"Non. You fear something more dangerous. You fear something only our Daredevil can inflict on you." He leaned closer. "Or you would not fear him at all, either." Gambit smirked, but not threatening. More like he understood, but was being courteous enough not to embarass her for it.... At the moment.

"And your war would certainly take care of Daredevil for you." He tried to meet her eyes. "But, I don't know if you really want one less thing to fear."

Blink was sitting looking at the scenery. Her job at the moment was to listen and learn. She also had her mind elsewhere..on her mentor, and Morph. Better to leave DD to the negotiations.

Elektra's smile doesn't break, but her eyes harden. "Fools. You think we were hear to meet you? That was just a bonus. Tony Stark hid our weapon right here..."

The ground begins to rumble.

"This is sooo not good." Songbird says.

[Dome]

DD pulls Elektra around to face him. "Elektra don't do this. Please," his voice pleading. Although his face hidden behind the mask for the benefit of the others his soul laid bare in the tone of his voice.

"Elektra, do I mean that little to you that you would have me die to further the Hand's goals? Because that is what is going to happen here, because I will fight this to the death. Please don't let it come to this. Help me end this."

He pauses and then whispers to her in Japanese, "I love you Elektra, I always will."

"why do I get the feeling we should be running for our lives?" Tabitha said as she felt the rumble. She transformed into her metallic form and looked at Sunfire," Hey Hot Stuff, this is your country, what could they possibly have in the ground here that could fight a dragon? Wait," she looked at Elektra," Tony Stark put it here? Why would Mr. Stark hide weapons for a bunch dressed in their pajamas that are cowards and run away when they get caught in a fight?"

"The Mutant Resistance had its own sources on my world. Eitherway thats a debate for later. I suggest we get to a safe spot and let Sunfire and Elektra explain." she looked for a safe spot and half expected a shape-shifted Morph to be yelling 'Godzilla!!'

"It is too late, Matthew." she whispers back, a rare look of sadness on her face.

The ground heaves as something begins to rise out of the cracks.

"No! They told me it was impossible! They buried him two miles deep!" Sunfire exclaims.

Hawkeye grabs the fiery mutant. "Buddy, you better start talking now."

"We...my government, they buried a monster here three decades ago. It was never meant to be discovered, but they felt it would be improper to sell the land to a Japanese company -"

"-so they sold it to Stark? And he didn't know?"

"No one knew! That's what a secret is!"

"The Hand knew." Elektra interrupted. "Which is why we restored him, and brought him back."


The Stark plant is demolished, as the creature arises.




Hawkeye looks at Sunfire. "Assuming there's anything left of your government when this is over, they better be writing Tony Stark one hell of a check. And an apology."

Songbird looks at Blink. "Well, you don't see this every day."

"Wow!!!" Is all Tally says as her mouth hangs open and sees perhaps the largest living thing she has ever been witnessed to.

Tabitha couldn't help but sound nervous," Hawkeye, this is where we cut our losses and go home, right? I mean the dinosaur and the dragon will destroy each other, right? They won't need us to clean up the mess, so we can beat it." She looked at the others for agreement. Her eyes settled on Logan last, and she slumped her her shoulders," Okay, so what do we do?"

Gambit watches the dinosaur rise. Then turns back to Elektra. "How was clan Yashida needed for this, again?"

Elektra, now with her hand against DD's chest. "THe government entrusted the device used to lure Godzilla to his defeat with the head of the clan - Shigen, and then his daughter Mariko. Only she knows how to control the monster."

Hawkeye slaps his hands together. "OK, in that case I've got a plan. Wolverine, Gambit and Ol'Hornhead can take lil' miss Ninja to the Clan's place and find the doohickey and bring it back here, while the rest of us." He casts a glance at Sunfire. "Hold this thing off. Songbird will take them where they need to go in the Quinjet."

Songbird raises an eyebrow at her teammate "And how do you propose to do that? You actually have a plan for this sort of thing?"

Hawkeye's grin stretches from ear to ear as he knocks an arrow from his quiver. "Birdie, how many times do I have to tell you? We're the Avengers - we have a plan for everything."

"Depends, Tabby. If they fight it out in the city, it won't be pretty. If The Hand's using her to control Gojira, no telling what they can do with it."
Wolverine nods to Hawkeye. "Alright bird-boy, we can do that. Bub, you'll owe me for missing out on this once in a life time brawl."

Tabitha's mood lightened a bit with Wolverine calling her by her nickname. she looked at Hawkeye," At first I thought Captain America was crazy to leave you in charge, but now it makes sense. I thought he was your friend though," she smirked. " how do we do this?"

Songbird flies you in the Quinjet over the ancient fortress that serves as headquarters to Clan Yashida - one of the oldest families in Japan, with a history and prestige second to none. And it is even less of a surprise when hordes of arrows arc towards the plane, most of them deflecting off the hull.

"Well, it looks like we get the same welcome everywhere we go in Japan. I'll just drop you guys off here and get the plane back to Hawkeye - he's probably going to need it more than you. I've given you all blank communicards so you can notify us when you have the device. Good hunting."

(The others)

"Well, first we get Big Scaly's attention with this here screecher arrow - observe." as he fires a long arc shot towards the creature, you can barely here a high pitched noise. Godzilla, however, reacts by shaking his head.

"And now, with our guide Sunfire, who will fly above us being all nice and shiny like a firefly, will lead the creature away from large population centers."

"This is your idea of a plan?" Shiro utters a string of phrases in Japanese, but the meaning of it all is quite clear. "Very well." He takes to the air, glowing brightly.

"At least it's arrows and not gunfire." Snorts Wolverine, hopping out of the quinjet.
