Chapter 16- Taking Control

"When I request something, Kerry, I don't do so for it to be done half-assed.." He says sternly. "You're dealing with the single longest-serving working military man. If I wanted half-assed, I'ld be working for MacCotler. When I say 'check' I mean 'check' not 'placate the old man'. Got it? Now check."

[Mierin]

Once Alice has caught up with the woman she says "Since you are in a hurry, I'll be blunt: Are you Jason Dexter's physiotherapist? I was told his physiotherapist was male. And for that matter, why can't Jason remember what happened during his appointment? What did you do to make him forget?" Alice waits quietly, a little nervous at how this woman would react to what she had just said.

" No offense, sir," Kerry replied with a groan, " I'll cut you some slack since I respect you. If you had a bug on you that was transmitting, the crap they stuck in my head when they put the pieces back together would have told me. I may still be a kid to you, but I don't do half assed. That's why that one you found bothers me. It had to be put there by someone who knew about my implants. Not many do."


" What do you mean, his therapist is a man?" The woman looked at Alice as if looking threw her. Her words seemed to echo in alice's head. " Yes, I'm his therapist, now go back to his room and go back to your boyfriend so I can go about my business." (make a roll on d20, 12 or better to save)


ashley stayed there for a few minutes with her head buried in her shoulder, ashley finally said. " I'll be okay, just want to lay down for a little while and try to get some rest."

Alice looks at the woman with a firm look as she repeats "Yes. That's what I was told. That you are NOT his physiotherapist. So I'll ask you again: who are you?"

The woman merely smirked as she shrugged. " Someone has misled you, I'm afraid. And my name is..."

Tyler cut her off from behind alice, his tone puzzled," Charisma?"

The hallway was suddenly brighter than the sun as a flash of blinding light radiated from her body shrieks of surprise from everyone in the hallway filled the air. (saving throw 16 or better to keep from tripping over anything, regardless she's gone when Alice's eyes come back to normal after about a minute and a half)

Alice covers her eyes and cries out in surprise at the bright light. Once she can see again, she looks again frantically. "Bloody hell!" she rants "She's gone!" Turning to Tyler, she asks "You know who she is? How in the bloody hell did she do that?"

Rubbing his eyes, Ty shook her head. " That's one of Charlie's powers. She can turn into or use light. She's also got the gift to make people do what she wants. Haven't seen her in four or five years." He added as if reminescing.

Alice shakes her head "Well, why would she pretend to be Jason's physiotherapist and why would she take off like that if you two know each other?" Alice pauses and asks out loud "I wonder why she couldn't make me do what she wanted. She told me to go back to Jason but I didn't."

" Who ever she works for now must have wanted something in Jason's head." Tyler replied, looking back the hallway at his brother rolling their way. " I used to work with her before I left Mac's operation. We got kinda close., but that was before I met Felicia." He went silent as his comment hit a nerve.

William looks over at Kerry. "Thank-you for checking." He says, getting up and finally heading back to the house. "We are in the midst of a greater consipiracy handling elements I hadn't encourted, probably in your own lifetime. Some I even thought dead - or wished I had killed myself when I had the chance. And there are a great number of these elements. It is entirely possible your abilities are known to the coup."

Isamu says, "You lie down, would you like me to stay with you?"

Alice nods quietly at Tyler, not wanting to pry too much into his personal life. Once Jason has gotten to where they are, she looks sad when she says "I'm sorry, I caught up to her, but she used a really bright light and got away."

" I'll be okay, Is."Ashley replied as she slipped from his embrace to sit on the bed. " You go out with the others. Maybe you can find out what Will is up to."



" Great, that's just great." Jason sputtered.

" Calm down, Jas." Tyler suggested, putting a hand on his brothers shoulder" You're supposed to be recovering."

" I am calm, Ty. sorry, Alice, I know it's not your fault." Jason's demeanor seemed to be improving as he seemed to sit upright more in his chair. It wasn't hard to tell that Ty was using his abilities to help Jason's recovery.

Ty released his hold after a moment and stepped out of arm's reach. " Now if only she can talk some sense into you about surgery." He stepped further away as Jason swung futilely at Tyler's kness., grinning the whole time. Ty looked at Alice. " Can you get him back to his room without me? I'll see what I can do to find her."



" Knoe about my abilities? But only Mr. MacColter and a few of his people know the details." Kerry explained. " Avi is the only one I've been with the team long enough to get to know, and that's only because he's been my training officer of sorts, showing me the ropes and teaching me about this kind of field work."

"Call me if you need anything ok? I will come right away," Isamu says as he watches her lie back. He then turns and heads downstairs to see if anyone is around. If he finds anyone he will ask if they had heard from the others.
