Iron Beach wasn't good enough. Not much of a beach anyways. Century Park was better. Greener, quieter, better clas of homeless. Really a good transition point while Howl got used to the city.
And what a city it was. Just a week ago, the sky lit up with an explosion from one of the huge arcologies. It's been a kicked-up ants' nest since then.
Century Park, though, was a lot quieter...
A police patrol on a bicycle pulled up. "Excuse me sir." Said one.

Howl had spent most of the morning racing around Century Park, figuring out where things were located when he wasn't stopping minor crimes. His point of reference and personal guide was 'The Statue'. He would race back to it in order to get directions to the next point of interest. Turning his head slightly, he looked up from his current position of lying on the ground in front of Six Springs Fountain to the police officer getting his attention. "Yeah?"

"We've seen you living around here for the last few days, haven't we?" The officer asked. He clearly wasn't unnerved by Howl's appearance. Considering the kinds of mutants that live on the streets here, that wasn't a suprise. At least these two CSPD officers had read the hand book on how to get the public to do what they want without strong-arm tactics - by being nicer, as it were. "Do you have a place to live?"

Getting up quickly, Howl stands and faces the officers. "No, not really. I kinda got dumped here to see how much of a 'difference' I could make." He looks to either side of him as if checking for any eavesdroppers. He puts his hands next to his mouth and in a hoarse whisper says "To tell you the truth, this place seems a little bit...hopeless."

"Well, that's why we're here." The officers say. "We want to encourage you to find a place to stay that isn't in the park. If the city is too dense, then the suburbs may be better. Here." he hands Howl a card. "It's a housing agency that should be able to help you out."

Howl looks at the card and tries to read it (Literacy: English: [dice=100] out of 50) but can't make out some of the words. Frustrated, he shoves the card in his pocket and says "Oh...OK. I will...check it out. Thank you for your time...officers." If the officers leave, Howl will take the card to the Statue and ask "Hey Stillman, what does this say? I can't really read it."[rand=5124083789376915260511129468324951222596732924679443447691620358]

The statue, as always, sought to impart wisdom through silence... and immobility... and being a desintation spot for pigeons that have eaten well...

After waiting for an answer, Howl just says "Ah, you're no help." He takes the card to any civilian and asks for them to read him the card and for directions to the address written on the card.

"Oh." Says the woman, a little startled that a furry costumed man was talking to her, and that he couldn't read, in this day and age. Her child watching from behind her legs. She seemed a little less worried when she read it. "It's for one of the housing agencies in the city. And there's writing on the back." She flipped it over. "It's asking you to report to Precinct 16 for the Caveliers. Oh, the Caveliers, yes, of course. you must be a new hero in town."

Relieved that someone knew what this stupid card said, Howl says "Yes. I am a new hero in this city. If only I could figure out where things were! Where is Pre...Precinct Sixteen?"

"Downtown, somewhere." THe woman said. The little girl wanted to leave. "Good day." She said, politely, as they walked off, the mother explaining not to be rude in front of superheroes.

"Downtown. Thank you!" Howl ran off in the direction of downtown, looking for the Cavaliers of Precinct 16.

As Howl ran, someone - a young silver-coloured fast someone - ran up along side him. "Where are you headed on this fine day?" He asked.

Howl waved, as his uncle taught him was polite to do and said "I'm on my way to find the Cavaliers. I was told that they might be able to help me with my housing situation. You...are fast. What's your name?"

"All the Caveliers give is a steady paycheck and a little big brother authority." Said the teen. "I'm Quicksilver, and I'm hunting down some imposter. A guy named Power Armour. Ever heard of him? Kid turns silver, shows on my scene, and now my parents are asking if I'm in with the cops! I mean, come on!"
After a moment, he says, "Who are you, and what do you do? I saw you in the park, but, like, wondered, after the cops gave you the polite 'sign-up' talk."
