he kept his abilities to himself and that had kept him out of the spotlight. No predjudical comments that some other metas had received.
At least he didn't have a physical mutation. He could only imagine how those people coped with the insults, threats and abuse.
As he closed the door, he heard Sierra's last comment and initially decided this wasn't the best time. But, he changed his mind and walked quickly after her.
Once out of the kitchen, Craig called out.
"Sierra, hold a sec. I need to ask you about something." He continued to walk toward her so he wouldn't have to speak so loudly.

* Sierra pauses as she hears her name, and then turns to look back at Avi and Craig. the tears in the eyes seem to vanish as she waits, but its the sigh as she crosses the arms and waits that speaks volumes now.
*it shows someone on the verge of snapping one way or another. the next words will tell what way she'll go. the trembling hands show the strange pattern as they vanish under cloth, and the weight shifts, a mark of someone felling trapped and about to bolt ... maybe

William grimaces a little, seeing Jason in the power suit again. "Bring Dmitri back." William says. "I think I have a plan."
With that, William breezes out of the war room to listen in on Alice and Jason, while he figures out how to use the tracking beacons.

*Sierra backs up 2 steps as William enters the area and then is gone. the stress of that near confrontation is enough for the arms to drop and her independent streak and anger to vanish like a candle being blown out. then her head drops and she looks at the hands with their scales, then moves them out of view. when she looks up, a tear is trickling down the face, as the wall of difiance is shattered and lost

" In the back of the garage." Avi said to Sierra as she bolted, leaving him to look at Craig and shook his head. " You better run if you're gonna keep up."
Sierra's flight is cut short as a shimmering arch appears in front of her. Before she can get stopped, Dimitri appears out of nowheres and catches her headlong run as his gateway vanishes behind him. Releasing her yet still holding her by the shoulders in a comforting manner, he looked at herwith concern," What's wrong? Has the Brethren found us again?" Even as he said it, a mercury like substance seemed to seep from his pores until his body was encased in a second skin of metal, yet his gaze held the same look of concern.
Without knowing Will was eavesdropping, Jason looked at Alice in disbelief," I'd think you're crazy. You don't want to go with me, heck, I'm not even sure I want to go. But I think it would make things alot simpler. I don't handle authority very well, especially Will's type of authority. That's why Mac gave me the solo job I had. I'll work with Tyler for now, until I decide what's my best move." He stroked his hand through her hair. " Besides, Gramps would never allow it. I can picture him hovering at the gates with fireballs ready to fry my tush, bellowing,' The two of you get back in that house now. Nobody goes anywheres without my approval'." He did a lousy impression of Will, and couldn't help but chuckle afterwards.

Stepping into view, he says, "If you leave, it means you're leaving Control's employ. As such, I'll require you to hand over the power suit, as it is a term of your employment. Failure to do so will result in a warrant issued through the local police, and assistance in your apprehension by Control." William doesn't sound like he's kidding. "Otherwise, you're free to go, and live your life, sesiure to sesiure until your neck snaps and you die in the dinge of the rooming house that takes you."

* a part of Sierra's mind tells her how to get away from this one. a simple grab, lift and twist and then a powerful body slam ... but the thought does not sit easy within her heart. ' .. don't know what a Brethren is ... i ... i don't know what's going on. Alice says that you're under attack all the time, but no one's preparing or practicing or .. and ... *sighs as the tears start falling faster* ... now it seems that i'm nothing more than .. a means to get Jason back with Alice. and she yelled at me, so its pointless to practice with someone with a girlfriend .. and .. my family disowned me cause i fought and you caught me at it and ... *hiccups now and wipes at the tears*
' .. i'm used to being up at 5am .. training till 8, and eating breakfast .. then train until 12. have lunch and then schooling for .. 3 hours then chores, then getting ready to do the show .. or shows .. and .. then into bed by 9 to do it all again at 5 the next morning. and .. i, i'm lost without a schedule. i don't know what i'm supposed to do, but i don't want to be used like Jason used me, and .. i really thought he liked me. not Jason, but ...'
*sniffles as the shoulders droop. 'this is the first time i've been away from them .. and i miss them .. and .. dammit, i'm jealous cause i cant be like the rest of you. i look freaky. and i'm peeling. and i think its cause of all the powers about me, and i've never had any about me before .. and, i .. miss Bubba ....' *starts crying now, the self-imposed block that prevented her from showing her emotions vanishes in an instant as she babbles then can be heard muttering as she now struggles to regain control* ' ... but the show must go on ..'

