Chapter 61: Where do we start? (Team)

[Dome]

Isamu slumps his shoulders, "I know that Ashley. You know that. I think everyone here knows that."

He points at the display, "she does not seem to understand that. She has already said she is going to do it. She is alone, none of us are there to force her to listen to reason." He shakes his head, "I do not know if she thinks this is a game, or if she thinks that people out there will listen just because she says she is working for the government. I do not even know how to get her to listen to me and get her back here. She has disagreed with almost everything I have said since she has arrived. Maybe some reality will help her understand what we are doing and why."

He pauses and rubs his face with one hand before he looks at the screen. He then looks back at her, "I do not mean that, I just do not know what to do. Let me try and talk to her again."

Taking a deep breath he toggles his comms and says, "December, do you have credentials with you? I mean some form of ID that says you are a government agent? Think about something. If someone approached you and said they were the police or a government agent and were in charge of the situation without producing credentials would you listen to them? No you would not. The police will not listen to you. They will take you into custody. Then you will be turned over to their super powered division, where you will wind up at Gramercy Island or worse. Your other option will be to escape the police where no doubt there will be a police bulletin out on you with a very accurate description since it wont just be some bystanders that were far back and came to watch, but the police officers will by then have dealt with you directly. You are not in a position to make this situation better, nor in a position where you have all the facts.

"No one is going to make you do something you do not want to do, but I ask you to really consider exactly what you are about to do and the consequences for yourself, for you team and even for your family when you are incarcerated and run through the system."

He toggles off his transmitter while waiting to hear her response. He looks at Ashley, "it is now up to her," his face stoic but Ashley can tell by his voice that he is deeply troubled by the situation.

He looks at Kristian, Avery and Ryne, "I understand that differences arise, however we are supposed to be a team. With all of us operating independently, deciding things on our own, claiming ownership over a patient or whatever else simply divides us. At this rate we will fall apart and Wraith, the mayor and others like them will easily sweep us aside. Avery, Janie is primarily your patient, however she is a friend to all of us."

He turns away from them then turns back, "if those of us that have been here the longest cannot work as a team, how can we expect new ones such as December to think about the best interests of the many over their own. If we cannot all learn to work together and quickly, perhaps we should simply disband," he says obviously exasperated. He then adds, "will one of you find Dylin and ask him to come to the war room, please. I need to speak with him," he says as he again walks away into the war room, by this point unaware that Arc has arrived in the building. (Player note: I am so lost as to where everyone is)

Having been told that those people were guilty she sees that she has done nothing wrong at all. But also understands that there is little info she can grant to prove her side of the government enforcement. "No I do not have any credentials on me. But I did not think I would need them for a simple move job which is my fault. But I have to ask you. You know what screw it, you are saying I am to act like something no better then criminals then perhaps things should be planned better." Anyone on the other side will be able to tell she is flustered and upset.

"Fine I will be like a criminal and run away!" I can't believe they are doing this. She thinks as she jumps up in the air and starts flying away from the scene. "So let me get this straight. We do not have the conviction to stand up for what is right and lawful. We are showing the people we are no better then vigilantes. Is that what I am getting from this." She pauses to take a moment not wanting to belittle Isamu in front of the group with her next comment which she thinks. Perhaps if we had better leadership this would not be a problem and people would have thought ahead.

Deci is flying straight up and heads....east (as determined randomly) until she gets a response from those on the other end.

[Dome]

Isamu listens and shakes his head. For a brief moment he flashes back on what his beliefs were when he first met Ashley and William. It seems like so long ago now, but in reality not that much time has passed since, he held to the same thoughts that Deci did. 'It is truly sad that it took so little time to let go of my beliefs about the world and come to believe how I do now. At times I wish I still held the naivete that I did back then. The naivete that December still does. Ignorance is bliss. Believing the world only existed in black and white, good and evil seems like such a far concept from the reality. There really is more gray than anyone realizes and unfortunately, to make a difference we have to live in that gray world.'

He looks at Ashley, his face ashen, she could tell he is visibly upset. "I do not know what to tell her. It was not long ago that I believed as she did. I know the truth now, but it does not make accepting it any easier."

He puts his head down with his hands on his head. He thought for a moment, He walks over to one of the computers and puts himself on a private channel with Deci. He then tapps his comms lowering his voice so only someone next to him and Deci on the radio can hear him. "I am sorry December. I understand more than you can know how difficult this is to accept. I wish I could tell you that everything is black and white and that everything fits into a specific place, however that would not be the truth. Reality seems to be much grayer than that and much more difficult to accept. I can tell you that I do not believe you are running away. You are avoiding an unnecessary conflict. You are avoiding putting innocent people, and those innocent police officers in the middle of our fight against corruption. It may not be ideal, but for now, it is the only way. I am truly sorry for that. I do wish there was a better way. You cannot begin to know how difficult it is for me to tell you that. It really was not long ago I believed as you do now."

After hearing all this Deci only replies, "I...I...I...am sorry. I have to go think!" Anyone on the other side (still broadcasting to all) can hear how emotional she is right now. This followed by her turning off the Bandadio, freezing it solid and throwing it as far away from her as she can while the tears fall from her face. She then heads the opposite way heading towards a beach where it will be quiet. She lands on the beach making sure that there is no one around right now and just sits down and cries.

"Calling all cars, this is Main Dispatch, We have sighting of fugitive metacriminal Ragnarok in vicinity of Bicentennial Park. All Units respond. SWAT is enroute. ETA 25 minutes." Tom puts on his best show

[dakota]

Robert, from where you sit in the car, you can see Deci bolt. You can also see that the two men in the car are in the process of trying to get out. Screams erupt and the gathered crowd scatters as a gunshot erupts from the car.


