On the Bridge
Bread Nebula's roll to Strike: [dice=20]
Foreman's piloting the maze of loaves had lead him to a wrong turn... the ship was due to collide with a small cluster of them! And right in the Galley of all places. However, instead of turning the gap in the twin bows into a plowful of doughy clusterbombs, he managed a dodge that rorated the ship with one of the engines as the axis.
Unfrotunately, it wasn't enough to completely avoid a collision, as there was a set of repeated thumps along the port bow remiscent of a hit from a flak gun.
Tawfeek visibly cringed at the impact.
The impact alarms had started to really make a nuissance until Tawfeek turned them off. He was clearly reading what information the ship was giving about the impact. "We have an outer-hull breach on the Port bow, Deck 2." He said. "That area is currently sealed off. Looks like we might have lost two bedrooms. And the Port Ramjet's got gunk."
OOC: It is important to remember that ships commonly have three hulls: the The Outer Hull, the Inner Hull and the Water Hull. The first 2 are basically armour plating. The third is a honeycomb of watertanks that fill the shell of the ship, between the inner and outer hulls. Over time, the tanks have been found to serve a number of purposes: a) to store water for various uses on the ship, b) to protect against radiation, c)to soften the impacts and provide an extra layer between the 2 hulls (see physics with impacts into water and solidity or whatever) and d) an indication of where the hull has been breached (where tanks face explosive decompression).
The captain glanced at the pilot. His look was inscrutable. "Stephens!" He suddenly said on the coms. "Tell me no-one's dead, and you get a shiney coin."
To Foreman, he says, calmly, "Veer left, the field's edge is closer there. We can resume a course and check damage after that." He said, calmly.
In the Medical Bay Everyone felt the lurch of the attempted dodge, as the door to the medical bay sealed itself shut. And then the series of sickeningly wrenching impacts.
The ship's collision alarms sounded for a second before they could hear Tawfeek's voice on the comms. "Stephens! Tell me no-one's dead, and you get a shiney coin."
In Engineering Warning lights! Warning lights! Hull breach on Floor 2, Port side! Port Ramjet's reporting Foreign Object Damage!

Flip tries to make the course correction, gritting his teeth as he turns he tries to maintain control of the giant flying tub. The Captain may ream him out later, hell this might be his last flight on this ship but for now he was still the pilot. Ignoring everything but flying the ship he relies on the captain to give him accurate information as he pushes the ship towards the edge of the field. Still trying to dodge the closing debris.

For the first time, Jessica looks uncertain about what McKenna was asking her to do, looking as if she was afraid she was going to screw it up and accidentally hurt Mr. Johnson even more than he already is. "Ok." she says quietly, sounding nervous.
When Tawfeek comes on over the comms, she quickly responds, not looking pleased by the jostling of the ship, "No one is dead." She can't help but think 'However with the way Foreman is piloting, the situation may change.' Heading back to where the patient is, Jessica then takes a deep breath and tries to do as McKenna instructed.

Engineering:
"Bridge, we have a foreign object breaching deck 2, port side. determining damage now..." Mengsk looked over the breaches effects While Sealing off what he could to prevent decompression. "Sealing breach, now..."

"What the hell are they doing?" McKenna said as she watched Jessica. " Relax, nice and easy," she instructed, switching to a bedside manner tone," don't force it." She held the incision open with her fingers until she had a clamp in place, then helped Jess by guiding her hand to line up the drain tube. "Some day you make have to do this without me here to guide you."

In the Medical Bay
After that hit, things seemed to go quieter and smoother.
And Jessica, as it turns out, didn't need help, as, the blood soon started flowing out of Mr. Johnson as planned.
"Oh my God... he's bleeding?" Mrs. Johnson asked in a worried, hushed tone. She was starting to look very shell-shocked "Can you stop it?" She had a point... also, did McKenna get blood when they were at Laika?
In Engineering In order to make sense of the variety of warning lights, ought Mensk roll relevant skills to know exactly what's going on?
"Yes, we're aware." Tawfeek said back over the comm. "I see no atmosphere leaking. But I want as full a report as you can give."
(OOC: Before players start panicking, it was just an outer hull breach. Also, to point out, the ship sealed itself up, so all the interior doors are closed, so the atmosphere wouldn't have been isntantly sucked out anyways. However, characters might not know all this, and the best way they can find out is to apply relevant skills.)
On the Bridge
Foreman will never hear it from Tawfeek directly, but the captain was happy he had hired the pilot, since the ship hadn't exploded. "I think I want to retire early." He said. "To a farm. Tended by many voluptuous women."
Foreman's piloting got the ship out of the nebulous cloud of doughy doom (I think that's all the bread-related lines I've got) without further incident.
"Alright. No loafing around." Tawfeek said hopping over to the Nav Table. (OK, I had one more). "Now, let's get this ship where it's going."

Jess looks alarmed at the prospect at having to do something like this by herself and tells McKenna "I sincerely hope that i never have to do this." she tells her. Breathing a sigh of relief, Jessica is glad to see she didn't screw up the procedure and kill Mr. Johnson by accident. When Mrs. Johnson asks her question, she glances over at McKenna wondering how she was going to answer that question.

Foreman sighs and relaxes back in his seat after the ship is safe. He brings the ship to a stop once outside the debris field, and then lets go of the controls wiping the sweat from his face with one sleeve of his flight suit.
"Sorry Captain. It caught me by surprise and then it was too late. If you want to replace me when we hit Mars, I understand," he says dejectedly. "Can't believe I screwed up like that," he then says under his breath.

"It's okay Mrs. Johnson, we have to drain where he's bled internally from the ship bouncing around. It will stop soon." McKenna said, then turn to Jessica," Nice work. I hope you don't have to either, but it's better to do it with me here the first time. Next time I might not be around."
{You never really said what she got for supplies, so GM's call}

On the Bridge
"Will you understand if it's because you stopping the ship when we have to keep going?" Tawfeek asked. It should be noted that, at the speed they were going, stopping was expected to take another day, unless Foreman speeds up the process. "Just make the course adjustments and get us back on track."
Tawfeel proceeded to open all the doors and turn off the warning lights, except where the ship had been hit.
In the Medical Bay
The door opened, and the warning lights turned off. Everything must be back under control on the ship.
About as soon as it started, the draining ended about as soon as it started.
As for supplies, we'll assume that she has a basic supply for the crew, but it's luck of the draw if that is good enough for Mr. Johnson.
In Engineering
Mensk got the computer to give all the information, but, at the moment, he has no idea exactly what it means.
New skill roles!

[dice=100] MD diagnose
McKenna looked at the amount of blood in the drain kit as she used some suture tape to hold the tube in place. " He's lost some blood, but I don't think he'll need any yet. I'll have to monitor him closely until we get to Mars where they can do alot more than I can aboard ship." [rand=85102353926474655089492683852375814569492669236448554762092613213]

Jessica sighs in relief as the warning lights turn off and the doors open. Better yet, it doesn't seem like Mr. Johnson lost too much blood. Nodding at McKenna, Jess says "Let me know if i can be of further assistance."