Alice can't help but giggle at Jason's impression of Will, and leans into him with a smile as he runs his hand through her hair.
"Look Jason," she says quietly, "you said so yourself that you're not sure that you want to leave, so don't. You would be a big help to the team because you have experience that most of the team doesn't. You could always get along with Will if you both try a little harder." Alice pauses and adds, "And well, I don't want you to go. I did mean it though when I said I would go with you if you left. Because I would."
Alice jumps a bit, startled, when Will talks to Jason, and she tenses a little, not knowing how Jason will react to this, but knows that it will not be good.

Jason's reaction wasn't as quick as Alice's, but his surprise was evident. " Sorry Will, but you're wrong. I has a Level 11 National Security clearance, which declares that I have the director's approval to operate either in a team capacity or as an individual, depending on how I see fit. I appreciate you're concern, but you don't have the pull to make that decision." He folded his arms acrossed his chest. " And it's got nothing to do with your threat, old man, but I'll stay. Not because you want it, but because I think Alice is better off here with the others until she gets a better handle on her abilities. " He looked at her with a smirk. " Sorry, but I can't bring myself to lead you into the kind of crudstorms I usually go looking for."
(OOC: Will would also know that the level 11 designation was generally used by 'wet work' specialists within the organization when he was previously working with MacColter)
Dimitri didn't let go, but his grip slackened to one more of support than of capture. " Please, Sierra. Slow down, my english is fair, but you're throwing too much at me at once. Calm down and start over. What makes you think Jason was trying to use you? He and Alice seem to have a connection that I doubt he would want to break. Is it possible that he merely wanted to help you? Kerry seems to think that Jason has a reputation as a good teacher and that he seems to enjoy it."

Ashley opened her eyes and looked at Isamu with a faint smile. " That depends on who you ask. I feel okay over than a little rundown, but Ty seems to think I'm lucky to be alive. I found Troll and followed him back to his lair, but he used his would be victim to get the drop on me. I still gave as good as I got thought. And there's a pair of cops that tried to capture me. I don't think I killed them, but I did more than defend myself."
She set her hand atop Isamu's, " Thank you for coming after me. I'm sorry I broke my word, but I could feel the bloodlust building and didn't want to endanger Janie."

*Sierra continues to hiccup and struggle to get under control, and finally stops crying. ' .. he .. i think .. i think he tricked me so Alice would come get him. he could have told me to get lost. i might have been sheltered from the world, but i'm not stupid. she came and yelled. then ... '
*she stops now, to think her words over. 'boy, i sure sound like a dope now. she's got him .. you have someone .. and i lost everything' *a deep sigh, and looks up and smiles again. pain shows, but at least now its not clouding her thoughts. 'sorry .. i wont run, but i dont want to talk to Jason. bet he'ld call me baby or something

William grins, politely, at Jason. They way you grin at someone who just has no clue. "When the thoughts in your head align with reality, I'll pay attention to you. Until they do, you pay attention to me. Leaving without permissoin as you were about to do does not constitute and action under your clearance and, as such does not warrant permission to use the suit. As a result, I would have every right to take the suit back, by hook or by crook. And, just because you haven't heard of me doesn't mean I haven't been around for 50 years, working inside government circles, and training your bosses."
Stepping aside with a wave, he says, "So, please, continu to think what you want, and lie the way you want. But, do so at your own risk."
"Alice, so that you know, You and Jason shot your way out of a surgery that would repair the damage to Jason's spine, and prevent the seirures. MacCotler was doing Jason a favour by moving it up the line. I thought you sould know, our little wanna-be lone wolf is quite self-destructive."