December finds a secluded beach where no one will disturb her.


Ashley put an arm around Isamu in support, and spoke softly. " It's not easy, living in a grey area like we do. Thats why we have to work together because we know the greater good," she smiled," or at least better than the alternatives. I hope Alice and Jason are having as much fun as we are." She gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Ryne nodded," I know where he is." He started away, pointing at Avi," You heard ISamu. Smarten up or you'll go for a swim."

Avi's stern look cracked a slight smile as he watched the big man leave. He looked at Isamu, " I'll work things out with Kristian. Ryne means what he said. He once threw me in the water, from the upper patio." The shoreline was close to 80 yards away.


Tom's call got a sudden rash of unit responding calls and Beth smiled as it was working when a familiar voice came over the police band. "Dispatch, copy MetaControl division, " Wraith replied," give me that address again? We'll check out the first call on route."

Sierra hangs up the phone and smiles at Arc. 'so . . nice to see you again. did you want to talk here or . . lets go to one of the empty rooms. that was a first for me. seeing someone pop out of a phone. didn't know tht could happen, not gonna argue, cause i saw it with my eyes. you hungry at all? we still have breakfast in the Kitchen'

*she tries to be the good hostess and motions to the kitchen where the smells of food still emerge from. 'you .. can you go get Isamu please?' *pointing her finger at Avi* 'can you inform him our guest has arrived and his input would be nice, as would anyone else's questions. thank you'

December after crying for a little bit and seeing this beach is completely secluded she decides maybe a swim is in order. She stands up and looks around one more time to make sure the beach is clear and then checks to make sure she has nothing like a wallet or anything on her before stripping down all her clothes and jumping in the water for a nice dip.

Swimming - [dice=100]/75% (Pass - not that it matters. Not like she can drown, lol)

Ahh now this is what I need. She thinks as she continues to swim.

Tom winces. Great, just great. "Please hold MetaControl. Dispatch will directly download co-ordinates to GPS." Tom mouths the words "I'm sorry." to Beth. "Please give us an ETA as soon as the address is delivered."

[Dome]

Isamu says, "I do not know how to feel about this Ashley. I am not sure if I should want December to accept it, as I have, and return to us. Or to hope that she refuses to and decides on her own path. After all this time I do not know how to hold to those ideals and still do this job. Perhaps we have seen too much. Or perhaps we all need to try and see things through her eyes and strive to act accordingly. Whatever she decides though, we will be here as the work must continue."

He stands and looks at Ashley and then asks, "do you know if Sierra has arranged a meeting with her contact yet?"

[dakota]

Beth scowled, looking at the computer. Then a bit of a grin began to curl at the corners of her mouth. Opening another window, she began to do something Tom wasn't quite following until a new window titled GPS came up. She tapped in the co-ordinates on the other monitor, motioning that the other blip was now moving. she gave Tom a thumbs up as she hit enter.

Wraith's voice came across the police channel," GPS received. Enroute."


Arc shrugged, " Phones use low level current to work. Easy for electricity to follow. I already ate thanks." His eyes narrowed as he looked passed Sierra," You got a problem, boy?"

Avi replied, he jaw clenched and his fist energized. " Sierra, Kristian step away from the terrorist."

Kristian looked at one man, then the other," Arc is a terrorist?"

"His name isn't Arc." Avi said, then shouted, " Isamu, you better get out here!"

Ryne and MacColter arrived, and Mac went slack jawed, " And here we thought the Electrocutioner had finally been caught and killed by the Santucci family. The rumors were obviously false."

Arc looked at Sierra," I was retired. Paid my debts and disappeared until Wraith found me and blackmailed me to help him. I'm done with all this foolishness and just want to live quietly with my family."

Mac looked intrigued," Well, Sierra, you invited our guest, so you and Isamu can take the lead on this. Avery, Ryne, stand down and see to our friends downstairs. their transportation will be arriving shortly."



Ashley looked at Isamu and motioned for them to go see what the commotion was about. "That bellow didn't sound good."



As Deci swims, she notices someone on the beach. Someone standing over her belongs, toeing through them

Deci sees her stuff being toed through does not think to the fct that she is currently wearing no clothes at all and using her flight power in the water to rush forward. Once close enough to the beach she stands up and yells "Hey! That is my stuff there." She points to the items on the ground. It is at this point she realizes she is completely naked and covers her self as best she can with her arms and realizing she is probably not doing the best of jobs either. But still she waits to see the person respond.

Tom returns the smile. "Good hunting Metacontrol. Dispatch out."

[Dome]

Isamu rises and moves quickly to the main room. He stops in the door and tries to appraise the situation there. He looks at the new individual and says. "You must be Arc."

He looks at Dylin and then the others. "Is there a problem I should know about here?

When Dylin sends Avi and Ryne out, Isamu waits until they leave the room. He looks at Arc, "it seems you have a past the others are not happy about. I do not have the same preconceptions, but I must ask how can we trust you now? How can I get them," he says pointing in the direction Avi and Ryne went, "to trust you?"

'it doesn't matter what he did. I trust him. he's been truthful this long and i don't think that he'll do anything wrong now'

*that is stated calmly to the others before motioning Arc to take a seat. 'please . . . sit down and don't let them worry about you about this meeting. someone has to show trust somewhere, so i'm hoping you can help us turn the tables on Wraith. there's bad blood between him and us.

'then i'll see what i can do about getting you 'lost' to being pulled into trouble once again . . .
