"She's right, we're only here for a social call." Jason said. " I'm strictly national now, no more of that crazy international scene. I only want to spend some time meeting Alice's family, convince them I'm not a total screwup and agree where and when to have the ceremony." He looked at Alice as if looking for confirmation.
Graham looked at Alice as well, as if to collaborate.

Alice nods at Jason and Graham, smiling weakly given that she is not thrilled what is going on. "That was the plan, yes." she replies quietly. "This was supposed to be a break to visit with my family."

Graham nodded. " Very well, but I can't take you back just yet or your family will get suspicious, correct?"

Alice shrugs as she replies, "If we get home quickly, wouldn't it show that it really was a case of mistaken identity? The longer Jason is held, the more it might look like he was suspected of something." Alice looks over at Jason to see what he thinks.

"Allright, I'll take you back," the detective said," but stay under the radar. I don't need that nutbag coming into the city after you two. " He waited for traffic to clear before pulling a u-turn," Bad enough we're stuck with him here"
He drove back to the Weatherby home and stopped out front. " If you need anything oe Stresslan shows his face, call me." He offered Alice a card. " Do not try to handle him alone."
Jason smirked and looked at Alice," Would I do something like that?"

Alice takes the card and nods. "Thank you. If anything happens, I'll call you." Looking at Jason, Alice doesn't look amused when she replies in a flat tone of voice, "Yes. You would." Alice says to Graham "Thank you for your help and letting us know what is going on." She then waits for Jason to get out of the car before heading back to the house.

Jason slid out and took Alice's hand as the detective's car pulled away. " I swear, if I had known I would be causing any grief here, I wouldn't have let this happen." He started to pull her close when a voice came from the doorway
" None of that on the street," Alice's father said lowly, his arms folded. " What did you do, bribe the police to release you?" He sounded serious, but Alice knew the slight curl of the corner of his mouth meant he was teasing.
Jason however didn't catch it and was instantly defensive," I did not! He realized I wasn't who they thought I was and released me." He replied with a bit of contempt.

Alice shakes her head at her father and says to Jason, "He's only teasing, Jason." Alice lightly scolds her father as they head into the house, "Be nice. Jason doesn't know yet when you're just teasing."

"Well then he has to learn like everyone else." Evan Weatherby replied as he let the pair in. " So will the detective's body be fished out of the Thames be the top news story in the morning?"
"Evan, stop!" Mom demanded, as she neared Alice and took her hands.
"It was just a case of mistaken identitiy." Jason spouted off. " Some security guard thought I matched the description of this cab bomber guy, but as soon as I showed my passport, he knew it wasn't us."
Jan and Evan seemed to buy the story, but Alexandra fixed her stare on Alice and He's a very good liar, except for the twitch popped in Alice's head

Alice rolls her eyes at her father and smirks, "No, of course not. We weighted down the body properly so it shouldn't surface for quite some time." She smiles at her mother and takes her hand, a little surprised by her grandmother's voice popping into her head. 'He is just nervous, Grams.' Alice replies telepathically 'He was worried you, Mom and Dad wouldn't like him.' A second later, Alice seems to realize what her grandmother had said and asks telepathically, 'Wait.. why do you think he's lying?'

Hogwash. He was too quick with precise answer. Most likely rehearsed it in the car on the way back. alexandra's voice replied as she turned away and started back to the kitchen. " I'll leave you folks to torture the poor boy."
Jan beat Evan to the punch, " so Jason, tell us all about you."
Jason chuckled," alice, you want to go talk to your grandmother? I have a feeling I'lll be here a while."

Alice looks a bit uncertain and smirks at her parents. "Try to remember he's not a prisoner to interrogate, ok?" she teases before hugging Jason and heading into the kitchen. She asks her grandmother, "Would you like some tea?"

Jason whispered during the hug," I'll be fine"
Alexandra nodded at Alice's offer, " Yes my dear, that would be lovely. Now that your parents are distracted, what is your young beau in trouble for?"

Alice smiles at her grandmother as she puts the kettle on and gets out a couple of tea cups and some tea. Blinking in surprise, Alice replies, sitting at the table with her grandmother speaking quietly, "Jason's worked over here before and there are a couple of people who wouldn't be happy to see that he's back. The police detective just wanted to warn Jason about it." Alice gets up and pours the hot water once the kettle starts boiling as she waits for a response.

"Convienient." Alexandra replied. " So either the police were waiting for him or just bad coincidence I wonder? Sounds like my advice for you needs to go for him too. Do what you can to keep your personal life seperate from this life you've chosen, or it will consume you. " She smiled," And try to give your parents some cute grandchildren to fuss over when you come to visit."
