Chapter 16- Taking Control

ALice sits quietly as she waits for Jason's physio appointment to finish up.

Kerry nodded with an obedient "Sounds good." as he followed Will. It wasn't hard for them to get a taxi to take them to where the fight had happened. At one point, the cab driver gave Kerry a dirty look for accusing him of ' taking him and his grandpa on the scenic route'. when they arrived, Kerry paid for the cab and then again followed Will's lead.. when they reached where they had faced Wraith's ambush, the only evdence police left behind were bullet holes in the walls.



" The only thing thats going to show up is a bear monster if we don't get back," Ashley warned as Isamu made her wait," and there's no need to call ahead unless you want to warn Trevor not to start again."

Instictively, she sniff the air again," No, it's gone now." At the same time, she offered him her phone in case he still wanted it.



After a few long minutes, the woman rolled Jason from his room. " You missed me that bad?" Jason asked warmly as he spotted Alice. " We can take it from here."

"Okay," the woman replied and started to walk away, only to be stopped by the receptionist. As Jason asked what Mac had to say, she could overhear the receptionist question the woman. The woman answered with a gesture of her hand, and then the receptionist repeated exactly what the woman had said in an agreeing tone, only to sit back at her desk and go back to work as if nothing had happened. The woman then walked towards the elevators.

After they arrive, William sits on a nearby bench, playing it all out in his mind. They appeared from no-where, and then disappeared down to the manhole. They had just the right troops to counter the group... "Kerry, how much did you know of us before you were assigned?"

[Dome]

Isamu grabs the phone from Ashley but just puts it in his pocket. He then grabs her hand and begins heading towards the safe house without a word.

" All I knew is what Avi told me. That you and Jason's brother had worked with Mr. MacColter in the past but left on less than favorable terms. " Kerry replied. " He also said that Jason's future sister in law was with you and one of Fire Chief Mitchell's sons. Other than that, he told me to do what you said as if you were Mr. MacColter. If he knew anymore, he didn't tell me." He looked around. " Why are we just sitting here? I already know where to look for these scumbags tonight. I'm surprised Avi didn't think of it."


Ashley let Isamu lead her back to the beachhouse. Trevor was sitting on the back deck chatting on his cellphone as they came up the stairs. covering the receiver, he asked," so how was breakf...," He looked at Ashley with concern, then Isamu," what happened? Are you okay Ash?"

" I'm okay Trev." she sighed, eyeing Isamu. " I'm going to go lay down and relax." she gave Isamu a peck on the cheek before walking in the house.

[Dome]

"Trevor, I don't think anymore of your teasing will go over very well for the next few days. I know that you mean no harm, but she is having a hard time with the full moon approaching."

[Mierin]

Alice smiles quietly "The nurse said I could wait for you here when I got back to your room." She watches the woman curiously before replying "He thanked me for letting him know and said he'd look into it." She falls quiet before asking "Who was that?"

" That was the physiotherapist." Jason replied, giving Alice a puzzled look. " But, I don't remember my session, but I feel like I've been put through the ringer. In fact...," his face changed to concern, " alice, how long was I in there? The last thing I remeember is being wheeled down here."


Trevor nodded as he watched her walk away. " I know, but it's hard. since we've known each other, Ash has been like a sister to me. hopefully she'll accept the peace offering I had Dimitri pick up for me."

Alice is quiet as she thinks about Jason's question "I'm not sure, at least half an hour, if not an hour." As they continue on to Jason's room, she sends a telpathic message, just in case, 'I think she has some kind of powers to erase people's memories. I think I saw her do something to the receptionist.

" A half hour? I could have told her anything!" oh lord, what are we ... Alice, we gotta find her. If she tells the wrong people, there's no telling what may happen." Jason had a look of genuine fear in his eyes.

[Mierin]

Alice nods and smiles at Jason in a re-assuring manner. "We'll go look for her," she says as she heads in the direction she last saw the woman going.

"What did they pick up for her?" Isamu asks Trevor. He then follows Ashley hoping whatever it is will make her happy and take her mind off of her 'other side'

Jason gets annoyed at Alice's response. " You're not listening. If she works for Wraith, he'll find out everything about us. All of us. He could know our weaknesses, about the beachhouse, even our families. Where the heck is Ty? We need his help too." He started rolling himself along the corridor, looking in open doorways."



" don't worry, she'll show you." Trevor replied, returning to his conversation as Isamu went after Ashley. In their room, he found her chuckling as she held up a short hotpink surfboard. " That crazy kid got me a boogeyboard! I can't wait to try it out!"

"He told me he got you something, but didnt say what. Will you teach me to use that? I assume it goes in the water."

[Mierin]

Alice glares at Jason "I'm well aware of that." she snaps at him "That's why we're going to try to find her." She then walks in front of Jason, "I saw Tyler outside talking on his phone with Trevor. I'll see if he's still there." With that, Alice stomps off.
