Issue 14: The Mistresses of Evil

Flash easily noticed the pair of motorcycles now tailing him as he swung across the New York cityscape towards the river. As he got closer, his symbiote suddenly became violently agitated. It had been a long time since he had reacted so strongly to something. And Flash knew that the only things that set his symbiote off like this was either another symbiote nearby, or the man who had been responsible for the symbiotes appearance in the first place.

Hawkeye paced himself so he fell in beside Cap before answering Vision. " We were at the southern end of Central Park when I followed him aboard the bus." He looked at Cap," So..., tell me you at least have a plan figured before we get there?"


While Daredevil managed to avoid a few stray energy blasts, the machine had mostly ignored him in favor focusing on Tabitha or retaliating to Songbird's attacks until the others arrived just as Tab took a blindsided blast from behind and Melissa narrowly avoided another. Spiderman was following one while ...

With Aura's last blast, Logan felt the Sentinel's feet fetch on the ground and immediately it pitched him forward into a tumble, only to spring to his feet (No dmg to Wolvie from the soft crash). X-23 landed from her own tumbled landing to stop only a few feet from Wolverine, her landing much more graceful than his.

The heavily damaged Sentinel began to try to get to it's feet while the one being pursued by Spiderman opened fire , sending an energy blast at X-23 [dice=20+4][rand=320338635805464330959749709323986200622122177215757265690570158694]

[Nightvision]

Vision takes off towards the southern end of Central Park. A mailbox at a bus stop, and he knows which line and which direction. It should not be that difficult to locate.

Captain America doesn't even look at Hawkeye. "Simple. She has an army - all in one location. I have one too." He takes out his communicard. "Send out the call Jarvis. All of them. To my position. Avengers Assemble."

"You two want to finish this one, and I am going to help Spiderman." She says trying to sound helpful and even trying to dodge into the blast from the sentinal so X-eee does not take any damage.

Flash smiles to himself, being mindful of the fact that both Hawkeye and the living legend himself were following behind.

However, as the symbiote flashes the emotional distress through his mind and physically shows signs of distress, Flash attempts to sooth it. <Hey, we knew this was a possibility. Don't get yourself all worked up. Work with me here. Me. Our Spiderman is dead. This one isn't ours, not anymore.> Flash thinks, trying to communicate with his suit, which, on more than one occassion, has saved his life. All the while attempting to swing and stay focused.

As Vision flies overhead, he begins to notice a pattern. Every second bus stop has a mail box. As he nears Central Park, he also spots a mail carrier emptying out a mail box at one of the stops.


" Of course, sir." Jarvis answered.
As both of their communicards began to give the Assemble message, Hawkeye looked at Cap," I wouldn't really call us an army. but the odds should be in our favor."


Flash could feel his symbiote resisting, but it wasn't trying to force him to change direction as strongly.

Everyone's communicards began to chirp the Assemble message. As X-23's claws sunk into the damaged sentinel, she saw it's eyes flicker black as it began to crumple beneath her. At the same time, another Sentinel flew backwards minus it's head, which lay at Tabitha's feet after a savage round house.

Songbird ordered," Finish up people, sounds like Cap has a bigger party waiting for us. And everyone is invited."

"I'm certain that Lady Mandarin has some surprises in store. Let's not keep her waiting." As the Sentinel of Liberty guns the engine and accelerates.

[Nightvision]

With the proliferation of mailboxes, Captain America's call and the urgency of securing the package before the mailman leaves, Vision does the logical thing: he calls for backup. Using his commcard, he contacts Jarvis.

"Jarvis, please contact Agent Sitwell at SHIELD and have them send agents to my location." He adds the address. "This is urgent. I need their manpower to locate, identify and secure a package that Mister Sinister placed in a mailbox in this area. Tell them to hurry, because it appears that this is the time when the mailboxes are emptied. Vision out."

Vision lands in front of the mailman. He displays his Avengers ID.

"Excuse me, Sir. This is an Avengers priority request on a matter of National Security. I require your assistance. It has been brought to our attention that a know terrorist has placed a package of unknown content in a mailbox at a busstop at South Central Park. Will you cooperate with the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. to identify and secure that package?"

Tally ready to go waits for everyone else to finish up before heading over, unless she is told to move sooner.

Finally earthbound, Wolverine takes the opportunity X-23 provides to slash deeply at the Sentinel's back with both claws.

Not the rider Cap is, Hawkeye fell behind him before surging to catch up as they were pulling ahead of the black Spiderman. " I hope you're right. Not in the mood for I-told-you-so's today."


Flash could see the pair of heroes pull past below him. He could tell even with his Symbiote's distraction that they were headed towards Lady Mandarin as well.

The mailman looked at Vision in slack jawed awe before nodding slowly. " Whatever I can do. That east or west? I only have the east pickups. Donnie has from the park west." The mail carrier looked at his collection vehicle. " I can call him on the squawk. He's usually ahead of me, so he's done around the park too."

Jarvis chimed in on Vision's communicard. " Agent Sitwell and a team are en route to your location. Can I be of any more assistance?"

Wolverine's claws ripped at the last remaining Sentinel. He felt one claw bounce off the robot while the other raked the Sentinel deeply while Aura watched. The Sentinel reacted by whirling around with a back handed punch [dice=20+4]

Seeing the active sentinal and knowing her job is not done, Aura decides to try something she has never really tried and climbs as high as she can to quickly accelerate on the dive. Once there she turns around and divebombs the sentinal with energy at the edge of her hands to blast once she pierces the shell.
