Getting into the truck, Alice is quiet as she pulls out of the parking lot and drives away, keeping an eye out for any police that may decide to chase them. After a minute or two, she says "When I was driving here, I kept having this.. I don't know, vision flashing through my head of the two of us fighting through security to get out of the hospital. And it happened. It's kind of freaking me out a bit, I guess." Alice falls silent, as she thinks about how Jason's behaviour in the hospital worried her as well, but says nothing as she continues to drive.

Kerry looked at Craig almost amused as he set a second can of Coke in front of him. " Let's see if I can get this right. We all work for a government agency called the NSCA. Basically, we're the meta-feds, and handle stuff that SCRET doesn't. We try to stay under the public's radar as best we can, so there isn't much for limelight. The main thing is we learn to work as a team. If we can do that, we can clean up this mess here and move on to somewhere's else. But with the way this place is, Century Station is the only place I know of with a bigger mess than this."
" Out on the Deck, Trevor continued to lead Sierra down to the sand. " Not sure how well this is gonna work." His lower body began to lick with flames and his feet came clear of the sand. with a bit of effort, only his legs were engulfed and he scooped Sierra up in his arms. " Air Trevor now boarding. You'll have to show me which way to go." He said as they lifted off into the night sky.

" I've been a little busy to be building cages." Tyler replied with a sigh. " She'll head for the glades. Out beyond the gravel pit there's a cave she's run off to before. She must have thought someone would be in danger...." He jammed hard on the brakes at an intersection and turned to Isamu. " did Ashley ever say anything to you about someone named Troll?"

Turning around to face Alice, Jason seemed to change back into the jason she knew. " Really? Like just a rough picture, or exactly what happened? I don't think they'll chase us. We should be fine after a couple of blocks. I... I want to talk anyways. I need to explain." He said, looking her in the eyes using the mirror.
" You just missed them." The security guard explained. He pointed up the street. " Black suburban. You guys cops or something?"
Avi never took the car out of gear, waiting for Will to get back in.

Alice is quiet for a minute before responding "No, not exactly the same. But it was pretty close to it." Continuing to drive, she says gently, "Ok. I'm listening."

" Come on Sierra, I need directions here." Trevor said, trying to goad a response from her as they skirted the rooftops.

" That's why I wanted you to stay out of my head." Jason explained, " I can't help it, but when I get really worked up, I slip into another frame of mind. I'm still in control but,.. it's like I enjoy the mayhem I cause. " He pauses again," I didn't want you to see it. Besides you, Mac and Ryne are the only ones to ever see it in high gear. Did... I didn't mean to worry you."

" The old one is trashed. Troll is a dispicable excuse for a meta and a known serial killer. He's been taunting Ashley for a few months since they crossed pathslast fall and she's taken it personal." Tyler explained.

*Sierra continues to stare .. the face now white with utter fear. images of the forest fire that comsumed so many of her friends, down to the frantic and panicing roaring of Bubba echo in her head.
*her throat constricts, as she smells charring flesh amoung other things .. like grease and fabric and the trees. the warbled terror filled cry of ' ... oooonooonnonononooooo .... ' is heard as it slowly builds up and then she's all legs and arms in her massive struggle to flee. forgetting all about her own ability to evade the damage, just reacts out of fear and her body does something from instinct to protect itself ... it copies the nearest meta .. and just as abruptly becomes a mirror image of trevor .. the flames licking up the legs at first and then it comsumes the rest of the body.

Making sure that there are no police following them, Alice pulls into the nearest parking lot and turns off the engine. Climbing into the back, she takes a deep breath and says quietly, "It seemed like you were having fun back there and weren't in control any more." Alice looks down at her hands as she says softly "It did worry me, I have to admit."

"That's what I mean." Tyler replied. " If Ashley got it in her head to go after him now, she'll tear the city apart hunting him down. and before she blew town, a girl named Sparks told her where to find him. I'm hoping she forgot, but we better check." He gunned the engine.

" In a sense, I was. " Jason replied . " It's kind of a medical condition that havs to do with adrenaline rush. I.. get off on it, and once it starts, I can't get enough. I didn't mean to scare you, but I was in control. That's what makes it so bad, I know exactly what I'm doing, just can't stop myself."
Avi pulled the car away. after a few minutes, he pointed, " That them?" He rolled past the suburban and parked further down the street.

Listening to Kerry's explanation of who they are and what they do, Craig could only shake his head.
"Then you definitely don't want me. I can shoot some fireworks, toss a couple firecrackers. Call me when you're looking for a nice Fourth of July celebration not when you need someone for investigation or fighting." Lifting the can of Coke, he says thanks and pops the top.
"You know," Craig says as an afterthought, "if this is the standard recruitment technique, then maybe that's why I have a better success record than you guys do." Immediately after he said the words, he regretted every single one of them. Too late now, though. Craig would just have to wait for the reaction and hope the guy thought it was a joke.

"Yep. That's the one." William says as Avery parks. "Head back to the house. I'll bring them home. Also, make sure everyone's there, and start planting the idea that we're a policing unit now, and not just a bunch of rowdies. I'ld rather not have to turn it into a military unit by force."
And with that, he gets out, makes his way to the suburban.
When he gets there, he quickly opens the driver door, starts the engine and gets driving. "You should have told us where you were going, Alice. Hello Jason."

*hears nothing as she starts the plummet t the ground. her attention is taken up with trying to smother the flames. then noticing what appears to be a flying fireball aimed at her, tries to dodge.
*as Sierra dodges the fireball coming straight at her, turns and smashes head first into the nasty evil building that snuck up on her from behind. [jeez .. the joy's of rolling a Nat 1 .. *sigh*]. the building successful in its prowl and back attack, has rendered the panicking girl into blissful blackness. the flames start to fade from the body, as she proceeds to drop towards the ground from the corner of the brick building

" You got it ." Avi replied as he pulled away into the night.
Jason jumped slightly at Will's sudden appearance. " Uh, hi Will. Wasn't expecting to see you out here. Don't blame Alice, the mess at the hospital is my fault, she just came to bail me out before they forced me into surgery."

" There is no standard routine, but trust me, this is pretty tame." Kerry replied with a pained look on his face. " I got drafted after stepping on a landmine doing my part to hunt down Bin Laden. Next thing I know, I'm like that Steve Austin guy on tv reruns and told they had a plan for me." To prove his point, he held up his hand and a pair of metallic blades popped out of the back of his right wrist, and then quickly retracted. " I'm only 19 and I'm a cross between wolverine and the terminator. You really think you got it so bad?"

Trevor swooped in, hitting the ground hard in the process of breaking Sierra's freefall. With a groan of discomfort, he picked her up again and took to the sky, heading home. He landed on the upper balcony and carried her into an empty room and dropped her on the bed. As he pulled the door shut, he shook his head," Could have warned me that you were a dupe." He said under his breath as he pulled it shut.
