"That is OK. Sit back and relax, and I will tend to it!" Autumn says as she gets a shot of morphine to dull the pain. "This is going to sting a bit but will take away the pain while I work on the arm."
If he lets her she will give him the shot and continue working on the arm.

Sam keeps an eye out for any signs of trouble as she listens to the kids talking to Tori, figuring it could be valuable intel for them, especially if they knew the area.

"Hey, y'all seen a buncha strange men round here? Ya know, like prisoners? We're lookin' for some of our buddies who got lost. We wanna bring em home."
Jan took a dip of nip and sighed contentedly. "Honestly? I wanna know 'bout the huntin. How big's the biggest rack you seen down here?"
She spat over the side of the boat and licked her nose, just like a housecat. "And who them mutants? They cats and dogs like us?"

" Stranger than you folks? Nope." Nala replied. "Biggest rack of what? No, not really like you, look more like mice or rats. Really mean so we stay clear." She turned to Tori. "Elders keep lasers in village in case of predators. We don't have many. You could call it a tribe. Our village is not far."
the boy flinched as Autumn injected the teen, but within moments he was under the affects of the drug.
As they continued on, Richardson caught Shep motioning from the other boat back the way they had come. something alot bigger than the gulls had discovered the spider corpse. The giant Leatherwing circled twice before the dinosaur bird swooped in and sent the flock of gulls into the air.
With a triumphant warcry, the second air boat came to life and soon pulled alongside the lead boat. The fan's could even be heard over Shep's helmet comm," Some of us should travel on each boat so the weight is distributed."

"Leatherwing to our rear, vulturing that spider." She called out on watch. Probably everyone else saw it, but she wanted to be sure. Hopefully, that spider would keep the rest of the hungry swamp denizens busy for a while.
"Naw, a rack, you know, on a deer. Antlers. Back in Lone Star, a nice rack with lotsa points is quite a trophy. Now on the other hand, I foxin' hate rats. Maybe we can show y'all what cats do to rats and why our kind got domesticated thousands of years ago. And yer right, it don't get no stranger than us."
Janxi looked back again to see the boat's fan roar to life. She worried the gas tank would be full of water. The air boats had to be tough. She kept one eye on the leatherwing.
"Where you want us, Capt. Sam?"

Tori noted Janxi's observation, and scanned the sky for more dangers.
"I'm glad y'all got a lil' firepower out here. Looks like it comes in handy now 'n then. 'Specially with rats runnin' round." Like most cats, rodents were a natural enemy. In Lone Star, she had a few close encounters against the filthy creatures, and while she loved hunting them, she hated the beings on sheer principle. As much as she believed in rights for animals, she felt no hypocrisy about her desire to hunt down and terminate every last rat the sick Dr. Bradford created and allowed to spawn.
"Hey Shan?" she shouted. "Outstanding work on the motor! Hooya!" She liked all four of the cubs, and wished they were in the CSN. They would make a natural riverboat team.
"Where y'all want me?" Tori cradled her rifle and scanned the skies again, before searching the water and then the banks. The fan noise ruined her hearing and made her cringe a bit, but she still looked out for trouble.

Socrates, while doing his own scanning, opened his helmet, keeping it on, though, so that he can smell the place, and get used to it.
In terms of boat, he'll take the boat that doesn't have the cats so as the keep the animal senses even across the boats - possibly the lead boat, if there is one.

Richardson elects to climb on board the boat that was just repaired. When It pulls up along side, he jumps across with a short hop seemingly at ease moving from one moving craft to another. He then silently takes up position on the side opposite Shep.

Quasi GM duty.... So that we're clear on who's where...
On boat 1: Tori, Janxi, Santiago, Broken arm boy, BAB's GF, On Boat 2: Oher kids, Sam, Shep, Socrates, maybe Richardson (Assuming Boat 2 was the repaired one, since BAB's GF was piloting the working one).
Back to playing...
Socrate looked over at Tori and Janxi, wondering if they had gone on about the mission yet again.
"Sam." He said, calmly. "You may not want to answer this, but what are our odds for success?"

After the team has been evenly distributed onto both of the boats, Sam looks over at Socrates and admits quietly, "I don't know. It depends on how heavily armed the group is that has the quad hostage." Sam hated putting odds on this mission, given how much it meant for her to succeed, but she wasn't naive enough to assume it would be a simple mission. If it was, they never would have been sent out in the first place.

The good doctor continues to work on the person under her charge. Taking care of anything he needs until she knows she has actual time to work on him properly. She will make sure though to the best of her abilities that he does not need any immediate surgery.

Despite the somewhat rough ride, the teen didn't fight Autumn's efforts and she found it was a fairly simple task.
With the second boat working, the trip back to the village turned into more of a drag race across the flooded swamplands. As the village started to come into view, Soc and the cats could feel that the old man had been wrong. Not only was their magic present in the village, but there were also psychics present as well. A single man eminating both stood at the end of a dock with several other boats tied up to it, his arms folded as he watched the slowing approach.
As the boats docked and the motors were shut off, the stern looking man glared directly at the girl. "You are late, and you bring strangers. Your father will not be pleased. He waits for you and your friends. The rest of you will come with me."

Even before the team arrived at the dock, Socrates had the look of a hound that had found a Quail. "Be on your guard, here." He said calmly over the comm so the whole team heard it. "We're in a hornets' nest."

Tori reached into her pocket slowly, bypassing the catnip for once, and going for her candy stash. As cats couldn't taste sweet, most candies meant little to her. On the other hand, she had a love for the sharp taste and herbalness of black licorice. It reminded her a bit of catnip. She was nervous to see and feel so much magic about her, but had a genuine fondness for the cubs.
"Y'all want some lick-rish?" She said as the children disembarked their boats. If any said yes, she would share a piece. She slowly chewed a piece herself, and kept her eye on the mage and nodded to confirm Socrates' admonishment.
Her ears flattened slightly against her boonie with the orders of the man. She cradled her rifle, but made no sudden movements, and kept it pointed to the ground. At that moment, she felt as any cat would in a room full of rocking chairs. Magic made her nervous, but her danger sense had yet to warn her of an impending attack. She hoped the reputation of the CS had not preceded them into the swamp. The warm reception she anticipated for saving the cubs could get chilly in a hurry. Her tail hung behind her hooking out slowly, a defensive posture. She kept her mouth shut, leaving the formalities to Sam and Shep. Her eyes remained open as she looked for hiding places, potential hazards, and did her best to assess the military capabilities of the village.

Janxi held her rifle and stood to full height as she stepped off the boat beside Tori. She had her rifle ready, though pointed at the ground. If these guys tried to hocus her, she would make them hurt for it.
