Issue 10: Tokyo Calling

DD throws his billy club at the one of the ninja's head, sending it on a collision course that would hit it and the ninja on its right, before ricocheting off the ground to come back to him. As soon as he released it, he then steps into the attack of the ninja nearest him raising the other half of his club to block any incoming weapons strike. As the weapons clash he reaches out with his free hand to catch the returning billy club.

Tabitha followed Hawkeye through the portal. Going intangible, she activated the screamer arrow and then stuck her arm deep into Godzilla's ear and let go. Then as the monster began to react, she lost her footing and fell from it's shoulder. " Guess we should have considered an exit plan." She saw Hawkeye below, but was gaining on him because of her metallic form's weight. Taking a deep breath, she shouted "AURA!"

Knowing his regeneration, and bones, can take it, Wolverine wades into the attacks, claws free as he leaps into the nearest group after a short run, a basic version of the fastball special, claws aimed at two of the Hand ninjas, his body aimed to take the middle one down.

Tabitha can swear she's hearing Hawkeye whistling as you see an arrow fly past you trailing a long bit of line. "Go flesh. I got you."

Tally and Blink can see both monsters clutching their ears as they stumble into Blink's portals.

(DD, Gambit, and Wolverine)

The ninja blades slice into Logan's flesh as he guts the ninja on each side with a claw strike, and breaks the ribcage of the one in teh center. There is now a clear path for Logan to the Shinto temple, the very heart of the Yoshida castle.

The Man without Fear's strikes home, stunning the ninjas but not taking them out of the fight, They lift their blades clumsily to strike, but are stopped when a sai penetrates the throat of each. Elektra is right behind you, her voice a whisper.

With a path cleared, Wolverine bolts for the shrine, planting a foot straight down on the face of the ninja with broken ribs, intent on putting a stop to this, one way or another.

Tabitha misses the rope, but Hawkeye manages to grab you by the waist and pull you to him. "Hey, maybe you X-Men types can fly by the seat of your pants, but the Avengers are a professional operation here." with your added mass and the strength of the cord, you swing low and slow. The monsters fall into separate portals, but before you can get tossed in, Hawkeye lets go of the cord, and the two of you have to fall a less than lethal 10 feet to the ground.

(DD, Wolverine, Gambit)

Wolverine rushes into the Shrine, the only lighting are the traditional candles. Immediately your mind drifts back to your final battle with Shigen, Mariko's father, in this very building. A thought that twists in your stomach when you catch that scent that you feared you never would again - jasmine and chery blossoms, like on a summer's day. Her voice cuts straight to your heart.

"My love?"

DD continues attacking the ninja's as Wolverine breaks for the temple. He drives one club straight into the chest of one of the ninja's and then brings the other up to smash him on the side of his face. Hooking him with the club and throwing the ninja at another.

Still not used to her hero name Aura feels like an idiot not hearing Tabitha's call for help. She does however take a moment to scan the area.

Daredevil incapicates his opponents as Elektra cuts down a pair of ninjas with their own blades. "You're holding back still. A mistake, my love."

Wolverine, there's no doubt about it - the scent matches as that porcelain form strides forward, confident and graceful in her kimono and robes. Mariko Yoshida, alive again.

Hawkeye executes a flying somersault before landing. "What can I say? I love this job." He grins boyishly. "Now, let's hope our buddies at the castle can disarm these creatures before they get back."

Tally comes in for a landing right beside anyone else there. She remains hovering as to makes sure in case she has to move out should the need arise.

"I'm glad you mellow with age." Tabitha sputtered under her breath at Hawkeye.

Wolverine's eyes narrow, not out of surprise, but at the brutish thought that The Hand defiled the remains of his former lover and deceased fiancee. "Yeah...it's me Mariko. I've come to ask a favor of ya."
