Flip sighs as he checks the controls, "I don't know Mensk. The Captain is a little hard to read. I mean he seems a little hot and cold. For instance, one minute he tells me to pull off a maneuver, the next he reprimands me and tells me not to do it again. He may have been joking but I don't know."
He pauses a moment. "Maybe you should wait till he seems to be in an extremely good mood, then approach him. Right now he seemed tense, think something happened with the Doctor, she stormed out of here as I was coming in."

"Yes sir." McKenna mocked a salute as the doors closed, and then let her shoulders slump, worn out from keeping up appearances. She gave Jessica a sideways glance," Go ahead, chew me out for being so dramatic or something. I probably deserve it."

Jessica shakes her head and says, "No, not this time." She smirks a little as she adds, "If Tawfeek did what I think he did, you're not the first crew-mate he's done it to." Jessica shrugs as she continues, "As I recall, I yelled at him quite a bit."

McKenna explained how she had assumed Capt. Stewart was dead, only to find Franklin in medbay talking with him. " The bastard is probably chuckling proudly all the way to the bridge. I should have hit him, I wanted to." Her emotions were still penned up inside her, unable to vent yet.

On the Bridge
Mensk looked out the windows into space, the sun to one side, presumably the Earth up ahead.
"I just have a lead, I guess. Don't know how easy it would be, but the money would be good," He said.
In the hallway
There was no chuckling to be heard through the walls, as McKenna and Jessica chatted.
