Some rich god or something gets bored, and wants to hold a tournament as an excuse to buy a really wicked flatscreen. To do so, he calls in the greatest melee combatants from all around the everything, everywhere and everywhen. And Joe, the Ninja Janitor, to clean up the mess.

Reckless abandon
Your base/ship/city/island is succumbing to attacks by invading robots/aliens/monster/mutant gorilla Nazis/The Empire, and you have to cover the retreat.
A game focusing entirely on the moments of an evacuation, as the remainders (he players) stay behind to hold he invaders at bay.

Mythopolis is a city divided in several sections each containing an entire Mythology and its respective creatures and worshipers. the city is normally peaceful with the odd skirmish between one or more mythologies.
System: any with a magic and/or super human abilities
Player options:
The Law enforcement:
The PC's are the police responsible for keeping law and order in the city. As the peace keepers they resolve conflicts, solve murders and other duties. Its Cops...with magical powers?
Adventure ideas:
-A drunken Thor making his way down main street
-Zeus and Hera having a domestic incident.
-Aphrodite mistakenly getting picked up for soliciting.
-A group of Valkaries and Gorgons are starting to tangle it up in the streets. the Mayor wants PC's to end this before they start a full on turf war between the Norse and Greeks...
Freelance detectives:
The city of mythopolis is like any other with jealous wives, unscrupulus siblings and other near-do-wells needing apprehending. Jobs from survailance on unfaithful gods, to recovering a lost eye or War hammer to finding out who framed various gods for crimes they did not commit..a Detectives work is never done..
Adventure ideas
-Hera wanting them to trail and spy on her husband or one of his suspected lovers.
-Odin sending them to recover his eye from the Well/fates
-Cupid asks to the detectives to recover his stolen bow. (and yse you know there will be some collateral side effects..)
The civil service:
The life of civil servents in real life is pretty mundane. But Mythopolis your average civil servent is pretty savvy having to deal with Harpie infested sewers, Giant world spanning serpents in the city water reseviore and mystic portals in the most inconvienent places to a number other mydrid and mystical animals. Its not easy being a civil servent here..the pay is low, the benifits only decent but its an adventure and the perks often out way the risk. Think "Men at work" meets "Willow"...
Adventure Ideas:
-The kraken has moved into the city water supply and decided he likes the area...its up to the poor sods sent from the Civil service to remove him. i.e. the PC's
- The World serpent is running rampent in the Sewers of the city. Its up to the Civil Service to end it..hopefully with the city staying intact.
- the Great spirit Thunderbird is flying through the city ahhhh...leaving his 'wisdom' on top of vehicles and pedestrians...find out why and how to solve this.
