"Send me the exact location, I'm on my way." Peter puts the card down, whips the covers off and heads for the drawer with his Spider-Man costume in it. While getting dressed, he looks at MJ and says "Duty calls, honey. I'm so sorry. I'll try to make it home before too long." Webshooters in place, communicard in his utility belt and costume on he opens the window and pulls his mask on. "I love you MJ." He leaps out of the window and begins swinging toward Harlem, awaiting further direction.

Your communicard has a mini-GPS mapping system that shows you the location. MJ flops down on the bed, but manages a half smile as you get to the window and waves. "Go get'em Tiger." With the navigational assist, you quickly find yourself in Harlem, and can easily make out the scene of the crime as a tower of smoke and the blare of sirens. That's when you feel a rush of air on your right side. "So, you really are an Avenger now?" Falcon's voice is scathing and critical. You've never gotten along with him in the past; in a way he's much more serious than even Captain America, but you understand it's because he's always taken streetcrime as a deeply personal and complex social issue - witty banter is wasted on him. You come up on the scene, and a quartet of five story buildings are ablaze, the small number of fire and emergency response personnel just barely enough to keep the fire from consuming the entire city block. "I'll take the West side, you take the East; work from the top down and keep an eye out for the Boy Scout; he'll be right in the heart of that if I know him. Stay in touch on your communicard at all times." He divebombs towards the westernmost building.

Spider-Man thinks of a million different things to say to the Falcon, but in his experience he knows that the guy is too serious to laugh at a comedy show. So his only response to Falcon is "Yes sir!" as he swings to the top of the East side of the four buildings. He opens one of the windows and looks around for trapped civilians.

Spider-Man climbs in the window slowly. "Spider Delivery Service, did you order one large rescue with a side of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Guy?" He'll gently lift the older man and help him out of the window and swing him to the ground.

You gently bring him to the ground, as he's still coughing, but before you can go back up, he tries to grab you.
"There's...Jadia and her mom - I could hear her down the hall from me. Please, fer the luv of god - save them."

Spider-Man throws two weblines just below the floor that he pulled the man from. He pulls them both taut and uses their natural springiness to fling himself in a twisting somersault into the side of the building where he sticks. He climbs back in the same window, heads for the front door of the apartment and listens in the hallway for the sounds of any other survivors. If he hears nothing, he'll start opening every door in the hopes of finding someone. Regardless, he spins a little bit of web into a crude oven mitt so that the doorknobs don't burn through his gloves.

Spider-Man hears a CRASH! from down the hall. Rushing to it he sees a familiar red, white and blue garbed figure. A small girl in his arms is holding the mask for the breather unit on his back, while a woman is carried on his right shoulder.
"Get the child out of here!" He calls over the roar of the fire.

Spider-Man grabs the small girl and heads back out the same window he came in. He swings her down to the ground and checks her breathing.

Jadia, a girl of barely nine years, coughs. The firefighters give you a thumbs up as you race back to the building.
The inferno hits you like a wall - your costume instantly drenched with sweat as you look for Cap. You find him and the woman, and he hands her off to you. "GO!"
The body in your arms is limp and lifeless. You know full well she's past saving.

Spider-Man swings her down to the paramedics and silently hangs his head. Feeling as though he can't catch a breath, he lifts his mask above his nose and mouth to take in a deep breath before pulling out his communicard. "How many more Cap? Falcon?"

Cap answers. "On the South East Ledge. Need a pick up quick."
Spider-Man races to the scene to find Cap, along with three other people - a couple barely out of their teens and an elderly women desperately hanging onto a ledge. Spider-Man sees the entire ledge give way, as Falcon swoops in.
"Better move fast."

Spider-Man springs into action at the sight of his comrade falling from a ledge along with several citizens. He starts by tossing a webline to the top of the building that passes right by Cap so he has something to hold on to/slide down on his way down. Next he starts creating a large web for the teens to fall into. Lastly, he runs up the side of the building to leap and catch the elderly woman, time permitting. If not, he will make the net wide enough to catch everyone.

Spider-Man manages to catch the teens and Cap, but it's the Falcon who manages to save the old woman.
Captain America helps the young couple out of the net as the Falcon lands, helping the old lady right herself. His attention focuses in on the ambulance where Spider-Man had brought Jadia's mom, as you see the EMT's zipping up the body bag. Cap's head falls as Falcon puts his hand on the super-soldier's shoulder.
"Nothing you could have done, Cap. It's-"
Cap gives Falcon a slow nod. "I'm going to go talk to the girl. She shouldn't be alone right now. You'll-?"
"-I'll see to it. We'll find family, something."
"Good." He marches off with heavy footsteps, looking for the young girl.
The Falcon exhales slowly but loudly, then looks at you. "Nice work. Cap was telling me you're with the team now. The Avenger thing never stuck with me, but more power to you." He looks at Cap as he talks with a sobbing Jadia.
"Let me tell you something about Cap that you probably don't know - he takes everything personally. Every failure, every injury, every insult hurled at someone else. He can take anyone mocking or punching at him, but you go after someone else? To him, you're trying to take away their American Dream, and he'll come down on you like the wrath of God. Start feeling very sorry for the Sons of the Serpent."

Spider-Man can't take his eyes of of Cap as he heads over to the small girl. "Do you know if he's dating anyone?" He waits a moment and adds in "Not for me. For my wife."
