Episode 2: Death From the Skies

[Nightvision]

The robots, Superman counts 80 of them, land with a thud that shakes the buildings around them and leaves cracks in the asphalt of the street. They march down the street in double file.



Each robot is about 50 meters tall (that corresponds to 165 ft.). They march along the street, mindless of people, mindless of everything around them. They break off lampposts and crush cars under their metal feet.

Superman, you check them with your x-ray vision, but you can't see through or into them -- they are covered with a layer of lead that is just thick enough to block your x-ray vision.

Green Lantern arrives, giving Green Arrow a power ring lift. Flash already runs rings around the robots, checking them out.

In space, Hawkgirl heads for the Watchtower's bridge, where the Martian Manhunter and Mr Terrific are coordinating efforts.

Immediately taking command of the situation, Superman barks out. "Flash, get the people out of the way. Lantern, contain the area. Arrow, look for a weak spot." Taking a deep breath, the Man of Steel quickly scans the area for any civilians in high areas where the Flash might not be able to get to them fast enough.

" _{Besides me?} " Green Arrow said to himself as he found a decent vantage point to watch the approaching robots (Notice [dice=20+11] ) , looking for any variation in their movements, signs they were remotely controlled or even something to use as a choke point to slow their advance [rand=93494907871355013686832034079719609936197217247911229830513648847]

SUPERMAN

As you scan the area, you see Lois Lane nearby. She runs towards the advancing robots. Her course will inevitably result in Lois getting stepped on. You also notice what made her run: a little girl, stuck in an abandoned car that is about to be stepped on.

GREEN ARROW
You're no robotics expert, but it looks to you as if the robots are not remote controlled or guided by an AI. The way they simply ignore everything in their path suggests to you that they are pre-programmed for one specific destination or objective. As you look around for a choke point, you realize that the street they're following (which allows no choke points, it's a wide six-lane main street) will lead them to Metropolis's STAR Labs facilities.
You also conclude that the only possible weak points where your arrows might do any good are the joints where the arms and legs are joined to the torso. But you're not confident that your arrows might do any good against such a massive enemy. Then again, you've brought down giant robots before...

"Guys, they must be headed for STAR labs, only target down this way that makes sense." Green Arrow shouted as he notched an explosive arrow and let fly for the lead robots inside knee joint, hoping that if it toppled, it would fall in front of the other row of robots and hopefully slow their advance.

"understood Arrow. One moment." The Last Son of Krypton dives out of the sky, picking up the car with the girl in it as well as Lois Lane. "Do you ever think we meet like this too much?" He tries to quip.

When Shayera sees J'onn, she asks him, "Can I talk to you for a minute?"

Kyle quickly takes to the sky, getting a better angle on the situation, and begins building a metal cage of green willpower to envelope the legion of machines. The spaces in between each bar will be large enough for people to escape through and allow the Flash to continue his high speed work.
