Ch 1 The Next mission

"Well I understand that. Training is training. Its the same with us military types right Socrates? I hope that day is sooner rather than later, I bet my name sounds like magic coming from your lips."

Stephen leans back and takes a sip of whatever liquid they serve with chow. He says, "farm life was great I did really like it. If I didnt' join up, I'd still be there."[rand=1066733322782288476076700869784020141824970164078364414373467378998]

Socrates sniffs the air for a second, and pauses, bending over, he sniffs his plate. Not satisfied he sniffs again. After a second, he lets out a chuckle to himself, as he resumes eating.

Autumn looks confused for a minute, not by the actions of Socrates but from the comment from the soldiers mouth. "Why would those words sound like magic coming from my mouth?" Looking ever perplexed by the comment he made and still continuing to type while talking to him.

[Dome]

"Well because... umm... I was trying to pay you a compliment. Never mind," he sighs realizing she didn't get the compliment. "Hey Doc, what are you writing there?" He asks noticing her taking notes. His first instinct is to grab the notepad, but doesn't do it because he doesn't want to upset her or scare her off.

Socrates leaned over to Richardson and asked, at a whisper "Would it help, sir, if I hummed something romantic?"

[Dome]

Frowning, Stephens whispers really low knowing the dogboy can hear but hoping the doctor can't, "he he he very funny Socrates. Do I need to keep a spray bottle or a rolled up newspaper to keep you in line? Besides, I'm not sure anything can help at this point," he says finishing with a smile.

(OOC - OK that made me laugh waaaaay to hard, calmed down now, so here it comes)

Autumn after hearing the Doc comment sigh's audibly. "If it is OK please do not call me Doc. Every time I hear that it reminds me of a cartoon that we were asked to watch and for some reason that rabbit annoyed me. And on the laptop I am just writing some things down. You are more then welcome to read it if you wish." With that she turns the screen so the two of you can look at it.

- Note it is in Latin.

"You know if you have time later I would also like to chat with you more?" After a quick glance and making eye contact again, she goes back to the screen awaiting his response.

[Dome]

"I'm sorry about that Doctor Santiago, its just everything around here is so formal its just habit to shorten things, especially when we are in casual company like now. I would simply love to get together with you. How bout after this mission, you name the time and place," he says with the biggest smile he can muster.

He takes the pad and looks it over. Turning it in all different directions he says, "I'm sorry, I recognize some of these letters, but not in the order you seem to be using them," he says smiling again. As he hands it back, he says, "I know its not English, could be latin for all I know. Wanna tell me what it says?"

"Oh you do not have to use the full term, Doctor is fine, I just do not like the term Doc. And you are right it is Latin. From what I am told not many can read and write Latin so it seems handy for the time being. And when we get together after I will be more then happy to inform you of what it says." She still does not make full eye contact and only brief glances when she looks at him.

[Dome]

"Doctor is so formal still don't you think? Is there anything less formal I could call you? I mean I did help you get chow," he says with a wink.

Still not accustomed to this type of situation and also not accustomed to eating in a room with this many people she sighs audibly. "I can not fault you for that, but would seem improper for chain of command I believe. If you must in private when it is proper you can I guess call me by my name. But only in private, and I guess I have to say the same to you Socrates. But if anyone else gets word of this when your check-ups come I will be using the rubber gloves..." she shys back hoping her veiled threat holds even though she does not intend to go through with it, unless it is called for.

"Well Autumn and may I say thats a pretty name, I promise to keep it a secret."

[dakota]

" Trassk?" The doctor looked up from her paperwork with a scowl," I'd love to get rid of him. But Col. Wallace made he hold him here for the past couple days. His brain is no more scrambled than it was before the injury, Captain. As long as you don't bring him back to my imfirmary, you can have him. I'll bet some of the nurses will even gift wrap him if you let them. There was no smile, she was clearly serious.

She blushes one more time as no one makes comments like that. "Th-th-thank-you. Th-th-that is sweet that you like my name and all. Um. If it is OK, after we are done here can you show me where we get the stuff we need as well?"

[Dome]

"It will be my pleasure Autumn. Mmm, I do like saying that," he winks at her. He purposefully ignores her stammer. He swells with pride on the inside thinking he is finally get through to her.
