Ch. 1 Fun in the sun (Silverfire )

MarinaView Park was full of people enjoying a sunny Saturday afternoon after two days of late spring rains.

The relaxing afternoon stroll through the park gave him plenty of chance to forget about work and enjoy his vacation. The sounds of kids playing distracted him for a split second, just long enough for a goth kid to bump into him. " Sorry." the kid said as he continued past and disappeared into the crowds.

Expecting the worst, William was surprised his wallet and other valuables were still in place, but even more surprised to discover the kid had actually planted a disposible cellphone on him. Almost on cue, the phone rang.

*William rolls his eyes at the phone: Americans always need to be so melodramatic. He's easily enough contacted through from official channels. Eventually, as the ringing doesn't stop he picks up* "I'm sorry, you've got the wrong number." *He answers, and hangs up*

Within seconds, the phone began to ring again. The display showed it was the same number.

*William grunts, and answers again* "Yes?" *He says in an annoyed tone*

"That was very rude of you to hang up on me, Mr. Black." A digitally encoded voice replied. Despite the encoding, he easily made out it was female voice, possibly british. " And here I had a simple business proposition for you to consider."

"Oh?"

(Tag-phone lady)

" Yes, I think you'll fine it quite appealling." The voice replied. " I would like you to locate a man for me and bring him back here to the park. A very simple job for someone with your background."

"You know who I am. You want me to work for you, then you also know the way to get me to do that. Good day. These super mysterious digital voice things never impressed me. Goohd dahy (English Accent)" *He responds in a clip tone. Knowing his agreement with DnD means exclusivity, and discretion, especially in today's age of inquiries. 20 years ago, maybe, but not today. After he hangs up, he tosses the phone in the nearest trash bin, and heads off (it's still on and eating up minutes).*


(OOC: sorry for making it too hard for you, but that's how it goes with the Canadian government these days... stupid accountability.)

Surprisingly, the phone does not ring immediately. Instead, screams of startled children ahead of him fill the air as three of the globe-like street lights exploded in quick sucession. Most of the people thought it was a power surge, but William knew better. Then the phone began to ring again in the trash can.

*WIlliam grunts, and reaches in for the ringing phone... before answering it, he writes a small note on a pad, and pockets the pad, then answers* "You should be careful, you could kill someone." *He answer, annoyedly, leaving the park* "And none of this cloak and dagger shit, got it?"

" I had hoped it would not come to such a display, but you left me no choice. But let me explain. You , along with some help I am currently obtaining for you, will find and return Mr. Khristopher O'Connell back to the park. I'm sure you are familiar with Mr. OConnell's exploits as an assassin for hire in your past dealings. You have until foru oclock before the explosives I have placed around the park begin to detonate at preset intervals. Are you familiar with how a claymore reacts with the body of a child, Mr. Black?" There is a slight chuckle.


As I've already demonstrated, I am a fairly decent shot as well. So if you try anything foolish, I will not hesitate to empty a few magazines into the hapless people. And if you attempt to contact the authorities, I have a contingency plan for that. And do not attempt to locate me, as my location is also wired. Do you have any questions?"

*Silverfire laughs out loud* "You have to be kidding me. You watch too much Alias, lady. But fine. I'll be a witness at your trial anyways. Where is he?"

" This is no television show I'm afraid. If you require a demonstration to prove it, it could be arranged." The voice offers, before a muffled exchange away from the phone.

"What do you mean, someone else?"
"Thats what I said."
"Bollux................it is too late now."

The voice continued after a slight hesitation. " Finding Mr. O'Connell shouldn't be that difficult. Where else would you find an Irishman on a Saturday afternoon when there is premier league on the tele? When you do find him, he'll co-operate if you tell him a little bird whispered his name to you."

*William laughs again* "So, let me get this straight.... you want me to find a guy drinking. in a sports bar. in Florida. Lady. You're really new at this, aren't you. Let me give you a few tips. First, don't let the other guy know you're hooked up to a bomb. Cause then he'll go after you, just to watch you explode. Second, don't let them know you've just had your plans messed up. And third, just... don't. Now, you really want to impress me, gimme a name for a bar. You know so much about everything, afterall (sounds like he's hitching up his pants, like old men do )."
