Vision could tell immediately that despite looking and acting like their teammate, the intruder was a machine nearly as sophisticated as himself.

Tally absorbs the energy, and is instantly aware that it was a powerful blast.

The machine did not move as Cap slammed it with his shield. Instead it merely changed targets again

"Captain! I traced an unauthorized transmission to three other sources acros...Aaarrgrrh!" Songbird took the Sentinel's blast before she had chance to realize what was going on, knocking her back against the wall. Somehow she stayed on her feet, bringing up her forcefield, grumbling," Someone could have warned me we were having a party."


[In the City]

Tabitha shook her head," No idea. Uh, should you be out here on the street in the open like this?"

Above, the engine soundes were getting louder, but Tab didn't seem to hear them.

"This Sentinel has nothing organic within," he calls out. "Strike with extreme prejudice!"

He increases his own density by 500 pounds and hits the Sentinel with his fist.

Flash turns slightly then stops and goes silent for a moment.

"Rhodey, I know my connection to the resistance had a rough start and I..I just wanted to say thanks for having my back. I made some bad choices, trying to be a good little soldier...but I should have known where to draw the line. I'm going to make atonement for it somehow, and this might be my chance. If anything happens to me, just know I consider you an inspiration and a friend."

At that Flash perks back up and starts on his way again, before calling over his shoulder, "Beers on me when I get back!"

Flash heads out towards the lounge, looking for either Carol or Reed.

Like I said, I heard you call for a ride and was nearby. Just making sure all was ok. Any idea what's going on at the mansion?"

'I can tell she likes me as Matt, but she doesn't want anything to do with me as DD,' he thinks before facing the direction of the incoming engine, "sounds like your ride is almost here."

Rhodes looked up at Flash, and shrugged," /we don't hold anyone's choices against them, and we've all made bad ones. Don't let it bother you. Now get out of here so I can try to fix this before I need it." He went back to working on his War Machine suit.

In the small room that served as a kitchen/dining room/lounge, Flash saw Ms. Marvel sitting at one of the two tables, still in costume from her mission, talking to Fixer. As he neared, he could hear Fixer was complaining about Rhodes not letting him help repair the War Machine suit. Carol was chuckling until she saw Flash approaching," what do you want?"

"Mother, be civilized." Scolded the younger Danvers from the kitchenette, pouring two cups of coffee. flash had worked with Glory several times and knew she and Tabitha were close friends. Her mother however, was known to hold grudges.

"I'll do as I wish, Gloria." Ms. Marvel focused on Flash, her eyes narrowed as she removed her mask. " Speak up, Venom." she said with a bit of contempt.

Fixer looked at Carol, then Flash, and then stood," I think I need to go work on something," and he left quickly.


Avenger's Mansion

As Cap's shield hammered down following X-23's paired blows to the head, the Hawkeye Sentinel cried out "Damage!" before the robot's head broke free from it's neck and the body teetered and collapsed to the floor.

"It ...," songbird was visibly shaken by the fake Hawkeye," I'm sorry, I should have picked up it wasn't Clint."


[In the City]

"No idea, I heard as much as you did. My ride?" Tabitha said as she looked in the same direction as DD. " The others can't be here yet, Songbird would have said they were mobile."

though Tab didn't seem to see anything, DD's senses could tell the approaching engines were coming from toward them from the south, and wasn't much bigger than a person.

"I didn't either until the phonecall, Songbird. It's forgiveable." Captain America looks at Vision. "Tactical assessment. Sinister is a mutant. Mutants and Sentinels don't mix. We're missing a piece." He hits his communicard. "Dr. Foster? I need you and Vision to get the security systems online immediately. Songbird, take Wolverine, Tally and X-23. Get GhostSabre and the others, and then we'll regroup and search for those other transmission points. I'll be co-ordinating from here until everyone's accounted for. Songbird, you're in charge." He looks about. "Alright people, get in the game and let's do our jobs."

[Dome]

"Not yet huh? Know anyone that can fly using only an engine," he asks as he draws his billy clubs.

[Nightvision]

"Captain, the Sentinel revealed itself when it heard the voice on the communicard -- I am not familiar with the voice, therefore I believe that this is the new recruit Ghostsabre. It stands to reason that the unknown number of Sentinels that this Hawkeye unit contacted will deploy to attack her. We need to warn her, stat, and deploy to render assistance.

As I mentioned, I have already reactivated the security systems. I agree, however, that Dr. Foster should look over our computers to ascertain that they have not been further tampered with. I would like to examine the Sentinel to see if I can find weaknesses. Ideally, something like a remote shut-down."

"Alright Cap." Picks up the something he snagged from the kitchen, hands it off to X-23 as they leave with Songbird. [Pint of chocolate milk]
